Artie is a 1 year old male Beagle. He is your typical nose to the ground Beagle. He is 30 pounds and very energetic. Artie seems to like other dog but hasn`t met cats yet. He would be fine is a house with kids. A fenced in yard would be best for him.

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Miles. I'm about 4 months old and I weigh about 20 lbs. I was surrendered to the pound and I am now looking for a loving new family to join. I am a super sweet and affectionate little puppy filled with loads of shenanigans. I will need a family that is able to help teach me potty training and basic commands. If you're looking for a sweet puppy to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Bentley - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hello, hello! Let me introduce myself, I'm Bentley. I'm here searching for a new family where I'll have a home, for always. You see, I had a wonderful loving home until my person passed away. The 'other' family didn't want me and just dropped me off at the shelter. I just lost my person and now have lost my home too! But I'm still a loving sweet boy that would love to have another person(s) to bestow all my love! I am so ready for Christmas, is Santa coming to grant my wish? I am a total sweetheart that will have your heart wrapped right around my little paw in no time flat! I love people both tall and small and do fantastic with other pups and even the resident kitty too!! I am house broken and crate trained, letting us get right to the fun stuff right away!! I like going for our walks around the property but I'm more of a meanderer then a cruiser. I'm at that stage in my life where I like to stop and smell the flowers instead of bulldozing right over them! And there's not much that beats a good splash in the river on those walks. Coming in at around 50lbs I could stand to lose a few pounds so those walks will sure help with that. I would make a great companion type pup for someone retired or that works from home. I would even make a great first time dog parent pup. Are you looking for that calm mellow fella that will be happy just to be in the same room? Are you looking for that someone to share in your daily life's going on's from the mundane daily to the weekend exciting? That FBF (furry best friend), that constant in your life that will never turn down belly rubs or treats? Oh wait, yep...that'd be ME!!! Please stop and fill out my adoption application, I am so looking forward to being that lil heartbeat at your feet. It can be found at haydudeequine.org

Story
Cocoa and Cinnamon are around 11 years old. My mother had to go into a nursing home and we need to rehome them. I've tried to keep them but they don't get along with my own elderly dog or my cats; it could be because they're confused about the change, or because they've never been around other animals. I currently have them in my basement, where they spend about 22 hours a day (they only come out for walks, which they love, and they do great on a leash). Obviously, this is no life for a dog! They've been having accidents, which again may be behavioral because of their life upheaval, so they've been wearing doggie diapers. The two need to stay together--they're always together, and will sleep in the same bed, and if I tie them out on nice days they'll sit right next to each other even when they have long leads for exploring. They are VERY affectionate and loving and want nothing more than to be lap dogs, like they were at my mom's. They're excellent watch dogs and good companions.

Story
Cinnamon and Cocoa were my mom's dogs; she had to go into a nursing home and now these 11-year-olds need a loving home. They're bonded and need to stay together. Unfortunately they did not get along with my dog or cats, as they've never been with other animals, so they need someone with either no other pets or the patience to train them. They love to go for walks, snuggle, chew on toys and treats, and be your closest companions! Someone who can be home with them all day like a retiree or someone who works from home would be ideal. They get along with everyone from kids to the elderly and want nothing more than to be lap dogs. They sleep in their beds (often sharing a bed), but would be happy snoozing on your couch, if you let them. I absolutely cannot keep them, so if you're considering adopting a couple of happy, friendly little dogs, please consider giving these boys a home where they can live out their days.

Story
Our family adopted Georgie a year ago. She is about four years old, spayed, 35 pounds, micro-chipped, vaccinated, and no health issues. She is a sweet, sociable, low energy beagle-basset mix who loves walks, snuggling, and drives. Recently, my dad has been diagnosed with cancer and I am driving him to chemo visits weekly when I am not working. Prior to this situation, I was home much more often, Georgie had walks, attention, and my older daughters still lived at home. An ideal home for Georgie would have kids and another dog for companionship if the owner is gone for long stretches of time. The adoption fee includes: dog food, kennel, leash accessories, e-collar, air tag, dog zipline, bed, and grooming supplies. I cannot give Georgie the love and attention she needs and feel horrible about this. However, it is not fair to her to live an unhappy life due to what is happening in mine. She wants nothing more than love and affection, the simple essentials of life for a dog!
