Caper is a 4 year old male Beagle mix who is ready to bounce his way into your heart and home! Weighing in at a whopping 30 pounds, this happy waggy lovely boy is a perfect medium size.Caper`s story isn`t a happy one, but it doesn`t stop him from seeing all the good things in life. He was part of a large humane case in which approximately 22 dogs were removed from the worst squalor that you can imagine. Despite these living conditions, Caper apparently never lost hope, his love of life, his love of people, his joy. Caper is social, outgoing, adorable, and unphased by what he has gone through. He loves other dogs and appears to not have a disagreeable bone in his wiggly body. He is active, loves to go for a walk or ten, loves to smell all the smells, and will be an amazing family companion. We believe that he will do well with canine companions (meet and greet required) in typical beagle fashion. We don`t think that he would have any issue with children but would prefer him in a home with kids 8 and up. Cats are an unknown, but he does not seem to be reactive to them, so a dog savvy cat might work out just fine. Considering where he came from, we assume that Caper will need a crash course in house training. While he may well be house trained, living how he was forced to live could have definitely caused him some confusion, so we recommend treating him, initially, as though he is a baby puppy learning for the first time. While basic training was obviously lacking in his last living situation, he is a smart food motivated boy and will catch on quickly. He already does well on a leash, and while staying with us, will get good practice doing all the things!While we don`t absolutely require a fence for Caper, being mostly Beagle means that Caper has a nose with unimaginable talent - which may cause him to be distracted by all the smells around him. Many a beagle dog has been lost from following a scent trail and all of the sudden realizing they don`t know where the heck they are. He is not a dog who is going to be able to be off lead unless heavily supervised, and being `trained to stay in the yard` is not something anyone should put a lot of faith in. A fence is perfect, but if you don`t have one, prepare to make sure that this boy is never allowed to roam free. Caper is just about ready for adoption. Strudel is a tasty little morsel of puppy boy! Strudel is a male 12 week old (estimated DOB 7/16/26) male Beagle mix looking for an active happy forever home! Currently in the 11-12 pound range, we estimate that his adult weight will be somewhere around 25-30 pounds, give or take a little or a lot. It`s all a guess, after all! Strudel was rescued by the CCHS from a squalid existence in a horrible place. Thankfully, he is unaffected by this terrible beginning and is everything a happy confident sweet and playful pup should be! He is confident and outgoing, one of the bolder pups in the group of 4. He LOVES to romp and play and generally be a rough and tumble adorable boy. Like any baby puppy, Strudel needs a family that will be dedicated to helping him be the best he can be in this important part of his life. He will need house trained, crate trained, obedience trained and above all - socialized! This means taking him all over the place, showing him all sorts of things, introducing him to as many people as you can. Help him be THE BEST DOG EVER! While we aren`t requiring that he go to a home with a fenced yard, we caution that Beagles are NOT generally great off leash dogs unsupervised. They will find a scent, follow a scent, lose the scent, realize that they are hopelessly lost. Every day. Multiple times a day. Training them to `stay in the yard` isn`t a thing, as a general rule. Knowledge is power and will keep your beagle baby safe!Strudel is nearly ready for adoption. We are accepting applications for adoption.

Brulee is as spicy as her name is sweet! Brulee is a 12 week old (estimated DOB 7/16/26) female Beagle mix baby who is looking for a home of her very own! She currently weighs around 9-10 pounds, and we estimated her adult weight will be somewhere between 20-30 pounds. She is one of two bigger pups in this litter of 4 (along with brother Strudel) so probably minimum of 25 pounds. Then again, it`s all a guess! Brulee was rescued from a horrendous living situation by CCHS during a cruelty investigation along with about 20 other dogs. Thankfully everyone is safe, happy, and have bright futures now! She doesn`t seem at all phased by her ugly beginning in life - she`s a joyful sassy playful pup with seemingly zero memory of the bad times. Brulee is one of the most outgoing and bold of the group. She is sassy and confident, loves to be the boss of her siblings, and takes no crap from anyone. Realistically, if her future home has a resident dog, she would probably do best with a new `brother` rather than a new `sister` as we have the feeling that she will want to be the only Princess in the castle. Just like any puppy, Brulee is in need of all the things from her future family that will help make her a good adult. She will need house trained, crate trained, obedience trained and socialized. Socialization is quite possibly the hardest to achieve yet the most important in many ways. It means taking her out and about, having her meet lots and lots of people, seeing all different sights, smelling all different smells, walking on different flooring options even! Basically, we need her new family to commit to making her truly part of their lives, an active part of their lives. While we aren`t requiring that she go to a home with a fenced yard, we caution that Beagles are NOT generally great off leash dogs unsupervised. They will find a scent, follow a scent, lose the scent, realize that they are hopelessly lost. Every day. Multiple times a day. Training them to `stay in the yard` isn`t a thing, as a general rule. Knowledge is power and will keep your beagle baby safe! Brulee will soon be ready for adoption. We are currently accepting applications.

This might be the cutest little Churro that you have ever seen! Churro is a 12 week old (estimated DOB 7/16/26) Beagle mix baby who is ready to be someone`s love. He is currently around 8-9 pounds, one of the smaller kids in this quartet. We anticipate that he will land somewhere in the 20-30 pound range when full grown, probably on the lower end of that scale. Churro was rescued with about 20 other dogs by the CCHS from deplorable living conditions. He doesn`t seem affected by it at all and we are grateful! That wonderful Beagle trait of optimism shining through. He is the less bold of the boys in his little litter - a little more cautious, a little smaller, a little less boisterous. But don`t let this boy fool you - he is saucy as can be and incredibly playful and dear. Loves to be loved. As with any baby puppy, Churro is going to need all the things from his family that will help him be an outstanding grown up dog. He will need house trained, crate trained, obedience trained, and above all else - socialized with the whole wide world. He needs a family that is dedicated to taking him out and about, sightseeing, on sniffing adventures, meeting new people, experiencing new things.
