Story
Tragedy has struck one of our adopter families, leaving this deeply bonded mother-daughter pair urgently in need of a new home.In January 2022, sweet Daisy came to us and delivered a litter of puppies in our care. She and one of her babies, Izzy, were adopted togetherand theyve been inseparable ever since. Izzy has always been a mamas girl. This week, their world was turned upside down. The woman who gave them a loving home was tragically killed in a car accident. Her family cant keep the dogs and has asked us to take them back. Now Daisy and Izzy need someone to give them a second chancetogether, if at all possible. Izzy is the perfect girl: Great with kids Good with cats and dogs Loving and easygoing Daisy (the mama) is more sensitive:Shes fearful of strangers and takes time to warm up.She is not aggressive, but has occasionally nipped when scared. She needs a calm, patient home that will let her adjust at her own pace.We know its a hard time for dogs needing homes. But we also know theres someone out there who can offer these girls the stability and love theyve lost. Please consider opening your heart and your home to Izzy and Daisywhether through adoption or foster care. You can apply at ricopetrecovery.org.

Story
Tank, formally known as Booker, is a 1 year 2 month old beagle pug mix. He was rescued from a shelter who had two different birthdays/ages for him but it was found out that he was born on 7/23/24. He’s very dog friendly and kid friendly. Current home is with a 6 year old and two large dogs. He has puppy energy but is always up for a cuddle. He is completely crate trained. He is doing pretty good proving he is potty trained or that someone did work with him at some point. He’s had two accidents since being out of the shelter but has not had any since. He learned his name in one day. The only reason he needs rehomed is because one of the big dogs currently there does not like him. He loves to give kisses and goes crazy with happiness when you go to let him out of the crate. He is just an adorable small boy looking for somewhere to call home so his current owners don’t have to be worried about his safety! He comes with a crate, puppy food, a food container, dog toy, new collar and leash!

Story
Name: Tilly Gender: Female Age: 2 years Current Weight: 14 lbs Expected Adult Size: Small (under 25 lbs) Breed: Beagle Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Yes and requires another dog in the home Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: No Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence required, any height Crate Trained: Yes for short periods of time Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: Tilly would do best in a home with another friendly dog who enjoys playtime. She sometimes howls when she’s excited, playful, or needs to go potty. Because sudden loud noises can make her a tad bit nervous, she’d be happiest in a calm household without young children. Likes: Tilly LOVES walks, other dogs, food, and zoomies in the backyard! he has a blast at daycare and enjoys meeting new dog friends. Dislikes: Tilly can be cautious in new situations, but she’s made incredible progress. She now approaches new people with curiosity and often leans in for pets. With a patient adopter and a steady routine, she’ll continue to gain confidence and settle right in. Additional Considerations: Tilly takes medication for anxiety and an over-the-counter supplement for acid reflux. She follows a 12-hour feeding schedule to help manage it, and she does wonderfully with her routine. These small accommodations have helped her thrive and enjoy life more every day. What makes this dog special:Once Tilly warms up, she’s a total sweetheart. Her zoomies are hilarious, and we love watching her race around the yard and roll in the grass—earning her the nickname “Silly Tilly.” Her petite beagle “bays” are just as endearing. She’s very food-motivated, making training fun and rewarding, and she’s already learning “sit” and “lay down.” Tilly sleeps quietly through the night in her crate, letting out a cheerful morning howl when it’s time to go outside. She’s a fun, affectionate little dog who’s come such a long way—and she’s ready to keep blossoming in her forever home. Tilly's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2469125##
