Story
Diamond is a Blue Tick Beagle around 4 years old. She is only 15 pounds. She is friendly and loves attention, but is very submissive towards people. She is not a fan of car rides, and would prefer to be a home-body.  She loves other dogs and gets along with cats and kids, too. She is house trained and crate trained. Outside, she will follow her nose anywhere, so can be stubborn out there. This also means she will do anything to get to that smell. She can climb a fences and jump really high for her small size. She is trainable with food!   Every PAWS dog is loved, vetted, and ready for a fresh start February 16, 2026, 9:16 am

Story
Looking for a quiet, loyal friend to share your days with? Meet Stanley, an 8-year-old gentleman who’s ready to be someone’s faithful sidekick for the best years ahead. Stanley is the perfect companion for a calm, easygoing lifestyle. He adores routine, enjoys the simple things in life, and has a special soft spot for older adults — especially retired folks who appreciate good company and a steady pace. He’s happiest spending time right by your side: soaking up the sunshine on the porch, snoozing through a cozy afternoon, or curling up with you and a crocheted blanket during a quiet evening at home. Stanley takes his routines seriously and will politely remind you when it’s past bedtime — because even a distinguished gentleman knows the value of a good night’s rest. Stanley is great with other dogs and children, though he prefers a cat-free household. He’s gentle, affectionate, and loves to be included in whatever you’re doing — whether it’s gardening, watching TV, or enjoying your morning coffee. Recently diagnosed with a mild heart murmur, Stanley is still in good spirits and has many happy, loving years ahead. His needs are simple: a calm home, a soft blanket, and someone who enjoys life’s slower moments as much as he does. If you’re looking for a steady, loving companion to share your golden years, Stanley would love to meet you. He’ll remind you when it’s bedtime, keep you company through every season, and fill your home with warmth and quiet joy.February 10, 2026, 6:18 pm

Story
Tragedy has struck one of our adopter families, leaving this deeply bonded mother-daughter pair urgently in need of a new home.In January 2022, sweet Daisy came to us and delivered a litter of puppies in our care. She and one of her babies, Izzy, were adopted togetherand theyve been inseparable ever since. Izzy has always been a mamas girl. This week, their world was turned upside down. The woman who gave them a loving home was tragically killed in a car accident. Her family cant keep the dogs and has asked us to take them back. Now Daisy and Izzy need someone to give them a second chancetogether, if at all possible. Izzy is the perfect girl: Great with kids Good with cats and dogs Loving and easygoing Daisy (the mama) is more sensitive:Shes fearful of strangers and takes time to warm up.She is not aggressive, but has occasionally nipped when scared. She needs a calm, patient home that will let her adjust at her own pace.We know its a hard time for dogs needing homes. But we also know theres someone out there who can offer these girls the stability and love theyve lost. Please consider opening your heart and your home to Izzy and Daisywhether through adoption or foster care. You can apply at ricopetrecovery.org.

Story
This beautiful red girl is Annie. Annie is about 6 months old. She is believed to be a beagle and hound mix. Annie currently weights 22lbs at 6 months and will likely be a medium-sized girl. Annie and her sister Lucy came to Rico care after they were diagnosed with Parvo and their owners surrendered them. Annie is very sweet and loving. She sleeps in her crate quietly at night. Annie is doing great with potty training outside if she is kept on a schedule. She is not quite dry overnight yet, but she is making progress. Annie is great with children and other dogs and she loves people, laps, treats, and toys. Annie is often found sitting on the lap of the first person who claims a spot on the couch. This gorgeous girl would love a family with a yard or an active family that loves outdoors adventures and walks! She is a beagle mix after all and her nose demands good sniffs!!If you love beagles and hounds, apply to meet Annie at ricopetrecovery.org. The adoption fee for Annie is $350. The fee includes vaccines and the spay surgery and a microchip at our partner veterinarian.

Story
Meet Buster Buster and his siblings arrived in the world via emergency C-section when their mom became too sick to deliver naturally. Sadly, their mama couldnt nurse, so these tiny fighters were lovingly bottle-fed around the clock by devoted fosters. Thanks to all that care, Buster is now growing into a confident, curious, and resilient puppy whos ready to find his forever home. He is learning to be independent but loves to cuddle with his foster. He is estimated to only be 30-35 lbs full grown, based on his momma's perfect size. Hes a true survivor with an adventurous soul, and his cute face and puppy dog eyes will win your heartIf youre looking for a special pup with an incredible story and so much love to give, Buster might be the one for you. The adoption fee for Buster is $350. The fee includes the first two sets of puppy shots at our partner veterinarian. The adopter is responsible for the 3rd and 4th sets of shots and all subsequent veterinary care at their own veterinarian. The adoption fee also includes the neuter surgery and a microchip when Buster is old enough to be neutered at our partner veterinarian. Apply to meet Buster at ricopetrecovery.org.
