Story
Frances arrived at CHA Animal Shelter with another Beagle after both dogs were found as strays in rural Ohio. As she arrived at the shelter with little history, not a lot is known about what experiences she had with people and new things in the past. Frances is a very shy and nervous dog. She would benefit from a quiet home with patient owners who can use positive reinforcement to help her gain confidence and become more comfortable with people and new things. A home with more mature children who can read the dog's signals and treat the dog gently would be best. Frances would do best in a home with another dog as they help her to be more confident. Frances has spent some time in foster. According to the foster, she gets along great with other dogs, is not bothered by cats, and loves people. She had positive experiences with older children (13 yrs+) in her foster home. Once she gets to know you, she loves to sit on your lap and cuddle but will run if you make a sudden move or if she hears an unexpected noise. Frances likes to have a "safe space" to run to when she gets frightened and in the foster's home this was their bed or her dog bed in their living room. Though her foster had a fenced-in yard, Frances would not always come to the foster in the yard so her foster regularly took her out on leash. Frances was reported to be mostly housebroken though would sometimes use pee pads that the foster uses for her other dog. Frances does appear to have separation anxiety and becomes stressed when left alone so she must be crated when unsupervised. Though she may whine for a few seconds after being placed in the crate, she does settle well after a short period. Frances is currently on a longterm anti-anxiety medication called fluoxetine and it is possible she may require this medication lifelong or for an extended period while she adjusts to a new home. Frances is a sweet girl who is ready to find an adoptive home where she can feel safe and loved. She can be met during CHA Animal Shelter's open hours and if you are otherwise interested in any more information, please email Adopt@chaanimalshelter.org.

Story
Meet 'Mama' Diamond! This sweet gal looks like a hound mix, maybe some beagle and is only 35 lbs and 2 years old. She is loving to all humans and dogs and comes with quite the backstory. Diamond was roaming as a pregnant stray in the dead of winter and on a cold and rainy night had a litter of 6 puppies. Luckily she and pups were rescued before flooding. All of the pups, known as the 'Pokemon litter' found homes and our mama is sure yearning for a home of her own. Now that her mama duties are over, her personality is starting to shine like the Diamond she is.Mama is a super sweet gentle girl and is just eating up all the affection and love. She has attended several adoption events at a local petstore and very much enjoyed the attention from everyone and was great with kids. She also attended a 'Read to the Pups' event and loved the kids and attention. She was the perfect lady. Wont you show this affectionate girl the love she craves? Apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Honey is a supersweet 1-2 year old beagle mix who had 5 beautiful pups. She currently weighs 30ish lbs.Honey's pups are all adopted and mama is eager to find her home. She is currently in a foster home where she is getting exposed to walks and the neighborhood. She is a homebody who enjoys the fenced backyard where she can bask in the sunshine and good smells and catch a quick 'dognap'. She is so eager for pets and climbs on your lap for kisses. Her beautiful brown eyes just say 'love me'. She of course loves the couch and stares outside the window. She will let you know when she needs to go outside, whether for potty or just to go outside. She enjoys having her person in backyard playing with her but she is fine being there by herself too. We think she would be fine with another dog in the house that would help her get used to a new home. A fenced yard is a must since she really enjoys the yard and for her safety must be fenced. If you're interested in this sweet mama apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
NorbertMaleAge: 6 yearsWeight: 30 lbsBreed: Beagle Pug Mix Hi! I’m Norbert. I am a loving, friendly and happy guy who gets along with other dogs, but not so much cats as I like to chase them. Children have been a stressor for me in the past, so a home without children would be best for me. I am house trained and crate trained too. My favorite treats are freeze dried tripe from that Hollywood Feed Store and I have a Moose stuffed toy I enjoy. In my daily life, I like to lounge on the couch, explore the yard and take walks. I can be an escape artist, so supervised playtime in the yard is a good idea. My foster mom says I am pretty quiet for a beagle. I am gentle and polite with all my doggy friends and I really love to cuddle with my humans. I cannot wait to find a family all my own who will provide me all the love and attention I deserve! If you are interested in meeting Norbert, apply to adopt at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350 Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Home without Children.  ##1566915##
