I have had Ellie since she was 9 months, she is now 9.5 years old. Ellie is eager to please, learns quickly, is very obedient and has an extensive vocabulary. She is still active and loves long walks and hikes, loves to chase balls and plays well with other dogs while at kennel or off leash at dog parks. She has also done well with cats, some she plays with, others she leaves alone. She has occasionally been around small children and has been very patient with them. As she has aged, and mellowed, she spends a good part of the day in her beds, or if allowed on the furniture (I did not allow this but pet sitters in their own homes did, and she loves to be in a human bed watching movies etc.). She is very quiet and only barks when a doorbell is rung or someone knocks on the door, but she greets new people only with friendly curiosity and never aggression. She has had excellent vet care, has no issues and is fully vaccinated. She is crate trained, now only use a crate in the car.

Say hello to Shortcake 🍰 a short, stout, slightly chunky hunk of love with tiny legs, a big heart, and enough personality to fill a whole bakery. About 2 years old and likely a beagle mix, Shortcake is serving up sweetness, silliness, and nonstop affection. With her beautiful green eyes, adorable brown spots (even on her tummy!), and her perfectly squishy build, she’s impossible not to fall in love with. Shortcake is a total people dog. She adores her humans and shows it by climbing into laps, wrapping herself around you for hugs, and delivering enthusiastic face kisses. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite! She has the spot on her tummy that makes her little leg kick every time, and she will happily demand repeat performances. If you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, Shortcake is a professional. Shortcake enjoys playful interactions but also knows when to take breaks and prefers dog friends who aren’t too intense or in her face. She would do best with a medium-energy dog sibling who respects her space and play style. She may need a little time to decompress in a new home before fully diving into play, but once she’s comfortable, she’s happy to join in. Shortcake loves to explore and follow her nose, which means leash manners are still a work in progress. Apartments aren’t out of the question for her, her future family would just need to be committed to continuing her leash training and helping her build better engagement on walks. A home with a yard would be a bonus, but not a requirement with the right dedication. Cats are a definite no for Shortcake! They’re just way too interesting. She hasn’t been kid-tested yet, but because she’s affectionate and energetic, we’d recommend older kiddos, and we’re happy to do a kid test to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy. Overall, Shortcake is a chunky little short stack of love who brings joy, cuddles, and goofy charm wherever she goes. If your taste says designer, but your heart says rescue- you’re in for a treat! We think Kelley is a Beagle, Dauchshund mix, aka the cutest mix you could possibly imagine!! She is a rescue, so this is of course a guess- but the cuteness is undeniable. She’s estimated to be around 7 years old, and weighs in at 36 pounds. Kelley is a cutie through and through, her favorite place to be is anywhere comfy. She’s a big fan of couches, bean bag chairs and dog beds. She can be a snuggle bug with the humans she loves most, and she doesn’t mind being picked up and held. A true lapdog type! She can be a little shy with new people, but gentle voices, walks, and patience are the key to her heart. Once you’ve won her over, you have a friend for life! She’s besties with her dog-walker Nathan, who understandably adores her right back. Within a few minutes of meeting me, she let me pet her and even came back for seconds. Kelley is dog friendly, and BFFs with a Chihuahua mix half her size. The two have the sweetest friendship, bouncing around each other with wagging tails every time they meet. She’s a little shy with newer dogs, slow and sweet intros are the foundation for a good friendship with Kelley. She currently lives with a larger male dog, Charlie, and enjoys being is boss. LOL!! She isn't playful with him and prefers the people more in the family. When she wants her 11 year old human friend to love on her, she nuzzles her hand with her head and cuddles in close. Kelley is a big fan of movie night couch snuggles with her kiddo foster siblings. She loves kids who love to relax and enjoy the little things in life with her. Kelley’s calm demeanor leads us to believe that children 7 and up would be best for her. Kelley is a gem and lives with a foster cat, too. Meet Butterscotch Pie💛a perfectly squatty, slightly chunky little potato with the most incredible wrinkles you’ve ever seen. Seriously… forehead wrinkles, body wrinkles, all-the-time wrinkles. Add in her beautiful green eyes, adorable little white socks, and her golden glow, and you’ve got a total heart-stealer. She’s about 3 years old, and our best guess is a beagle/lab mix, but what we know for sure is that she’s 100% perfect. Butterscotch is a people girl through and through. She opens up quickly with new friends and is overflowing with affection. She loves being right next to her humans and is a bit of a Velcro dog, following you around, settling close by, and soaking up every bit of love you’re willing to give. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite activity (she will dramatically plop right over for them), and booty scratches are a close second! She arches her back and leans into them like a pro. She’s responsive, checks in quickly, and doesn’t need much guidance, just gentle handling and calm movements, as she can flinch with sudden leash motions. She’s eager to please and enjoys going out with her people. With dogs, Butterscotch is currently more polite than playful. She can be a bit insecure at first, especially with higher-energy or pushy dogs, but she communicates clearly and appropriately when she needs space. She’s done best with calmer, respectful dogs and would be happiest with a low to medium-energy dog sibling who matches her vibe. With time and confidence, she may become more playful, but right now she prefers relaxed companionship and roaming together over roughhousing. Cats are a no for Butterscotch — they’re just a little too interesting for her. She hasn’t been kid tested yet, but because she’s so friendly and people-oriented, she may make a wonderful family dog pending a kid test. Butterscotch would do well in either a house with a yard or an apartment. She may need a short adjustment period to fully settle in, but once she does, she blossoms into a loving, loyal little shadow who wants nothing more than to be near her people.
