Story
If your taste says designer, but your heart says rescue- you’re in for a treat! We think Kelley is a Beagle, Dauchshund mix, aka the cutest mix you could possibly imagine!! She is a rescue, so this is of course a guess- but the cuteness is undeniable. She’s estimated to be around 7 years old, and weighs in at 36 pounds. Kelley is a cutie through and through, her favorite place to be is anywhere comfy. She’s a big fan of couches, bean bag chairs and dog beds. She can be a snuggle bug with the humans she loves most, and she doesn’t mind being picked up and held. A true lapdog type! See Kelley being the cutest right here! https://youtu.be/ksuBPhMKIhg?si=x2XBgjyAdi4Sk4Af At an estimated seven years old, Kelley has already learned the ropes, and she’s a ready-made good dog! She doesn’t have indoor potty accidents, and she walks perfectly on the leash. She enjoys a daily walk around the neighborhood with her foster brother Charlie. She can be a little shy with new people, but gentle voices, walks, and patience are the key to her heart. Once you’ve won her over, you have a friend for life! She’s besties with her dog-walker Nathan, who understandably adores her right back. Within a few minutes of meeting me, she let me pet her and even came back for seconds. Kelley is dog friendly, and BFFs with a Chihuahua mix half her size. The two have the sweetest friendship, bouncing around each other with wagging tails every time they meet. She’s a little shy with newer dogs, slow and sweet intros are the foundation for a good friendship with Kelley. She currently lives with a larger male dog, Charlie, and enjoys being is boss. LOL!! She isn't playful with him and prefers the people more in the family. When she wants her 11 year old human friend to love on her, she nuzzles her hand with her head and cuddles in close. Kelley is a big fan of movie night couch snuggles with her kiddo foster siblings. She loves kids who love to relax and enjoy the little things in life with her. Kelley’s calm demeanor leads us to believe that children 7 and up would be best for her. Kelley is a gem and lives with a foster cat, too. She gets very curious about the kitty, so a home without feline friends is best. If Kelley could have a home with a dog, she would prefer playing with female dogs and small dogs at her home. Kelley has her bags packed and she’s ready for her forever home. She’s an older medium energy lady, and ready for retirement in a home on the calmer side. While she could live with other dogs, she’s also people-loving enough to thrive as an only dog. We are willing to test Kelley with anything you needin order to ensure she is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience! The adoption fee is $1200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship! We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: ● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family ● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test ● 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion ● A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions ● 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription ● Coupons for a fun visit to Petco ● 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions ● Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer ● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Easy as Breeza… Let me introduce you to a pint-sized, peaceful, dream girl- her name is Breeza and truly she is perfection! You have seen her picture but watch her video here to truly understand how itty-bitty she is and how sweet her love is. https://youtu.be/zT0Oh8BCA_c Breeza is estimated to be 8 years old, sure does look like a Beagle, and she weighs 25 lbs. She is a rescue so guaranteeing breed or birthday is impossible and offered only as an observation. Honestly, I could barely believe the veterinary teams provided age simply because she has such a youthful approach to life. Breeza believes in good people, gentle hands and being wherever you are makes her the happiest. She opens up quickly when meeting new people- it’s impossible to imagine she has ever met a stranger. Everyone is welcomed with tail wags, soft adoring eyes, and the opportunity to pet her if you’d like to. Once you pet her she starts leaning her whole weight into your side and soaks up every bit of affection. Touch is her love language, and she’s never shy about asking for more in the sweetest, most polite way. She takes treats gently, enjoys leisurely walks, and hardly needs any correction on leash. She is a natural companion and will mirror your pace and your mood beautifully. Breeza has lived with kids and has a warm, gentle and patient energy when she meets or plays with kids. She is polite and steady who just feels safe to be around. When meeting new dogs, she starts out a little unsure but still friendly. Every dog she has met has been an easy greeting followed by her showing us she is more of a companion than a playmate with other dogs. She coexists peacefully with calm pups but isn’t interested in play, she is perfectly happy strolling around sniffing at all the things in the yard.Breeza would be more than happy as your one-and-only but could equally join a home with a calm-canine companion. The one thing Breeza wants you to know she would like to pass on is cats. When she met our house cat she was cautious in a way that tells us she has probably been swatted by a cat and she would like to avoid that all together. At one point the cat jumped near her and she panicked- immediately leaping into a set of arms for comfort. Basically a cat is too much for her tender heart! Because of that we know she needs a cat-free home where she can fully relax without surprises. Breeza believes… home is where your people are. She is the kind of dog that will happily follow you from room to room to make sure your feet never get cold and you don’t ever feel lonely. Whether she’s your one-and-only or living with a low-energy dog who respects her calm nature, Breeza will choose closeness over everything else. She’s a companion through and through-steady, loyal, and endlessly loving. It is easy to imagine her bringing so much love to a variety of home. If you believe in soft souls and slow days, Breeza believes she is meant for you! Apply here: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6919d1645d6999928405506d Questions? Story
Lucy is a sweet little soul searching for safety and love. Lucy’s story tugs at the heart. Estimated to be around 5–6 years old and weighing 35 lbs, this gentle girl likely has some Beagle, maybe Pug, honestly someone even said Shar Pei. Truthfully, with a rescue the true mis is hers, but what truly defines her isn’t her breed, but her beautiful, quiet spirit. Take a look at her sweetness in motion then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/i9NtuQKvz5w When Lucy’s former owner was taken to the hospital, she suddenly found herself without the familiar world she knew. Understandably, she’s been a little scared since. During her assessment, she sought comfort in the kindest way- leaning into a lap for reassurance and slowly learning that she was surrounded by gentle hands and calm voices and meant safety. Her foster shared that Lucy’s affection shines through once she starts to trust, which doesn’t take much time at all. “She lights up when she sees someone she knows,” they said. “The moment she recognizes you, her tail gives this soft little wag that says she’s happy to see you.” Lucy is looking for a peaceful home with a family that understands the beauty of quiet companionship. She’ll blossom with calm, consistent love and would do best with adults who are happy to take it slow at first knowing it is well worth it for what is on the other side. With other dogs, Lucy is polite but she prefers calm, easy-going canine friends who respect her boundaries and let her open up at her own pace. It is easy to see that her true comfort is with small dogs and even feline friends. She has lived peacefully with dogs before and seemed to quickie relax as she greeted each new dog, preferring calmer, companion type dogs. A calm, aloof male or gentle small dog would be a great match. She also met our resident house cat and despite his spicy approach, she did beautifully. She sniffed politely, wagged her tail softly, and then walked away a few steps to laydown and rest, “Nice to meet you!” Two fast tracks to Lucy’s heart- sweet talk and canned cheese, she accepts both with gentle gratitude. She’s not one for chaos or loud noises, so a home with a yard (rather than an apartment) will suit her best. Once she trusts her person, she’ll love to follow you from room to room- content to just be near you. All she needs is patience, gentleness, and love- and she’ll give it back tenfold. If you’re the kind of person who finds beauty in earning a shy dog’s trust, Lucy will be the most rewarding companion you could ask for. Ready to welcome Lucy home?
