Story
Here's what you need to know about me:I'd like a relaxed home. I've appreciate the finer things in life like naps in the sun, looking out windows, and the special joy when you're able to scratch juuuuust the right spot. I like to take it easy at home - I'm not up for lots of activity.I can be nervous around new people. It just takes me a little while to get comfortable. But once I get to know you, I'm very loving. If there are kids in my new home, I prefer them to be older than 10 years and would like to meet them before going home. I'm not mean to kids, they just make me really nervous! Ask an adoption counselor for more details! It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along. Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 46.8 Age: 4yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Esther is a 25 lb, ~2-year-old independent, easygoing dog who keeps herself entertained and doesn’t need constant attention to thrive. Great with dogs of all sizes, has been around cats, and loves water. She’s a fun, low-maintenance companion for someone who appreciates a more self-sufficient dog. Esther is affectionate on her terms and happiest in a home that enjoys companionship without needing a constant shadow. Story
Meet Theo! Theo is the definition of a sweetheart. He is an affectionate, gentle, food-motivated beagle who loves being close to his people. Whether he’s soaking up the sun, curled up for a nap, asking for belly scratches, or happily being held, Theo thrives on love and companionship. He has come so far during his time in foster care, and it has been incredibly rewarding to watch his confidence grow. Theo gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has been great with kids. He enjoys playing fetch with tennis balls, loves toys that crinkle, and often gets a burst of playful energy after meals, after going potty, and especially around 7:00 p.m. He also loves exploring the world through his nose, taking his time on walks to sniff everything, and investigating bushes, sticks, and leaves along the way. He is nearly fully potty trained with an excellent success rate, as long as he gets one final potty break before bedtime. Theo knows “sit” (especially when treats are involved!) and is beginning to understand “wait” at mealtimes. He eats quickly, so a slow feeder may be helpful. He’s comfortable being handled, does well during baths if the water isn't running, and stays calm, if a little nervous, at the vet. Like many young beagles, Theo is still learning. He enjoys jumping onto furniture, has recently discovered chewing and digging, and is happiest when redirected to an appropriate toy. He is comfortable eating his meals in his crate but doesn’t enjoy being left alone for long and does experience some separation anxiety. He also occasionally reverse sneezes, but responds well to the simple nostril plug technique if needed. Theo is curious about the world around him. He’s interested in cars but still unsure of them, enjoys looking out windows, and rides well in the car, usually alternating between sleeping and quietly taking everything in. He responds to both “Theo” and “Theodore,” with Theodore seeming to be the name he recognizes best, but rapidly learning Theo. Above all else, Theo is an incredibly loyal, loving puppy who simply wants to be part of a family. He has shown us just how much love he has to give, and with a little patience, consistency, and affection, we know he will become an amazing lifelong companion. We feel so lucky to have been part of his journey and can’t wait for him to find the forever home he deserves.
