Animal Profile: Bodhi is a 3-year-old, 78-pound Beauceron mix. This guy is full of spunk and loves to play. Sadly, Bodhi found himself at risk in an overcrowded shelter simply because there wasn’t enough space.  Foster Update:  Bodh i is a sweet boy who wants to be close to you. He takes time to warm up to new people and is committed to his people onces he has established a bond. He does well with other dogs off leash and is able to adjust his play based on the size of the dog . Bodhi loves to play and loves ALL the toys! He will grab every toy from the basket and happily entertain himself. He doesn't want to destroy them and no toys have been eaten/chewed apart. He also doesn't care if Louise wants a toy–he will happily let her take it and find another one. As Bodhi has settled in with us he has demonstrated more of guardian breed behavior and reactivity on leash. He is a strong boy, will pull on leash, and will need an experienced handler. Given these tendencies we think he will be better in an adult only home with large breed experience. Bodhi will do best in a single family home with a fenced yd; we are not considering apartments for Bodhi.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus shelter in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 11/13 via START. Zelda is a gorgeous 8-year-old, 75 lb Rottweiler/Lab mix with the softest coat, sweetest eyes, and an adorable smile that will melt your heart. This gentle, loving girl is the definition of a loyal best friend—she bonds deeply with her people and will happily follow you from couch cuddles to evening strolls. She melts right into her people, is a leaner, and is always wagging her tail! She’s an older gal looking to spend her golden years in comfort and love. Zelda adores soft dog beds, a good couch nap, and the occasional snack (she is very treat-motivated and already knows her basic commands). She’s fully house trained, has wonderful house manners, walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and even enjoys bath time. Zelda can be dog selective and would prefer to be the only pet in the home—your one and only, queen of the castle. She’s not a fit for homes with cats or other small animals. An ideal match would be someone with big dog experience who can give her the easygoing, love-filled life she deserves. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Say hello to sweet Max. He is a ~8 year old, ~75lb German Shepherd who is looking for his forever family. Max is extremely sweet and loving with people. He has lived in a home before, knows basic obedience including shake, and is smart and eager to please! Although Max is older, he still has a good amount of energy and is strong on walks. He would love a family that will take him for adventures, walks, and enjoys playtime! After his activity, he loves to cuddle up and relax on a cozy bed. Max has done well with other dogs in our care, and would do fine with another dog companion in his forever home for as an only dog soaking up all the affection.
