Story
Animal Profile: Galileo is an estimated 18 month old 65lb Beaceron mix. He was a stray intake and assessed at the Stanislaus shelter to be playful and goofy with people and dogs. He has a neat little corncob trick that is pretty adorable. He was scheduled for euthanasia on Sat 9/21 due to overcrowding but we pulled him at the 11th hour and he'll be arriving to Seattle area foster care. We'll share more as we get to know him.  Foster Update: Galileo is SO friendly! He immediately took to my 13 year old son and our 6.5 year old lab. He is very energetic, but also content cuddling with his head on your lap or nuzzled into your leg once he's worn himself out. He loves to meet new people and enjoys meeting new dogs. Galileo is an energetic pup and will benefit from confident handler on leash as he is quite strong and will pull when excited to see a dog or small critter. He is crate and potty trained. Galileo is such a smart guy; he’s learned sit and stay and is working on new commands each day. Galileo is amazing in the car and would love an active family who he can join on PNW adventures! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fees benefit all the animals in our rescue, and may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from the the high kill Stanilaus Modesto animal shelter and transported via START, arriving to Seattle area foster care 9/20/24. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.March 24, 2025, 3:36 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Freya is an estimated 4-year-old, 60 lb female German Shepherd who has a lot of love to give. She is smart and loves to work for you. She will thrive with a strong leader --  otherwise she is prone to anxiety. She is house trained, crate trained, fully obedience trained and will do best with a Shepherd-savvy owner capable of providing her with guidance as well as physical and mental stimulation. Freya LOVES to fetch and BALL IS LIFE. She walks well on a leash with a training collar. This loyal and affectionate girl is slow to warm up to new people and will need an owner who is comfortable managing her safe introductions to strangers, but once you earn her trust, she's very eager to please. Freya has lived with other dogs and loves to play with them; she's good with dogs big and small, male and female. At this time we are prioritizing a home for Freya with a resident dog(s) as we think she would do best in a pack. She's also been tested with cats and exhibits no prey drive, and is amusingly scared of chickens. She is currently living in a home with small children and has done well with them, but we would prefer to place her in an adult-only home.  Adopter Profile:  Large dog experience required Shepherd experience preferred Single family residence required (no apartments) Secure fenced yard required Other balanced dog(s) preferred Cats OK No kids preferred Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a federal 501c3 organization.  TAKE HOME TRAINING SESSION INCLUDED WITH ADOPTION Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Freya was found as a stray in Dec 2020 in Tacoma extremely underweight (40 lbs) and very scared. She was taken into Tacoma Humane Society and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle. She was fostered with DGS for several months while she learned basic manners and gained 15 lbs. She was adopted in March 2021 and lived with a caring family. Unfortunately they lived in a condo with no secure yard in a busy urban environment, which proved too challenging for Freya with those particular owners. She was returned to DGS in April 2022 and received a professional board and train with our training partner Seattle K9 Command. She is now being fostered in Bothell and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.  March 25, 2025, 9:12 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Remi is an estimated 15-month-old gentle giant mixed breed neutered male who will be your very best friend and adventure buddy. A DNA test reveals he is 50% Doberman, 25% Malinois, 25% Pyrenees and 100% good boy! This very leggy dog has a super solid temperament and in the right hands has all the secret sauce to be a mobility support dog. He is social and friendly with strangers and dogs of all sizes, and loves to run and play with other dogs; he has not been evaluated with cats. Remi is not fazed by children or loud noises and has a stable temperament. He absolutely could launch a small child with his body and would be best suited in a home with older children. He has a gentle mouth and shows no inappropriate behaviors such as resource guarding or nuisance barking. He is house-trained and crate-trained, and currently being fostered with an apprentice trainer who is working with him on all his basic obedience (sit, down, place, recall, loose leash walking) so he can be a polite XL canine citizen.  Foster Updates: Stay tuned for details. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Adoption Info: Remi's adoption fee is $550 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, recent vet visit and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Animal History: Remi was rescued as a puppy by an unhoused individual who cared for him with kindness for seven months. He received regular vet care and socialization. She was no longer able to keep him when she got housing and so she reached out to rescue for help with placement. Remi is currently being fostered with an apprentice trainer and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. May 15, 2025, 6:17 pm
