Animal Profile: Bodhi is an estimated 2-year-old, 75-pound Doberman Shepherd or possibly Beauceron mix. This guy is full of spunk and loves to play. Sadly, Bodhi found himself at risk in an overcrowded shelter simply because there wasn’t enough space.  Foster Update: Bodhi is a smart, biddable, confident and fun dog. He loves to play -- fetch, tug, wrestling, doesn't matter -- and work. He truly enjoys obedience training, and structured play is a great way to fill his cup. He is fully crate trained and house-trained and has great dog social skills with both large and small dogs. He has not been evaluated with cats and we would require cat testing prior to placement.  Bodhi is a guardian breed mix and absolutely needs a knowledgeable owner who can provide him leadership and structure, as well as enforce boundaries. Without this relationship dynamic, Bodhi is pushy with his people, and territorial to newcomers. WIth the right relationship dynamic, Bodhi is biddable with his person and accepting of new people. Bodhi will do best with an intentional owner who wants to do stuff with him (versus as a hang around the house, kind of pet) although Bodhi does absolutely have a chill setting and is not hyperactive in the home.  He runs well on a leash and goes on regular 3-mile runs with a volunteer. He knows sit, down -- with implied stays -- recalls with distractions, and walks nicely on leash. He is absolutely a lot of dog and a "dog person" will truly appreciate him. He would be too much for a first time or inexperienced dog owner.  Adopter Profile: Single family residence required No apartments or condos Fenced yard preferred (not required) Other dogs OK but not required Cats considered with evaluation Large breed experience required Training experience or commitment to learn required Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Story
She is an extremely sweet and extremely intelligent dog. She is good with animals and learns very quickly. It is like she understands what I say to her. She has pretty bad separation anxiety if left alone. This is why I cant keep her. If I had another animal she would be fine and she does very well with other animals she just hates being left. Other than that she never has an accident inside the home and she loves to play fetch, snuggle or run with other dogs at the dog park. No medical troubles but I did have to ween her off of some heavy medications for anxiety when I got her from the Seattle Animal Shelter. I want to rehome her so I do not have to surrender her there. Very scary for her. A family home or a farm or a multi animal home. She just needs someone around and someone who can empathize she has had some trauma. She has had multiple training courses.

Animal Profile: Leo is an estimated 5-year-old male slight-structured Shepherd mix who was adopted as a young puppy after we accepted him from California where he was found as a stray in a Chino dumping zone along with his sibling Sansa and mom Catelyn. He joined us in Seattle on 10/10, along with Sansa and Catelyn. Leo was returned to the rescue after a couple of years due to a divorce in the family, lacking socialization and training. He was fostered with a trainer for several weeks and is now thriving and ready for a loving forever home.  Seattle Foster Update: Leo has progressed well in his time with us as a foster. When Leo arrived to us from training he was moderately reactive, but quickly blossomed to a friendly, tail wagging, bouncy boy. Leo is in a word eccentric. He is a cuddle bug and a hermit and assumes the oddest positions imaginable to get close to his owners. He is crate trained perfectly and enjoys the safe environment the crate provides for him. If you’re unwilling to give Leo a crate then you’re not the right home for him. He needs his escape and downtime to be the best boy. Leo warms up slowly to new people and dogs, and his new owners should be selective in dog introductions as he will react if confronted and doesn’t like in your face dog encounters. He plays well with male Collie and male Malinois and he has a firm truce with our selective female Bulldog. He lives with our cats and is completely disinterested in them. So, cat friendly. Leo will never be a dog park dog. So no dog parks. We don’t have kids in the household so don’t have awareness there. He has no food aggression but he's still working on taking treats gently. Leo will be a great hiking buddy and walks beautifully on leash. He doesn’t have marked stranger danger but again the policy will likely be "please don’t pet my dog without proper introductions." Animal Information: Alfalfa is a handsome 2.5 year-old, 50-pound, male Doberman Pinscher mix with the sweetest presence to match his good looks. He was at risk at the Stanislaus shelter, and after seeing his notes and videos we knew we had to save him. According to staff, this sweetheart absolutely loves attention and is always happy to soak up affection from his people. He's patient in his kennel, easy to leash, and walks nicely on leash with only minor pulling. Once he's in the yard, his playful side shines -- get ready for some serious zoomies! Alfalfa enjoy being pet all over and is especially a fan of booty scratches. Foster Profile:   Alfalfa ("Alfie") is a sweet boy with lots of love to give! He is energetic but not 'wild' and would make a great hiking or jogging buddy. He loves fetch in the yard, going on walks, hanging out with his people, and getting pets and love. He is good in his crate, but can be vocal when left alone, so would do best in a house where there are often people around. He is potty trained, and rides well in the car. He plays well with all sorts of other dogs, and is great with children (at least as young as 4). He tolerates cats in the home just fine. He has a loyal and protective instinct, and needs to personally inspect anyone who comes to the house. However, once told that the new human is "safe" he becomes very friendly. His instinct is to pull on leash to greet other dogs, but can be redirected fairly easily. He's very smart and eager to please and learn. His happy place is being snuggled up with the humans he trusts! Alfie will do best with a fenced yard and would love another playful dog in his home, but  would do okay with an active family that can make sure he gets plenty of exercise. No apartments for this active guy! Animal Information: Flint is a 6.5 month old Doberman mix rescued by a Good Samaritan in SoCal. His foster home had a lot of animals, so he hasn’t had much experience yet with walks or outings, but he’s done great living with small dogs. Flint is a playful, sweet puppy looking for a family to bond with and help teach him the ropes so he can grow into a well-mannered gentleman. He has the typical rambunctiousness of a Doberman puppy, but is smart and eager to please.   Foster Profile:   Flint is super sweet, he’s very energetic and LOVES to play. His favorite toys are anything he can chase and catch! He is highly food motivated, making training sessions easy and fun, though he will need someone patient to keep training fun and exciting for him. He is great with other dogs; he plays rough with smaller dogs and does need a bit of management when he disregards social cues. I chalk this up to his puppy brain. lol H e’s a very rambunctious puppy!  We are looking for a single family home with breed experience and a securely fenced yard for Flint. He is a high energy boy that needs a job -- He would make a great running buddy he is a sprinter and loves to go fast. He would love to go on adventures with you! We are not considering apartments for him at this time.
