Animal Profile: Bodhi is a 3-year-old, 78-pound Beauceron mix. This guy is full of spunk and loves to play. Sadly, Bodhi found himself at risk in an overcrowded shelter simply because there wasn’t enough space.  Foster Update:  Bodh i is a sweet boy who wants to be close to you. He takes time to warm up to new people and is committed to his people onces he has established a bond. He does well with other dogs off leash and is able to adjust his play based on the size of the dog . Bodhi loves to play and loves ALL the toys! He will grab every toy from the basket and happily entertain himself. He doesn't want to destroy them and no toys have been eaten/chewed apart. He also doesn't care if Louise wants a toy–he will happily let her take it and find another one. As Bodhi has settled in with us he has demonstrated more of guardian breed behavior and reactivity on leash. He is a strong boy, will pull on leash, and will need an experienced handler. Given these tendencies we think he will be better in an adult only home with large breed experience. Bodhi will do best in a single family home with a fenced yd; we are not considering apartments for Bodhi.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus shelter in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 11/13 via START. Animal Profile: Freya is an estimated 4-year-old, 60 lb female German Shepherd who has a lot of love to give. She is smart and loves to work for you. She will thrive with a strong leader --  otherwise she is prone to anxiety. She is house trained, crate trained, fully obedience trained and will do best with a Shepherd-savvy owner capable of providing her with guidance as well as physical and mental stimulation. Freya LOVES to fetch and BALL IS LIFE. She walks well on a leash with a training collar. This loyal and affectionate girl is slow to warm up to new people and will need an owner who is comfortable managing her safe introductions to strangers, but once you earn her trust, she's very eager to please. Freya has lived with other dogs and loves to play with them; she's good with dogs big and small, male and female. At this time we are prioritizing a home for Freya with a resident dog(s) as we think she would do best in a pack. She's also been tested with cats and exhibits no prey drive, and is amusingly scared of chickens. She is currently living in a home with small children and has done well with them, but we would prefer to place her in an adult-only home.  Adopter Profile:  Large dog experience required Shepherd experience preferred Single family residence required (no apartments) Secure fenced yard required Other balanced dog(s) preferred Cats OK No kids preferred Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and health certificate. She was taken into Tacoma Humane Society and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle. She was fostered with DGS for several months while she learned basic manners and gained 15 lbs. She was adopted in March 2021 and lived with a caring family. Unfortunately they lived in a condo with no secure yard in a busy urban environment, which proved too challenging for Freya with those particular owners. She was returned to DGS in April 2022 and received a professional board and train with our training partner Seattle K9 Command. She is now being fostered in Bothell and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.  September 5, 2025, 8:50 pm

Born into an unwanted litter, Scout and his siblings missed out on the comforts most puppies take for granted — couches, bedtime routines, and humans who call them theirs. But somehow, Scout never let that dim his spirit. Scout is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and playful, with a heart that’s clearly been saving up love just waiting for the right people. He’s great with other dogs and kids, and greets life with a wagging tail and a hopeful look that says, “Is this my family?” His mom is a heeler/border collie mix around 40 lbs, and dad? Well… dad was apparently a traveling salespup, charming his way through town and leaving us with a mystery — possibly shepherd, possibly heartthrob, definitely good looks.
