Animal Profile: Bodhi is a 3-year-old, 78-pound Beauceron mix. This guy is full of spunk and loves to play. Sadly, Bodhi found himself at risk in an overcrowded shelter simply because there wasn’t enough space.  Foster Update:  Bodh i is a sweet boy who wants to be close to you. He takes time to warm up to new people and is committed to his people onces he has established a bond. He does well with other dogs off leash and is able to adjust his play based on the size of the dog . Bodhi loves to play and loves ALL the toys! He will grab every toy from the basket and happily entertain himself. He doesn't want to destroy them and no toys have been eaten/chewed apart. He also doesn't care if Louise wants a toy–he will happily let her take it and find another one. As Bodhi has settled in with us he has demonstrated more of guardian breed behavior and reactivity on leash. He is a strong boy, will pull on leash, and will need an experienced handler. Given these tendencies we think he will be better in an adult only home with large breed experience. Bodhi will do best in a single family home with a fenced yd; we are not considering apartments for Bodhi.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus shelter in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 11/13 via START. Meet Blitz! Blitz is a cute little guy who loves being where the action is. He enjoys hanging out with his foster brother and sister or relaxing on the couch watching their antics. His favorite things include playing with his brother, exploring, chewing on a bone while lounging on the couch, treats, and especially belly rubs! Blitz is often first in line for treats and will happily ask for extra rubs. He may be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly with gentle pets and treats. Blitz does great with cats and happily ignores them. Blitz is potty pad trained and is currently working on house training and leash manners. He sleeps quietly through the night in his indoor puppy pen. Blitz is ready to find a loving home where he can continue learning and enjoy lots of affection.

Meet Winter! Winter truly lives up to his name—he’s a calm sweetheart with a gentle soul. He can be shy at first, but with patience (and treats!), he warms up and enjoys pets and affection. Winter is gaining confidence every day. He loves playing with his brother and foster siblings, lounging on the couch, and, of course, enjoying treats. Winter is potty pad trained and is currently working on house training and leash training. He does well with cats and politely ignores them. Winter would do best in a home that understands shy pups and is ready to cheer him on as he continues to grow into a confident companion. His ideal home is with another confident dog and a quiet calm structured household.

Tall dog fans, come meet Ace! This 2-year-old German Shepherd mix is tall, handsome, and tons of fun. Ace is looking for an active family who can give him plenty of daily exercise, play, and mental enrichment. He will make an awesome hiking partner, though with his long legs he'll be able to scale the trails easier than you! Ace is looking for a home without cats but may do well with another dog given a slow introduction. Ace would like any dog friends to have good social skills and be able to match his energy levels. Because Ace is a big puppy, he can sometimes play rowdy and will likely do best with just dog-experienced teens and adults. Ace is not a fit for an apartment or condo and would love a fenced back yard to run around!
