Story
Doggy Day Out 3/29/26:We took a walk along the bridge and she got to meet some people along the way. After about an hour walk we relaxed in the park where she loved getting her belly rubbed and sitting in my lap for snuggles. After that we got coffee and a pup cup and headed to our final 3 mile walk. She did really good on leash, she didn’t pull and she kept at my pace whether I was jogging or walking. After that walk she was sooo tired so we laid out in the shade and she took a nap. The park was empty and super quiet which I think she appreciated getting some peace and quiet. She listened very well throughout the day. She does get excited seeing other dogs and barked at them to play but we did not play with other dogs. She is good about getting in the car, getting out was a little tricky just because she was excited but overall she was very patient. Happy, silly, smart, friendly, patient, LOVES belly rubs and loves to sit in your lap for snuggles. Great on leash and easy to walk. She loved walking through the grass and sniffing around. I tried giving her treats but she didn’t want them, however she loves a pup cup (: Privilege was an awesome companion for the day and she will make an amazing, loyal friend to her future owner.

Story
Poquito is a 65 pound loving boy with a big heart, lots of energy, and an intelligent mind. We adopted him from our local shelter where he was listed as a corgi mix. A dna test showed us that he is Belgian malinois, German shepherd, husky, and… chihuahua! We finally knew where his short legs came from! He loves to play with other dogs, go for walks, play fetch, tug of war, and chew his toys (he needs the extra tough stuff). He is house trained and crate trained (currently sleeps each night in his crate). Poquito is also great in the car. We’ve taken him on 8+ hour road trips with no issues. In the summer, he loves to get wet whether it’s the hose, sprinklers, or a splash pad. With a child on the way, we can no longer dedicate the time and energy to Poquito that he deserves. The right home for him will provide daily mental and physical enrichment, in a loving but structured environment.

Story
Hello! This is Yuki and she is 6 years old. She was born in 29 palms CA, and she had been with me since birth. She is a mixed breed. She loves to take a long walk/run. She is very energetic and loves to play around with other dogs/kids. She’s very friendly. I would like her to go to a family that can walk her a lot because she gets very bored sitting inside the house.

Story
Ranger is a loving and loyal Belgian Malinois looking for the right home. He is very affectionate with his owner and family and forms strong bonds with the people he knows. Ranger has completed obedience training and recently finished a one-month board-and-train program, where he worked on structure, commands, and behavior. He is a smart dog who responds well to training. Because of his breed, Ranger is very energetic and needs daily exercise and mental stimulation. He would do best with someone who has experience with working breeds or an active lifestyle. Ranger has mostly been around family and has not had much exposure to strangers, so he will need an owner who is patient and willing to continue training and socialization.

Story
Clay is a 4 year old neutered male livestock guardian/shepherd mix. He loves people more than anything. He is good with cats and small dogs. He is okay with some large dogs and not others. He has not been observed around young kids. Clay is medium energy. He loves to run and play as well as cuddle and nap. He is still building confidence in new situations and with new people. He is very shy in public. At home, he is confident and always wants to be by his person's side. He will need someone willing to go slowly when introducing him to new people, animals and experiences. Clay was found on the streets of Modesto as a stray. No one claimed him. He was set to be euthanized at the shelter due to overpopulation before we took him. At the shelter, he was terrified and kept to himself in the corner, shut down in fear. In his foster home, he is lively and social.

Story
Dogs don't come any cuter than Daffodil! Daffodil is an approximately 3-year-old bundle of fun who is eager to find her forever home. She is the sweetest girl who will happily make herself comfy in your lap and cover your face in kisses. We haven't had the heart to tell her she is slightly too big to be a lap dog. Daffodil is fully grown and weighs around 60lbs (although she could benefit from losing a few pounds). Daffodil came to us after she was found as a stray. One of our foster homes agreed to take her in until an owner was found, but an owner never came forward. A couple of weeks after she was found, Daffodil gave birth to 9 puppies! All of her puppies have been adopted, so now it's her turn! Daffodil is a wiggly goofball and loves to explore and go on adventures. Now that she doesn't have to care for her babies, she is ready to enjoy life and soak up all the human attention for herself. Daffodil has been doing great learning her basic manners, and has learned "sit". She is very food-motivated, which makes training a blast. Her new family will need to be prepared to dedicate the time to continue to work on her basic manners to help her be the best girl she can be. Daffodil would do best with someone who has large dog experience, as she is a strong and enthusiastic girl. Daffodil is a moderate-energy gal. When she's at home, she is happy to chill on the couch and enjoy movie marathons, but she also has the energy for long walks and hikes. She loves car rides and hops right in and is ready to go. She loves making new human friends and has been a popular girl at our adoption events. She is quick to cover your face in kisses and will lean into you for a hug. She oozes happiness and can't wait to find her fur-ever family! Daffodil would do best as an only dog or with an easy-going male dog. She needs a kitty-free home. Due to her rambunctious nature, Daffodil would do best with an adult-only home or with kids 12 years or older. Daffodil has been doing very well with her house and crate training. She sleeps through the night in her crate and has done well hanging out in there when her foster mom is at work or gone for a few hours. Daffodil is such a sweet girl, and she deserves her happy-ever-after. If you think that might be with you, submit an adoption application today!   Daffodil's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. March 7, 2026, 9:47 pm
