Prairie has been through more than any dog should. She was abandoned at Lake Berryessa and survived on her own for several weeks before finally being brought to safety, yet her heart remains incredibly gentle. Prairie absolutely adores other dogs and truly blossoms in their presence, so she would do best with a confident canine companion to help her continue building trust. She's looking for a calm, quiet home with patient adopters who understand that trust takes time and can give her the space to decompress. Once she feels safe, her sweet, loving personality really begins to shine. With consistency, kindness, and a furry best friend by her side, Prairie will make a deeply devoted companion. He's had a tough start in life and is still learning to trust, but his progress has been amazing. While he's very shy with touch and startles easily, Boris shows affection in his own gentle way-by resting near you, giving soft kisses, and seeking quiet companionship. He's food-motivated, crate-trained, potty-trained, and knows basic commands like "sit" and "come." He loves soft blankets, chew toys, and playing with other dogs, especially with his foster brother Charlie. While he also lives with a foster brother cat, he may need some training and work to coexist with any resident felines. Though he has some physical challenges-likely due to genetics or past trauma-he's gaining strength and confidence every day.Boris needs a patient, loving home that will let him open up at his own pace. If you have a calm environment and a big heart, Boris could be the perfect fit. He may take time, but the love you'll earn from him is truly one of a kind.Boris is currently in foster.Boris's adoption fee is $275. Story
We adopted Masher -5 months ago from Ca shelter. He is up to date on shots and flea and tick meds Very sad we cannot continue to raise him. My wife uses a cane now and is the primary caregiver which means she is unable to walk and exercise Masher. We believe he would be a great fit for a family with a yard as he loves to run and play And needs exercise. He loves to walk around our neighborhood. Masher needs a lot of attention. He is very loyal and attentive to his “person/persons”. We have a large crate for Masher that is 4ftx3ft and will sell for $25

Story
Have you ever wanted a dog that would bring you the paper? bring you your slippers? fetch a blanket when you are cold? Then may I introduce Elphaba! Just like her character name, she has a heart for doing all things good but may need a little more refinement in her delivery.  Elphaba gets along perfectly with the resident male dogs, submitting to them fully, showing her belly and is always prepared with a play bow to get the games going.  As Elphabas breeds (and namesake) suggest, she is a smart cookie and the perfect adopter would be someone with working breed experience. She would be great on a ranch or in an active family.  She is not a flight risk as she is very loyal to whomever has cheese. Elphaba came to us from the shelter with her 1 week old baby. It took some time for her to trust her foster mom but once they bonded over cheese, there was no going back. She is still learning that new people do not mean any harm... and that they often come bearing cheese. Are you sensing a theme here? Now that her puppy is weaned its her time to shine! Elphaba is crate trained, and house broken.  She likes having breakfast in her puzzle bowl so she can settle in for a morning nap after putting in all that work. She is timid when meeting new people but warms up quickly and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Her perfect home would be feline free but canine friends are a plus!  If you want to meet this good witch in the flesh fill out an application! PS dont mention her lack of tail, its a sore subject.  ##2636301##

Story
Meet Tyrone, a handsome 1-year-old Shepherd Husky mix with a playful spirit and lots of affection to give. Tyrone is a friendly, energetic pup who enjoys spending time with people and exploring the world around him. When meeting new people, Tyrone can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly. Once he feels comfortable, he happily leans in for pets and enjoys being close to his handlers. He’s an affectionate dog who often curls his body toward people and seeks out gentle attention. Tyrone has a moderate to high energy level and loves to run, explore, and play in the yard. Treats are a big motivator for him, which will make training fun and rewarding for both him and his future family. He will benefit from continued leash training, as he can pull strongly and sometimes gets frustrated if he wants to move in a different direction. Around other dogs, Tyrone has shown friendly but somewhat neutral social behavior. He may greet politely and sniff, but tends to move away if another dog becomes too pushy or overly energetic. A dog-to-dog meet is recommended for any potential canine housemates. Tyrone does have an old fracture in his left femur that healed before arriving at the shelter, and he may show some limping or weakness in his hind end at times. With the right home, this playful boy has the potential to grow into an incredibly loyal best friend.

Story
Meet Tucker, a 1-year-old German Shepherd / Siberian Husky mix with the intelligence, energy, and personality you’d expect from these incredible breeds. Tucker is a friendly dog who enjoys interacting with people, though he may seem a little aloof at first. Once he has a moment to warm up, his affectionate side comes out; he’ll lean gently into his handler, curl his body toward them, or rest his head against them for attention. As a young working-breed mix, Tucker has lots of energy and curiosity. He enjoys being active, exploring the yard, and spending time with people. Because of his strength and enthusiasm, he pulls strongly on leash and will benefit from continued training to help him learn polite walking skills. Tucker has shown some stress and anxiety in the shelter environment, which isn’t unusual for a sensitive, intelligent dog in a busy setting. He may bark, whine, or become restless when he’s feeling frustrated or overstimulated. With consistent exercise, enrichment, and a predictable routine in a home environment, many dogs like Tucker relax and thrive. When meeting other dogs, Tucker has shown mixed but generally polite interest. He may approach briefly to sniff but can become uncomfortable if another dog is too forward or energetic. Because of this, a dog-to-dog meet is recommended for any resident dogs.Tucker will do best in an experienced and active home that understands the needs of working breeds. Tucker could be an incredibly rewarding companion. With patience and the right guidance, this smart young dog has the potential to grow into a loyal and devoted partner.

Story
Charm is a beautiful 2-year-old German Shepherd who was transferred to us from HSNB in Vallejo, and her name fits her perfectly. This happy girl greets everyone who walks by her kennel with excitement, bright eyes, and a wagging tail, she’s always ready to make a new friend! Charm is easy to leash and walks nicely with very little pulling. She absolutely loves attention and will gladly roll over for belly rubs, soaking up all the affection you’re willing to give. Her sweet, people-focused personality makes her a joy to spend time with. While Charm doesn’t appear to have had much previous training, she’s eager and ready to learn. With a dedicated adopter who can provide structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement, she has all the potential to blossom into a well-rounded and loyal companion. When meeting another dog, Charm was slightly nervous at first but quickly warmed up and showed interest in playing. She may do well with a resident dog in the home, and a dog-to-dog meet is required to ensure the right match.
