Story
Ive had my pet since he was a month and a half old. His birthday is April 5. He is very protective, very loyal. I love this dog but I do not have the time for him anymore. My wife is pregnant and with the new baby, I will have less time with the dog. I tried giving him to the shelter but the only option they have is to put him to sleep and I do not want that for him. He is a great dog, he just needs an experience adopter. Someone who would have time for him, someone who will train him. He is still young. Hopefully here I can find the right person for my dog. I am located in Solano County.h

To apply or see see more of Sox, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/12/23/sox Woof everyone! I'm Sox, or shall we say “fox?” Yeah, I get that a lot. In addition to my awesomeness, I’m also pretty exotic lookin. Regal, right? I’m 45lbs and will probably not get significantly bigger. My life started with a bit of an adventure – I was rescued alongside a lovely lady shepherd and a bunch of other playful pups who I came to love as my own brothers and sisters. Fast forward to now – I'm the definition of playfulness and energy. Fetch, tug-of-war, you name it – I'm always up for a good time. After a month in foster, I finally started to feel more comfortable around my foster doggy siblings and I am totally one of the squad now! Thanks to my super amazing foster parents, I’ve made great strides with crate training and encountering other dogs and people on walks. I’m starting to realize how great walks around the neighborhood are! I don’t mean to brag, but I was potty trained in just a few weeks! The one thing I’m a little behind on is my love for the car. My foster is optimistic that I may get more comfortable as I get older with the help of training and positive distractions. More from Sox’s foster: - Playful with passive females once he knows them - Usually neutral towards other dogs on walks and when meeting them for the first time - Barked at his first cat once and then sniffed and left alone for the most part (he was on leash but wasn’t obsessive or pulling towards the cat) - Is loving walks and doesn’t find the outside so scary anymore! - Can be timid in crowds, but listens and takes direction with treats - Is getting friendly with new people, alert barking when someone comes into the house but shows interest, takes treats, and allows pets on first meeting - Nervous on car rides, but able to be distracted with a chew and treats and can now sit in a non-moving car which exhibiting anxiety $250 adoption donation includes age-appropriate shots, microchip with free lifetime registry, deworming, flea preventative, and spay/neuter agreement addendum Ideal home will: Preference to homes w/ friendly & well-trained dog role models (preference, NOT required) Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Have you met Lola? She's our adorable one-year-six-month-old Belgian Malinois who's ready to take on the world! Lola is the newest addition to our adoptable dogs, and she's looking for a loving family to call her own. Now, when you first meet Lola, she might come across as a bit standoffish, but give her a few minutes to warm up to you, and she'll be your new best friend! Lola is a smart girl who knows what she wants, and she needs a family that will respect her boundaries. We have observed that Lola does better with less interaction when meeting new people, but once she decides you're her friend, she'll be loyal to you forever. While we don't recommend Lola for pet parents with young children, we believe she'll thrive in a home with experienced dog parents or those willing to invest time in learning about her breed and providing her with the appropriate training and care she needs. So, are you ready to give Lola the loving forever home she deserves?¿Conoces a Lola? Story
Loreen approached me on the street a few days ago. The local Humane Society shelter did not have space for her, and I didn't want to take her to the county shelter (that doesn't have a no-kill policy). I reported her to animal control and decided to foster her until she finds a permanent home. I took her to the vet for her first round of shots and deworming and can provide her records. Loreen is a very affectionate puppy of about 6 months who will grow up to be a pretty large dog. She is active and requires a lot of exercise. She seems to mostly be housetrained, but did have a couple accidents. She doesn't know commands yet, but seems to be a fast learner. She likes to be around people. You can expect normal puppy behavior (chewing, play-biting), which she should outgrow. We are keeping her separate from our dog and cat, so I am not sure how she would get along with other pets. Looking for a loving home where she could stay active and mentally stimulated.

Story
Cain is an 8 month old Belgian Malinois who was recently brought into the Humane Society of the North Bay in Vallejo as a stray. He weighs about 52 lbs. and appears to be in good health. Cain is a good-natured, intelligent boy. He meets new people with ease, and does not shy away from strangers. While he can be jumpy and a little mouthy, he is very responsive to correction and his behavior improves when he is moved into a more relaxed environment. He has tested well with other dogs and enjoys a good game of chase with a little gentle wrestling on the side. He shows interest in cats but he has not been fully tested in that area. Cain enjoys going on walks but could benefit from some leash training. If his human companion dawdles he has been known to tug on his leash to get his handler's attention. Fortunately, Cain is smart and food-motivated, so training should be a breeze. He has already well on his way to mastering simple commands like "sit" and "come". While the shelter does not know for sure whether Cain is house-trained, he shows signs that he might be. The kennel staff reports that he usually tries to wait until he is taken out before relieving himself and, when that is not possible, he does his business in a fixed location as far from his bedding as possible. Volunteer dog walkers report that he usually poops as soon as he gets off shelter grounds. What a good boy!!As a young and active pup, Cain would do best with someone who could provide him the physical and mental stimulation he needs to thrive. Malinois are highly intelligent, active dogs that require a big training and exercise commitment. Without those needs met, the breed will become destructive, nervous, and naughty. But with the right handler, Cain will definitely earn his "good boy" badge. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 49 Age: 0yrs 10mths 2wks
