Lilly is a 3½-year-old Belgian Malinois mix, 47 pounds, and one of those dogs who reminds you why rescue matters in the first place. She was found wandering the streets of Del Rio, Texas, terrified and completely shut down. At animal control, she was so frightened that she hid her face, avoided eye contact, and panicked on leash. She wasn't aggressive — she was simply scared and didn't know who or what she could trust. Then someone gave her something every scared dog deserves: Time. Lilly went into foster care and slowly began figuring out that people could be kind. She spent months learning that a house could be safe, a yard could be fun, and a human hand could mean a head scratch instead of something to fear. And somewhere along the way, Lilly blossomed. Her foster families discovered a very different dog hiding underneath all that worry: a sweet girl who loves other dogs, enjoys affection, comes over for hugs and head scratches, and is perfectly happy curling up on the couch. In her current foster home, Lily has completely settled into the dog pack and even claimed her very own spot behind her foster mom's desk. Her official job title: World's Best Coworker. 😂 And yes, she still has a little shyness. Lilly isn't the dog who is going to burst through the front door on day one and announce, “Hi! We're best friends!” She's more of a... “I'll be over here quietly observing you. Give me a little while. Then I'll probably come sit next to you.” And when she finally decides you're her person? Oh, that's when the magic happens. She loves affection. She loves other dogs. She enjoys being part of a household. And she has a wonderfully gentle, sweet nature that her foster families have worked incredibly hard to uncover. Rip a 4 yr old, Malinois/Belgian Shepherd mix. He is a big boy at 90lbs. Rip is very intelligent and eager to please. He is very food motivated. He knows many basic commands, including sit, touch, down, paw and is working on roll over. He is also crate trained. Rip enjoys going on long walks with staff and volunteers. Rip's walking ability has received glowing reviews, as our walkers have told us he is one of the most enjoyable dogs to walk. Rip enjoys human interaction, and will ask for attention and affection at any given opportunity. Like any good dog he loves a butt scratch, a belly rub and a head pat. As for other dogs, Rip is selective. He enjoys the company of a dominant female, who can doll out and receive some rough and rowdy play. As much as he loves kids of all ages, due to his size and general doofiness a home with children is not recommended. Rip is also not suitable for a home with cats. Meet Solei! Solei is one of our sunshine pups and she’s ready to find a home that can keep up with her! Solei is believed to be a Pit Bull/Malinois mix. She came from a local accidental litter that Project Precious Rescue and another rescue stepped in to help vet and rehome. Like many pups with bully and shepherd roots, Solei is an active girl who loves to run, jump, and play. She will be looking for a home with athletic pitbull/shepherd or working dog experience. These are not ideal first-time puppies unless you have solid plans for training, socialization, structured exercise, and lots of focused bonding time (maybe even a fun job!). Solei has a slightly softer personality than her sister. She can be a bit more reserved in new situations and may watch from the sidelines before jumping in. Once she’s comfortable, she’s incredibly sweet and loves snuggles when she’s ready to wind down. She’s a sensitive girl who responds beautifully to praise and encouragement. She has done well with dogs of all shapes and sizes, especially playful pups who enjoy puppy antics. An active dog friend would likely be a great match for her. She may also do fine with a savvy cat, though she hasn’t met one yet. Meet Suvi! Suvi is one of our sunshine pups and she’s bringing the energy! Suvi is believed to be a Pit Bull/Malinois mix. She came from a local accidental litter that Project Precious Rescue and another rescue stepped in to help vet and rehome. Suvi is bold, confident, and always on the move. She loves to run, jump, and play, and will need a home with athletic pitbull/shepherd or working dog experience. This girl isn't the best fit for first-time dog owners unless you’re ready for serious commitment to training, socialization, structure, and plenty of exercise. While she isn’t extremely drive-heavy, Suvi has very high energy and can be mouthy and jumpy like many working-type puppies. She needs someone who will channel that energy with training, engagement, and structure, not just a yard. Suvi is fearless and loves rough-and-tumble play with the big dogs. She takes corrections from them well and might even have a future in parkour! Because of her enthusiastic play style (and slight wrecking ball tendencies), she would do best with active, playful dog friends rather than low-key or senior pups. Rex is loving, intelligent, playful and perceptive. He is about 10 months old. He has been with us since he was 8 weeks old. He is a designer hybrid, Belgian Malinois and American Staffordshire mix, and has a great character. He likes to be useful, but he is real goofy ! He is great with kids but is a kid himself with the older dog. He is housetrained but can have an occasional accident. Only apply if you and your family have experience with dogs.
