Meet Bix! We met Bix one May afternoon when we were visiting a metro area animal shelter. Huddling in the back of her kennel, just skin and bones - we knew we needed to save her! Bix is a 2-3 years old German Shepherd, perhaps with just a smidge of something else in there to account for her smaller than normal size. She's great with other dogs and oh so so smart! GOOFBALL ALERT Big ol’ Gary is nothing if not goofy!! Tall and lanky, he never really grew into his legs - even still at 2.5 yrs old! Gary’s mom was a pure black German Shepherd but we have no idea who dad might have been. He joined us back in January 2024 at just 6 weeks old, along with the rest of his litter. All of his brothers and sisters found amazing homes as puppies, but for some unknown reason Gary has never received even a single adoption application - we just don’t get it! Gary gets along great with other dogs but this loving boy wants nothing more than to be right by his person’s side - a true GSD trait for sure. Hello, Otto is a 1 1/2 year old German shepherd mix. My family and I originally got him as a family pet, and I unfortunately lost one of my parents a month after having him. I’ve been taking care of him alone for about a year now, but have come to the unfortunate realization he might need to live in a home with a yard, and other dog(s). And that I can’t take care of him alone. He is a sweetheart and has all the basic training skills! I just want him to be fulfilled for the rest of his life and to be able to socialize. I am currently in college and have to move around a lot so I just want him to have a more stable life.

We adopted Odin in 2019 from the Humane Society. He’s a very sweet, gentle giant. He did the obedience training at the humane society and is pretty good at following commands and coming when called. He gets along very well with our other dog and plays well with other neighborhood dogs that come into our yard on occasion. He has never bitten anyone, but because of his size and his deep bark, he can seem scary and as a result, seems scary to our small kids (1.5 and 4). We feel like he isn’t really thriving in our home anymore because of his relationship with our kids and feel like he deserves better. We love for him to find a home with someone who has the time we don’t to dedicate to him - to go on walks and hikes and dog parks, etc. We did embark testing and can share breed results but primarily, he’s 41% GSD, 26% Great Pyrenees and 16% Catahoula.
