Story
Sweet Nemesis... we like to say she is a lab trapped in a mali body. Shes definitely a love bug and velcro dog to the fullest. Unfortunately thats what has landed us in this position. With recent changes to my schedule with work and kids im not able to take her with me as much and we're not at home as much either. This is not an ideal situation for Nemesis or any malinois in general especially a young one. Nemesis is house trained, knows all her basic commands and is crate trained. She has been trained that her crate is her safe spot and will often go there on her own to decompress. (Her xl crate will come with her). She is food motivated and loves her ball. Walks well with her harness will pull with just a leash and collar. She is a pure bred malinois so you need to be educated and experienced on the breed or she will own you. Raised since birth with kids and noise so shes not fazed by them, likes to play with other dogs but can be a bit overwhelming to some.

Story
Meet Tessa – A Survivor with a Heart Full of Love  Tessa has already overcome so much in her young life. She came into the shelter as an owner surrender with her three siblings—two were adopted, one sadly escaped, and Tessa was left behind, heartbreakingly placed on the euthanasia list. But this resilient girl held on, and now she’s been given a second chance to find the love she so deeply deserves. Tessa is a beautiful, medium-sized pup with the most expressive eyes and adorable ears that perk up with curiosity. She’s affectionate, gentle, and has a sweet, sensitive soul that blossoms once she feels safe. Here’s what makes Tessa special: Friendly and affectionate – she warms up quickly and seeks connectionPlayful and curious – she loves exploring the yard and lounging in the sunLoyal and observant – she’s the kind of companion who watches your every move and quietly sticks by your sideDog-friendly – enjoys the company of other pupsHeart of gold – despite all she’s been through, Terra radiates love and hopeShe’d thrive in a home that will continue showing her the kindness she missed early on—a place where she can feel secure, loved, and part of the family. Terra is ready to write her next chapter with someone who believes in second chances. Could you be that person? CURRENTLY IN Maryland, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Story
Nova is a scaredy cat in German shepherd form. At the age of 6 months, Nova was about to be tossed out on the street when a Good Samaritan scooped her up and brought her home, hoping to help Nova understand that she was safe and loved while providing her kids with a dog to play with. But Nova’s wounds are deep and an active home with several kids is just not conducive to her recovery. We don’t know if Nova experienced trauma in her previous home(s) or simply lived a sheltered life, never having the opportunity to experience anything beyond her crate, which is her safe space. We do know that Nova seems to love other dogs. She has a dog buddy in her current home. He boosts her confidence and helps her come out of her shell just a bit. She plays with him but does not play with the humans. In fact, she is barely brave enough to eat in front of the humans. Among the people in her current home, Nova seems to trust the littlest kids the most; the older kids and adults are scary. When approached by a person—sometimes even a family member—in the home, she tends to retreat. If her crate is available, she will go there. If she has a dog buddy with her, she will feel confident enough to bark prior to retreating to her crate. When approached by an unfamiliar person outside, she attempts to hide behind “mom.” If another dog is present, she may be able to overcome her fear and play with the other dog. When our volunteer met her, Nova was able to eat some treats the volunteer tossed to her. After several minutes hanging out and walking together, she ventured a little closer to the volunteer but was not ready to be approached or touched. Nova needs a quiet home with only one or two adults who are willing to work to build her confidence. At this point, at about 1 year of age, building Nova’s confidence is likely to be difficult; her adopters will need to understand this and be prepared to love her for who she is, even if she may always be the dog who needs to be in a “safe room” when guests come over. Nova is about 1 year old, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. She has no known health issues. She is housetrained and feels safest in her crate. She may be a German shepherd or a shepherd mix. Interested? Please get in touch via email (ffocas4pets@gmail.com) or through Adoptapet. We’ll ask you to fill out a rehoming application to keep this process as safe as possible for all involved—especially Nova!

Story
Doc is a fun loving dog. His nickname is Grogu. He just wants to please anyone he is with. He has great leash manners and loves to play fetch. He carries his ball wherever he goes.He is on the smaller side so it makes him ideal for any home situation. He wiggles so hard he hits himself in the face. He is also one of the abandoned 11. He will crawl into your lap when you are sitting with him. He would fit into an active lifestyle or one that is more Netflix and chill. He is microchipped, neutered, and fully vaccinated. Great things do come in small packages. ##2042792##

Story
Coyote is a sweet young German Shepherd who was rescued and then abandoned along with 39 others. We took him in and now he has learned to trust again after facing a difficult past of neglect and abuse. Coyote is incredibly loyal once he feels safe. He will be your best friend for life. Coyote is anxious to learn especially when he is rewarded with rubs and kisses. He has excellent leash manners and is a pleasure to walk. He is compatible with most dogs as long as there is a proper introduction. Supervision during introduction will allow for an easy transition in a home with another dog. He isn't compatible with cats and hasn't had exposure to children. Coyote deserves the chance of a loving home to call his own, ##2043739##
