Story
You wouldn't think it'd be so hard to find a foster or adopter for a beautiful young mal, but here we are posting time and time again over the last few months with absolutely no interest in our girl Phoenix! Abandoned at just 8 months old—pregnant, scared, and left on an elderly man’s property in Corpus Christi, TX—her journey has been nothing short of remarkable. She was rescued just 24 hours before going into labor, and despite being a baby herself, Phoenix gave birth to seven puppies. While not all survived, she fulfilled her motherly duties and is now ready for her Second Start in life. Phoenix is a 1-year-old Malinois mix with the energy and drive typical of her breed. She’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and has the potential to excel at activities like agility, nose work, or obedience training. Her foster mom says she’s a quick study and loves a good challenge. She can sniff out treats like a pro and thrives on both physical and mental stimulation. Phoenix is already crate trained and house trained, though she may need a day or two to adjust to a new environment. While she does well with other dogs, she isn’t the biggest fan of cats, so a cat-free home is ideal--though she is learning to co-exist with them. Phoenix’s ideal family is active and experienced, ready to help her channel her boundless energy into fun and fulfilling activities. Whether it’s hiking, mountain biking, or long runs, she’s the perfect fitness partner. Puzzle toys and training sessions also keep her sharp and happy. Let’s get Phoenix on the road to Virginia and into the loving home she deserves! If you’re ready for a loyal, active, and intelligent companion, Phoenix might just be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Kevin— a super energetic, playful, busy guy with a lot of love to give! Kevin is a Belgian Mal, pit, shepherd so definitely needs someone who is familiar with large, strong breeds. NEEDS: A loving home that can give him tons of TLC and exercise. A home that can help him navigate his stressors (door/house guarding) as he does redirect on other dogs if triggered. If managed properly Kevin is the best most kissy, lovey, cuddly, playful dog! He just needs a home where he is not overstimulated or feels the need to constantly be "on guard." SHOULDN'T LIVE WITH: Kevin should not live with any cats, small dogs, or any other small pets that could trigger his prey drive as it is a bit extreme. That being said, he would make a PHENOMENAL companion for someone who loves the great outdoors and hunting, fishing, etc. as he loves a job! He can live with kids as long as they are introduced properly and monitored (though the older probably the better).

Story
Echo is a beautiful 10-month-old Belgian Malinois with a sweet, sensitive spirit. She’s had a rough start to life and is still learning that the world is a safe place, but with patience and consistency, she’s made wonderful progress. She’s extremely loyal and forms strong bonds with her person. Once she trusts you, she becomes affectionate and eager to please. She enjoys quiet walks in nature, gentle playtime, and the comfort of familiar routines. Echo is fearful of loud noises, strangers, and busy environments. She needs a calm, structured home where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace. She’s done best in quiet outdoor spaces and is most comfortable when off-leash in secure, familiar areas. She is currently working on becoming more comfortable on leash and has shown great courage getting used to elevators and new experiences.

Story
We are moving soon and need to find Gunner a new loving home by the first week of July! Gunner is a great dog. He likes to play fetch and loves to play frisbee. He's a great running companion too. Per the Belgium Malinois breed Gunner barks and is protective. He does quickly settle but it can seem intense for 5-10 seconds. We have 3 teenagers and a toddler with kids coming and going. He will bark and growl at any non-family members but settles with treats. We have 2 cats. He chases 1 but the other put him in his place so does not bother her as much. We have another dog that Gunner will rough house with until she has had enough. We do not have time to get Gunner the time and exercise he needs and would love to find him a good home. He is loyal and will be a great companion!

Story
Meli is a loving, energetic, and playful dog who was rescued from a shelter in the DC area. Born in July 2023, she is now about a year and a half old and full of life. Unfortunately, due to recent changes in my circumstances, I am no longer able to provide Meli with the care and attention she deserves. I believe she would thrive in a home where she can receive the time, love, and dedication she needs to live her best life. Meli truly is a special companion, and she will bring so much joy to her future family.
