Story
Seeking a highly qualified foster or adopter looking for a working or sport dog. Lycan is trained in German, knows bite work, has high ball drive, and was scheduled for euthanasia before we stepped in. Seeing the intelligence behind this dog, we sent him straight to a trainer. They confirmed what we already suspected—someone put real, professional work into him. He reads your hands, responds to commands, and is ready to work. He’s engaged, aware, and looking for direction. Maybe he flunked out of a program. Maybe he got lost. He didn’t have a tag or microchip, so we may never know. While we don’t know his exact breed or mix, some have suggested he may come from KNPV lines. That’s not our area to confirm, but we welcome feedback from those familiar with this type of dog. Aside from his drive, he’s excellent with people. Lycan will give you his paw and roll onto his back the second he meets you. He’s social, confident, and genuinely enjoys interaction. He loves to work. He wants a job. That’s where he’s happiest. Lycan is five years old, about 70 lbs, neutered, heartworm negative, and currently in boarding with a trainer until the right home is found. He’s medium to high drive and currently reactive to male dogs, which is manageable for someone experienced and familiar with dogs like him. We are looking for a specific home: sport, protection, or working, or simply someone who can handle this type of dog. Someone experienced who understands what they’re looking at and actually wants a dog like this. This is not a casual pet. He needs to be engaged and given a job so he can live up to his full potential, because that’s what he truly enjoys. Transport available anywhere in the U.S. to approved applicants. Current location: Houston, TX See #Lycan0192 on Facebook for more info.

Story
My daughter agreed to take Zora from a rescue but then had some personal setbacks which forced her to give up the dog. Zora tried to climb a fence and got her paw cut by chicken wire, and I agreed to take her while she was healing. She is a beautiful, protective, 3 year old Belgian Malinois with perfect markings and I immediately established a bond with her. Unfortunately, I am too old to keep her and I cannot offer her the life she deserves. She is extremely active, playful and is always by my side, which prevents me from doing the things I need to do. She is also very protective, she does not like strangers or even relatives, and she will bark and growl at people if they get too close. It does not appear that she has had any professional training, and I believe that would help her to respond better to people. She is spayed so cannot be bred. I really love this dog, but she deserves a better life than I can offer her.

Story
Lucca is an 8-year-old Belgian Malinois (turning 9 in September) that I adopted in 2019. She is incredibly intelligent, loyal, and emotionally aware, and she bonds closely with her person. She thrives in an environment with structure, attention, and consistent mental and physical engagement. Lucca has a strong personality and does best as the only pet in the home, where she can receive focused attention. I am looking for an experienced owner familiar with working breeds (Malinois, German Shepherd, etc.) who understands their needs and can provide daily exercise, engagement, and leadership. Due to my current workload, health considerations, and time constraints, I’m no longer able to give her the level of attention she needs to truly thrive. This decision is about finding her the right environment.

Story
Gwen – The Right Dog, Waiting for the Right Home Gwen is a genuinely good dog—she just needs the right environment to prove it. She’s the kind of dog that doesn’t demand attention. She watches, she learns, and when she feels safe, she gives you everything. Gwen is soft, affectionate, and naturally handler-oriented. Once she decompresses, she becomes deeply connected—following you from room to room, settling at your feet, and choosing you every time. And here’s the part that matters—Gwen already has a foundation. She is crate trained, has solid house manners, understands basic 7 commands and walks on leash with no pulling. She understands structure. She responds to leadership. She is not a project dog. But she is a sensitive dog. In a calm, structured environment, Gwen relaxes, opens up, and becomes an incredibly easy, rewarding companion. In high-energy, unpredictable environments—especially with younger children—she can become overwhelmed and unsure. Not reactive without reason, not unstable—just honest about her limits. Gwen will only be placed in a home with children 10 years or older. She communicates appropriately. She tries to create space. She looks for guidance. That’s not a flaw. That’s a dog asking for clarity. Gwen doesn’t need to be fixed—she needs to be placed correctly. In the right home, you’re not getting a “maybe” dog. You’re getting: A dog with a solid foundation A dog that walks well, settles well, and lives well A dog that will bond deeply and stay loyal A dog that loves and thrives with other dogs of all ages She has also shown neutral curiosity around cats with no clear prey drive, and with proper structure and introductions, may be able to coexist. Gwen is for someone who values connection over chaos. Someone who understands that the best dogs aren’t always the loudest—they’re the ones who quietly become everything. She’s ready. She’s just waiting for someone to meet her where she is—and give her the life she’s been trying to step into.

Story
Kiara – A Good Dog Who Needs the Right Environment Kiara didn’t get the start most dogs do. She came from a backyard “oops” litter without proper early socialization, which made the world overwhelming early on. Through structured training and consistent guidance at K9netic Pack, she has made a significant transformation into a confident, affectionate, and capable dog. Kiara was previously adopted and returned—not because she is a bad dog, but because the environment was not the right fit. She was placed in a high foot-traffic home with a lot of movement and little structure. For a dog like Kiara, that kind of environment creates overstimulation and confusion. Without clear leadership, she became overwhelmed. She also sheds, which is normal for her breed mix but was a contributing factor for the previous home. This is not a reflection of Kiara’s quality—it’s a reminder that placement matters. Temperament & Behavior Friendly, affectionate, and social with humans of all ages Playful, goofy, and engaging personality Handler-oriented and enjoys connection Does best with structure, routine, and clear expectations Kiara is a working-breed mix—intelligent, aware, and responsive when given direction. Training & Foundation Kiara comes with a strong, professionally built foundation: House manners Leash manners (walks well with no pulling) Socialization and neutrality in public environments Crate familiarity Foundational obedience including the basic 7 commands She understands how to exist in a structured environment and is set up for continued success. Dogs: Dog selective Best with calm, neutral, well-socialized dogs Requires proper, structured introductions Also thrives as the only dog Cats: Shows little interest, has never fully engaged with the cats here on property Children: Kiara is great with humans of all ages and has shown friendly, appropriate interactions. Ideal Home Kiara is best suited for: A structured, lower-chaos home An adopter who will provide leadership and consistency A home that understands working-breed needs Someone prepared for normal shedding of a Doberman/Shepherd mix She is not a “hands-off” dog—but she is absolutely a capable and rewarding one. Final Thoughts Kiara has already proven she can learn, adapt, and grow. She is not the problem—the environment was. In the right home, Kiara will be: Loyal Affectionate Playful Well-mannered and engaged She is a good dog with a strong foundation who simply needs the right structure and placement to thrive. 📍 Located in Poolesville, MD 🐾 Spayed, fully vetted, and professionally trained 📚 Adoption includes post-adoption support through K9netic Pack
