Story
Meet Sander! Sander is about 6 months old, 49 lbs, and he may have some German Shepherd in his mix! In his foster home, he is working hard on his house-training, crate training, and is learning to walk well on leash. He could go to a home with kids 10+, cats (might chase), and other dogs. His foster says, "Sander is sweet, silly and affectionate. He likes to get long hugs and kisses on his nose! He loves to play one on one with another dog, and is vocal while he plays, but he settles down when you ask him to. He even likes to talk to you when he gets excited or wants some attention. He has bursts of energy while playing, but likes to have rest and naps in-between. He hasn't had much opportunity yet to be around other dogs, but I'm sure he will gain confidence and be comfortable when he gets to spend more time with them. He is so funny, when you give him a treat he will sometimes play with it, throws it around and jumps on it before eating it! He really likes chewing on bones and the bones with the peanut butter inside. He has gotten the hang of sitting and the command wait. He will sit and wait for you to put his leash on him before going outside for a walk. He also knows the command off or get off, you might have to encourage him to do so, but he knows what it means and will listen. He is smart and will learn so much more as he continues to grow. He will be a great family dog and bring laughs and fun to his adopter(s) in his new forever home!"He is available for adoption in Hopkinton by appointment. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

Story
Bailey is highly energetic and gets along with the two other dogs in the household. She needs a fenced in back yard to be able to run free. Crate trained. She is very shy with new people but will warm up and give the best snuggles and love once she is trusting of you. Better to be homed with children 10 and over.

Story
Before calling about this dog, please read our adoption requirements at: https://gsrne.org/requirements-for-adopting-from-gsrne/ Hi! My name is Muks, and could You be my Forever Family? But first, I have to tell you something a bit embarrassing from a dog’s perspective. I couldn’t believe when I read in Wikipedia’s ‘Wiktionary’ that the definition of my name is “the sound of someone falling over”! They said my name is an onomatopoeia, whatever that is. How can this be? I never fall over! In fact, I love to be the dog on the go whether it’s hiking with my foster dad, playing outside with the kids, chasing balls in the backyard, or going to training and learning all about how to be the best dog I can be! The only time I admit to falling over (well…rolling over, actually) is when belly rubs are coming my way. And if you scratch my tail, I’ll even do my special little happy dance for you! At first I was a little nervous meeting other dogs as I hadn’t been around a lot of them. But with training and help from my foster dad, I’ve been told I’m more confident, respectful, and friendly with dogs. In fact, I’ve become quite the young man. And I’m way well-behaved in the home - no counter surfing, no jumping on furniture, and I give people their space when they have work to do. Yay, me! And I’m not sure I want to live alone. Since I’m such a nice young man but could still stand some confidence building, I wouldn’t mind living with the right female dog, a good-natured pal I could play with and continue to learn from - like the all-important mission of dogs the world over: how to convince people to give us more treats! And since I’m not quite two years old I have a lot of energy to burn and would love it if you’d take me for training, maybe explore doing scent-work, agility, or other fun stuff to do. And when the day is done, just roll over for those belly rubs. I can’t wait to meet you!

Story
Are you an active person seeking a likeminded companion for life’s adventures? Well then Tank just may be your guy. Tank is a gorgeous, athletic 2 year old male who’s always on the go. You know those hilarious Facebook/Insta Reels or TikToks your friends send you about the dogs carrying the log 6x the size of their body? This would most definitely be Tank! He loves everything play, he is not a couch potato and will keep you on your toes. We suspect he is likely a working line GSD so he has great drive. He wants to please and needs mental stimulation. We believe he has potential for SAR work or other sporting events. He’d make a great hiking partner. Tank is affectionate and loves to be with his people. He did have a female GSD housemate so, with proper introductions, he could live with another similarly sized female tolerant of his energy. Like all GSDs of his caliber, training and routine are a must. If you make the commitment to Tank, you will have one amazing sidekick. Apply today.
