Story
Life happens fast, if you don't stop every once in a while and look around, you might miss it! I came to GDR with my siblings and Mama, who are all adopted now yaaay, and now I'm waiting for it to be my turn to be adopted! Dodger is a happy and excited boy who loves to wag his tail and makes lots of noise, just like his sister! He has a ton of energy to spare and wants to use it running around, playing fetch, or going on long walks. He'll need lots of activity and would be great with another active dog and active kids :) Dodger is a very sweet and polite boy also who loves to cuddle on the couch or bed, or sit down right next to you. Some basic information about Dodger; he is male, Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix, and is large-sized (60-99lbs). Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Meet Ranger, the intelligent and active Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and boundless energy. This handsome boy is a fast learner and has mastered essential commands like sit, down, wait, and shake. He's so clever that he tackled a level 3 puzzle on his first try! Ranger is a well-behaved and well-trained pup, making him a pleasure to have around the house. He's house trained, crate trained, and shows no signs of destructiveness indoors. However, he does experience some separation anxiety when his human leaves the house, which is why he's kept in his crate during errands. But don't worry, when he's playing in the backyard with his furry friend, he's perfectly content and doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. Ranger is an active boy who loves going on walks, and he'll gladly accompany you on all your outdoor adventures. While Ranger is intelligent and affectionate, he can be barrier reactive, meaning he may react when he encounters certain barriers or boundaries. Patience and positive reinforcement training can help him overcome this behavior. This is very typical behavior for both breeds and he absolutely has to be adopted into a Mali/GSD knowledgeable family/ Ranger was in pretty rough shape when rescued and the vet initially thought he had an intestinal disease. Nothing was definitively diagnosed but the vet believes he has small intestinal issues. He is on a folate vitamin daily and will just need annual lab work and a high quality RAW FOOD diet. Ranger's charm and charisma shine through in the photos and videos provided, capturing his playful and loving nature. If you're looking for a smart, active, and affectionate companion, Ranger is the perfect match. Give him the love and care he deserves, and he'll reward you with loyalty and companionship like no other. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB: 02/08/2021 Requires another dog in home: No, picky about her friends Okay with dogs of all sizes: Not good with small dogs - read more in profile  Okay with cats: No, dog savvy cats only Okay with children under 12 years old: Older, considerate kids only Requires a fenced yard: No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Raquel. I am a stunning, wrinkly-faced young adult female Belgian Malinois/Boxer mix with an adorable underbite who’s the perfect mix of energetic and relaxed. I am an unpredictable gal with a high prey drive so cats are not a good fit for me; I’m reactive when it comes to other dogs or unknown/sudden sounds like bikes whizzing by etc.; and I’m a pack follower so if there’s a fight, I may feel compelled to join the chaos. That said, I went to a training facility where there were many other dogs and I did great so I think with time, patience, and continued training I may overcome these ‘quirks’ of mine!! Hee, hee! Anyway, my favorite activities include cuddling with my people; going for leashed walks; snoozing on the couch; eating; playing with squeaky toys; chewing on bones/sticks; chasing the cat; chilling with my canine sib; running zoomies; and barking at strangers outside! I don’t like a lot of commotion and have been known to bite if someone comes into the house when foster mom is not home. I am, however, a very smart girl who will not only give myself a kenneled ‘time-out’ if I’m barking too much but I am potty trained and I know commands like “sit”, “down”, “kennel/crate”, and “heel”! Seriously, how brilliant am I!?! I am a great listener too which makes training a lot easier! Hee, hee!! I know that I’m a bit unpredictable right now but I’m still young and I really am a sweetheart who simply wants to find unconditional love in my own furever home with a patient family who will NEVER give up on me! My heart is SO full of love that I really want to share with YOU…please be my new family, I assure you I’m worth it! Love Raquel NOTE: Raquel has had a DNA test and is 38% Belgian Malinois, 18% Boxer and 17% American Pitbull Terrier Note that this dog has been treated for heartworm  and will need monthly heartworm preventatives year round for life.  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.      ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Snapshot of Trooper: Size: Large, 75lbs Activity Level: High Noise Level: moderate barking but quiet in the house Good with Dogs: yes Good with Cats: unknown Good with Kids: No Good with Strangers: Skittish and slow introduction but warms up quickly. Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Shedding: Yes Hi my name is Trooper: I think I'm pretty much a pure German Shepard but its tough to tell because nobody knows where I came from. I was found on the streets, severely underweight and in pretty bad shape, but finally got taken into rescue and was given some much-needed love and care. During this whole journey, they told me that I am likely about 3.5 years old and although I was skinny at the time, they helped me get back to a normal weight of about 75lbs. Being on the streets made me pretty weary of new people, so I am not a huge fan of strangers and don't like being approached. Because of this, I don't think I would do the best around young kids; however, after you give me some time to check you out, I do warm up quick. I haven't been around many cats, but I do know that I am a fan of playing with the dog friends my family has introduced me to. Aside from some of my skittish behaviors and fear towards new people, I actually am very smart. My foster parents tell me that I am one of the smartest dogs they know and love making me do all these ridiculous things. I know the basic commands like sit, shake, stay, and lay down, but also know a few others like when to place on my mat and can go to my kennel when being told...usually. I also am big fan of play wrestling with my foster parents but am still working on calming myself down when they tell me they're done. I can get a little mouthy (I call them teeth kisses) but have learned that this is a bad trait to have, so I have been working hard to stop doing that as well. I can definitely keep up with an energetic lifestyle and love to play and go on walks. When I am not playing, I don't mind lounging around. I typically like staying near my people and making sure I know what is happening at all times, and definitely love some cuddles and belly scratches. Overall, I know there are some things I need to work on, but I am convinced that if someone can continue to work with me, I can make a great companion. I love being outside so would love a place where I can still explore the yard and have room to run around. I wouldn't mind sharing a house with another pup as long as they can manage playing rough sometimes. While I might not do great in a crazy home with kids and tons of new people, I would love to be someone's buddy for life. Trooper is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. Adoption Fee: $400 + applicable tax Trooper is currently on medication for skin allergies. With his reactivity and anxiety he will need further training and possibly medication to help him. My foster family says I am very smart and learn so fast. I am potty trained and I let my foster family know when I need to go out. I am learning how to sleep in my crate at night and getting the hang of it. I love walking and am getting better on my leash daily. I love everyone I meet and will kiss you all day. I love other dogs and cats but need to learn how to say hello appropriately. (I have a lot of energy). I do not want the other dog in the house to have my toys or my food, which is called resource guarding. My foster family is helping me work through this. Lady is a sweet dog who loves anything and everyone she meets. She is shy at first but works through it. This beautiful girl is looking forward to finding her furrever home.
