🐾 Meet Waffles! 🐾 Breed: Belgian Malinois Mix Status: Spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventions Waffles is a stunning, smart, and athletic Belgian Malinois mix looking for her forever family! She’s past the puppy stage but still full of energy and enthusiasm. This girl is incredibly sweet and eager to please, but she will thrive best with a breed knowledgeable owner who understands both the mental and physical needs of a Malinois. Waffles loves a good game of fetch, and she’ll happily play for hours if you let her. She has had professional training, which makes her a fantastic partner for someone who enjoys structure, exercise, and continued learning. Her trainer is also willing to work with her new adopters should they like to continue her training. Like many Malinois, she has prey drive and will definitely keep the squirrels out of your yard. With cats, she’ll need slow, careful introductions. If they run, she may want to chase. She does well with other non-dominant dogs, but proper introductions are important to set her up for success. If you’re looking for a loyal, athletic, and intelligent companion who will love adventure as much as she loves downtime with her people, Waffles could be the perfect match. Could Waffles be your new best friend? Apply today and give this amazing girl the home she deserves! Meet Remus Lupin – A Gentle Soul Ready to Find His Pack! Just like his famous namesake, Remus Lupin is a quiet, kind hearted guy with so much love to give. This handsome 1–2-year-old Belgian Malinois may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a little patience and a few tasty treats, and you’ll quickly discover an incredibly sweet, loyal companion. Remus is currently building his confidence and can be a bit nervous in new environments or around loud noises. He’s looking for a family that understands every dog learns at their own pace and is willing to help him continue blossoming into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. One thing Remus has no shortage of is a desire to learn! He’s incredibly eager to please, making him a fantastic training partner. He’s highly food motivated, so teaching new skills is both fun and rewarding for him. While toys aren’t quite as exciting yet for training, he does enjoy chasing after a tennis ball…but he’s still figuring out that bringing it back is also part of the game! As a young Belgian Malinois, Remus will thrive with an active family committed to providing him with continued training, mental enrichment, and plenty of opportunities to build his confidence. In return, you’ll gain an incredibly devoted best friend who is ready to grow right alongside you. Remus is neutered, current on all vaccinations, and ready to head home with his fur-ever family today! If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will reward your patience with unwavering devotion, Remus Lupin is ready to become part of your pack. You will love this boy!! Story
Pilot is a handsome 2-year-old Shepherd mix weighing in at about 80 pounds of love, loyalty, and personality. This big guy may look tough, but with his people, he's an affectionate goofball who doesn't seem to realize just how large he is. Whether he's tossing his toys in the air, carrying sticks around the yard like prized treasures, or greeting his favorite humans with happy "roo-roo" noises and full-body wiggles, Pilot has a way of making everyone smile.Pilot is fully house-trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside by whining or heading to the door. He sleeps through the night without issue and does well when left in his own room while his family is away. While crates aren't a good fit for him due to anxiety, he has proven to be respectful and non-destructive when given a comfortable space of his own. This smart boy enjoys daily walks, playing fetch, running around the yard, snuggling with his people, and earning tasty treats. He has a moderate energy level and would thrive with an adopter who can provide regular exercise and enrichment. A securely fenced yard is ideal so he can safely stretch his legs and explore.Pilot has been working with an experienced trainer and behaviorist who is very familiar with his breed mix, and they have wonderful things to say about him. Since beginning training, Pilot has made impressive progress and continues to build his confidence and skills. He is a fast learner who responds well to clear guidance, loves to work, and is highly motivated by tasty treats. His training will continue while he is in foster care to help set him up for long-term success. To help make the transition as smooth as possible, Pilot's adoption also includes an additional in-home training session with his trainer. This gives his new family the opportunity to learn what works best for Pilot, get everyone on the same page, and address any questions or concerns as he settles into his forever home.Pilot currently lives successfully with two large-breed dogs. He can be selective of dogs that he is accepting of, so introductions to new dogs should be done slowly, intentionally, and with great care. He has also lived with cats and can coexist peacefully once he gets to know them. New cats are very interesting to him, but he responds appropriately to their boundaries and corrections.Pilot's story has shaped who he is today. He came into rescue as a young puppy from an abandonment case and has experienced multiple home transitions throughout his life. Because of this, he forms deep bonds with his people and looks to them for comfort and security. What Pilot wants most is a stable, committed family where he can finally feel at home forever.Potential adopters should know that Pilot is very protective of his home and yard. He has a bite history involving both dogs and humans, though his interactions with people have been warning bites that did not break skin. He is not a dog who will welcome unfamiliar visitors into his space right away, and he will need experienced adopters who understand management, structure, and proper introductions. For this reason, we recommend a home with adults or older teens and adopters who are willing to continue helping Pilot build confidence and maintain clear boundaries. In return, Pilot offers unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and the kind of companionship that only comes from a dog who truly loves his people. If you're looking for a devoted best friend and have the experience and commitment to help him succeed, Pilot may be the perfect addition to your family. If you are interested in Pilot, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Looking for double the love? Meet Maxx and Trig, our very special 7-Paw Special! Maxx and Trig are two remarkable 2-year-old rescue boys whose paths crossed after very different beginnings in opposite corners of Minnesota. What started as a chance meeting quickly turned into an incredible friendship, and today these two are rarely far from one another. They play together, nap together, ride in the car together, and have helped each other heal in ways only dogs can.Trig is a handsome 70-pound brindle mixed breed with a heart as big as his smile. After suffering a traumatic injury that resulted in the amputation of his front right leg, he has amazed everyone with his resilience. His wound has healed, his medications are finished, and he has embraced life on three legs with determination and joy. During his recovery, his stroller became an important part of his journey, and while he's proud of how far it helped him come, he no longer needs it for daily adventures. These days Trig happily walks up to a mile twice a day with a few rest breaks, taking shorter outings during hot weather. His dream day now includes a car ride to a fun destination followed by a leisurely walk.Through every step of Trig's recovery, Maxx has been right by his side. This gentle 85-pound Shepherd quickly learned to match Trig's pace, patiently stopping whenever his buddy needed a break. Maxx could easily keep going, but he's happiest simply enjoying the walk together. Watching these two move in sync is a beautiful reminder that friendship isn't about speed, it's about staying together.Outside of their walks, Maxx and Trig are discovering all the best parts of being dogs. They love playing fetch with balls and Frisbees, enjoy car rides, and have wonderfully matched energy levels. Trig often seeks Maxx out for snuggles, while Maxx quietly watches over his best friend. Their bond is truly something special.Trig is house trained, gentle with children, and enjoys the simple things in life: cozy naps, moderate walks, and spending time with both people and canine companions. Despite everything he's endured, he remains incredibly loving, trusting, and eager to make new friends. His name was changed from Tig to Trig as a nod to his Tigger-like personality and the triangle stance that now carries him confidently through life.Maxx is every bit the gentle giant. He loves belly rubs, knows several commands including sit, shake, lay down, stay, and come, and is incredibly people-focused and eager to please. He is fully house trained, rides wonderfully in the car, and is learning that free roam while his people are away is much more enjoyable than a crate.Like many young, large dogs, Maxx is still polishing his leash manners. He is strong and can become excited by squirrels, interesting smells, or other dogs on walks, so he'll do best with an adopter who can confidently manage his size while continuing his training. After a good walk, he's ready to stretch out on the deck or curl up inside for a long nap. He's a lovable goofball who simply wants to be close to his people and hear what a good boy he is.While Maxx and Trig are each available for adoption individually, we would absolutely love to see them stay together. Their friendship has become such an important part of both of their lives, and they truly bring out the best in one another.Their ideal home includes a securely fenced yard, adults or a family with older, dog-savvy children, and room for two large boys to stretch out and relax. Trig continues to build strength every day, so adopters willing to encourage his continued rehabilitation will help him thrive. A home with experience caring for dogs with medical needs is a plus. If adopted separately, both boys would benefit from living with another friendly resident dog. Maxx is not recommended for homes with cats or young children under 13 due to his size.If you're looking for twice the companionship, twice the laughter, and a friendship that will warm your heart every single day, Maxx and Trig are ready to meet you. Sometimes the very best things really do come in pairs, even when they only have seven paws between them.If you are interested in these boys, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $800 for both. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Lexi is a 3-month-old German Shepherd mixed breed puppy with a spunky, independent personality and a whole lot of love to give! At 18 pounds, she’s expected to be a medium-sized dog when fully grown.Lexi is very dog-friendly and loves to wrestle and play with her canine friends, but she’s also perfectly happy entertaining herself. She has a serious love for toys and will happily gather them from the toy box and pile them onto her dog bed. Rope toys and balls are some of her favorites! She’s doing great with crate training and sleeps through the night most nights. She also settles nicely in her crate while her foster is at work. Lexi is still working on house training, but she’s making great progress.Lexi took a few days to warm up to her foster and is becoming more comfortable with being handled and cuddled every day. She’s a moderate-energy puppy who enjoys a good play session but is generally calm when she’s not busy having fun.Lexi would likely enjoy having another friendly dog in her forever home to play with and learn from, although she does not necessarily require a canine companion. She does not require a fenced yard, and she would love a family ready to give her the patience, guidance, playtime, and love every puppy deserves. If you are interested in Lexi, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550.
