Story
Danu is a 3-year-old Shepherd mix and a total goofball! Weighing in at around 80 pounds, this gentle giant is playful, loves attention, and is looking for a new best friend. This goofy girl is house-trained and crate-trained—she is very smart and eager to please, so any future training will be a breeze, too. She does have some separation anxiety and may be vocal when left alone, so will need a home without shared walls (no apartments/townhomes). While medication has helped, she’s made great progress and continues to settle into her foster home. Danu does well with structure, companionship, and enrichment, and would thrive with a family that’s home often or has a flexible schedule.Danu loves to make friends, so she would be a great family dog! She has previously lived with young children (ages 2 and 5). She has done well when living with dog-savvy cats, but we recommend a home without feline friends just to be safe. She LOVES meeting other dogs—she's enthusiastic but respectful during introductions. She’s a medium-energy pup who enjoys a long walk, backyard fetch sessions, and chewing on her favorite bone. She would benefit from yard time but has done well on a long leash at home. When she's all tuckered out, she loves some quality cuddle time—she loves to rest her head in your lap! If you're looking for a new sidekick, Danu is waiting to meet you!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Daphne is an adorable 1-year-old, 47-pound German Shepherd mix with a light brown, short coat and boundless energy. This playful pup is already house-trained and crate-trained, though she prefers not to spend extended periods in her crate.Daphne has a lively personality and thrives with regular exercise. She loves running, throwing her toys for herself, and spinning in circles when she gets excited—it’s impossible not to smile around her! While she’s shy at first, Daphne warms up quickly and will become your loyal shadow, following you everywhere. She’s still adjusting to new people, dogs, and environments. A confident resident dog in her new home is required to help her build confidence and continue learning. While she’s eager to meet other dogs, she likes to take her time to get comfortable and then she’s ready to play! She hasn’t been introduced to kids or cats, but her high prey drive may make her incompatible with feline friends.Daphne is happiest with an active family who can match her energy level and provide plenty of opportunities to play and explore. A home with a fenced yard is a must to let her stretch her legs safely. While she’s not particularly vocal, she may bark when unsure about something or whine if she misses out on a good squirrel chase! If you’re ready to give this sweet, spirited pup the love and patience she needs to thrive, Daphne will reward you with endless affection and entertainment. Story
Luna is an 8-year-old German Shepherd mix, weighing in at 85 pounds of pure love. She's the perfect blend of playful and chill, always ready for a walk or a cozy snuggle session. Luna's favorite pastime? Enjoying her squeaky toy, Poppy—a pop tart-shaped toy that she loves to gently squeak while relaxing.Luna is the epitome of a loyal, gentle, and protective companion. She forms deep bonds with her family, making her the perfect guardian. While she can be a bit wary of strangers, especially in her home, Luna is working with a professional trainer to manage her anxiety around new people. With continued training, she’ll keep growing and learning to be more comfortable with unfamiliar faces.Fully house-trained, Luna knows exactly when it’s time to go outside, signaling by lying down or heading to the back door. She’s also crate-trained, viewing her crate as a safe and relaxing haven.Luna enjoys the company of other dogs and gets along well with her foster family's resident pup. She’s friendly with neighbor dogs too, though her interactions are mainly through the fence. Currently, she lives with two teenage girls and does wonderfully with them. However, because of her cautious nature around strangers, Luna might be best suited to a home without small children. She’s also not compatible with cats.Even though Luna is alert to people outside, she's unbothered by typical house or neighborhood sounds, making her well-suited for homes with shared walls. A fenced yard is a must for Luna—she will need plenty of room to run safely! While she does need calming medication for vet visits, she’s otherwise healthy and ready to be someone’s perfect companion.Luna would thrive in a quieter home where visitors are infrequent. She’s a gentle soul who will give endless love and loyalty to her new family.Luna’s past might be a mystery, but her future is bright. If you’re looking for a devoted, loving companion, Luna could be the perfect fit for your home.If you are interested in Luna, fill out an application using the link below to get the ball rolling!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Story
Name: Oso Breeds: German Shepherd Age: Adult Sex: Male Size: Extra Large Oso is a big German Shepherd surrendered due to continued issues between him and the other dog in the home. Oso took the brunt of the fighting it seemed but that hasn’t left him with any ill will towards other dogs. In fact, he loves other dogs and loves to play with them! He is an absolute lovebug, loves his people and will follow his owners to the ends of the earth if they asked him to. He is not good with cats. Oso does need a diet. He came in 110 lbs and a good 30 lbs overweight. He’s well on his way to losing weight and becoming a healthy pooch but he needs a home committed to keeping him on his diet and keeping him active. He absolutely loves his walks and playtime though! Oso is housetrained well and used to being left loose for the workday. He hates the crate and will fight tooth and nail so needs a home who is ok not crating. Oso is a big lovebug who is going to make a forever home so happy they chose him. Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 6 months of age, deworming, microchip and current preventatives Interested in adopting? Story
Name: Hurricane Breeds: Lab/ Shepherd Mix Age: Young Adult Sex: Male Size: Large Hurricane is a Lab/Shepherd mix, about 8 months old who leads with his heart in every situation and has no idea he is a big boy. He is nothing but love and joy. He runs around with pure abandon and gives his heart completely to everyone he meets. Hurricane loves other dogs but can be overwhelming for more mellow or smaller dogs. No cats for him please though! Hurricane spent a lot of time existing on his own in a yard before so he is learning all about being in the house and he is loving the attention and being with his people. Housetraining is going well and he crates nicely for the workday. He is smart even if sometimes engaging his brain is low on his priority list. Hurricane is the true embodiment of love in a big furry body. Requirements: No cats Adoption Fee: $600 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 6 months of age, deworming, microchip and current preventatives Interested in adopting? Story
Name: Dizzy Breeds: German Shepherd Mix Age: Young Adult Sex: Female Size: Medium Dizzy is a whirlwind of activity and shenanigans! If you are looking for a peaceful pooch to laze around with you, this is not the girl for you. If you are looking for an active companion for hikes, dog sports, adventures, and learning anything you want to teach her, Dizzy is right up your alley! She is a Shepherd mix, about 45 lbs and 10 months old. She is housetrained and crates well for the workday as long as she has an outlet for her energy prior and something to do in the crate (kong, chew bone, puzzle toy, etc). Dizzy is great with other large breed dogs but no small animals or cats for her please! She is best placed with adults because she still has that puppy mindset where people are her personal jungle gym and she hasn’t quite learned that kids aren’t just bowling pins to knock down and then drive-by kiss on her way while she runs onto the next activity. Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $550 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 6 months of age, deworming, microchip and current preventatives Interested in adopting?
