Story
Clara is a 6-month-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with the heart of an oversized lap dog. At 35 lbs, she’s a sweet, smart girl who doesn't believe in being too close to her humans. She will often try to lay on top of them and lick their face (personal space is not a thing for her).Clara has moderate energy for her age and breeds. When she's excited, she loves to chase her tail and pounce on balls like a kitten. Clara has been off leash on a walk through the woods with her foster siblings and did well, sticking close to the dogs and recalled easily. She wants to stay near her people or a dog she trusts. She loves playing with squeaky toys, and especially with other dogs, then is perfectly happy relaxing with her humans afterward. Clara can be timid initially with new people but warms up quickly. She would love a confident doggy friend to help her continue building confidence, as barking dogs and loud noises can make her nervous. She does well with cats, respecting their boundaries, and is gentle with kids (though she may jump up when excited to say hello). She’s still working on house training and currently needs frequent potty breaks, including at night. Clara is not crate-trained and does better when left in a room rather than a kennel, as she has some separation anxiety and may whine or claw briefly before settling. She will do best with humans who are home often, though treats, bones, and reassurance go a long way with her. She’s quiet overall and eager to please, as she corrects easily and learns quickly. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate companion who wants to be your shadow and best friend, Clara may be the perfect match. Here are some videos to learn more: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sANP14zfcUU4WRafvQ0_lG_9M7xr-v-b/view?usp=sharinghttps://drive.google.com/file/d/10xcFEm1y6i1UAOF1r89K7QuX0k9iPAfD/view?usp=sharingIf you are interested in Clara, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Story
Wonka is sweet, playful, and ready to steal your heart! This 6-month-old, 34 lb Shepherd mix has classic goofy puppy energy and an even sweeter personality. Because Wonka didn’t have a ton of human interaction early on, he’s still building confidence—but he warms up fast and is eager to learn. He’s smart, food-motivated, and young enough to soak up training. He’s house-trained using a dog door, crates like a champ during mealtime and naps, and has quickly learned that home life is pretty great. He absolutely loves chewing on toys, wrestling with his dog friends, and then winding down with some quality snuggle time once playtime is over. He will need leash training and help growing his confidence with new skills. A secure fenced yard will be required to help him feel safe as he continues to grow and explore the world.Wonka has a great history with other dogs, so new dogs coming and going don’t phase him at all. He’s also lived with cats and does just fine, mostly minding his own business. Kids are fine too! He’s done well with children ages 6–14 and enjoys the attention and activity. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, dog-friendly, kid-friendly pup who’s equal parts playmate and cuddle buddy, Wonka is ready to be your golden ticket. If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Story
This 15-week-old shepherd mix has an irresistible, happy grin! Weighing 30 pounds now, he’s expected to grow into a large dog and will do best in a home ready to guide him through puppyhood and beyond. This young guy is off to a fantastic start with his training. He goes potty outside like a pro and should be easy to house-train with a consistent routine. Limon enjoys sleeping in his crate during nap time and does well following his foster home’s daily rhythm, showing a nice mix of independence and adaptability. While he’s generally quiet, he’s earned the nickname “Awoo” for the adorable little woo sounds he makes, especially when he wants attention.Limon is the perfect blend of playful and cuddly. He loves exploring the yard, wrestling with his sister, chewing on a good bone, and then hopping up on the couch to curl into your lap. Medium-to-high energy and smart, Limon will thrive with mental stimulation, playtime, and a family ready to enjoy both his adventurous side and his sweet, snuggly heart.Limon loves to play with his siblings and the other dogs in his foster home, so he would love a playmate in his future home, but it is not required. With cats, he has shown curiosity without any aggression, though a proper introduction is always recommended. If his future family has kids, he may need supervision for puppy mouthiness but he's a friendly pup.Limon is food motivated and has already learned 'sit', and 'down' is in progress! Wiki is a 6-month-old female Shepherd mix and a shy, gentle puppy. She is still learning that the world, and humans, can be safe and kind. At 25 lbs with a full-body wiggle butt, she’s impossible not to smile at!Wiki didn’t have much human contact early in life, so she’s nervous when meeting people and takes time to warm up. Once she feels safe, though, she’ll quietly ask for pets, lick your hand, or eventually LEAP into bed to snuggle up close! She truly blossoms with patience, consistency, and love. She is about 85% potty trained and uses the dog door well, though she may have occasional accidents when she feels nervous. Wiki is fully crate trained and does excellent in her kennel, it’s her safe space and where she goes when she needs comfort. She loves toys, follows her resident dog closely (especially on leash), and learns a lot by watching the other dogs around her. Wiki does great in a busy foster home with multiple dogs. With cats, she has met dog-savvy cats and was nervous, but overall fine. She takes a little longer to warm up to children, but has met kids ages 6-13.She has normal puppy energy and loves toys! Overall, she's a fairly calm dog otherwise. Wiki will require a fenced yard to help her have her safe space when learning her new home and people. With the right family, this sweet, snuggly girl is going to absolutely shine! If you are interested in Wiki, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Mayberry is a 6-year-old German Shepherd who loves to learn new tricks and tasks! She is a very fast learner, especially when given cheese, but she can be persuaded with almost any treat. But be prepared—she will show her appreciation through lots of kisses.Mayberry is house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping in her crate at night and when home alone. She isn't too much of a barker, and when lounging around or in the kennel, Mayberry will chew on hard bones for hours. She is cautious around strangers and takes a little bit to warm up to you. But once she gets to know you, she'll be stuck on you like glue.In her future home, Mayberry will need a a family who does not have other pets. She hasn't been around children yet, but she will need a home with dog-savvy children at least 13 years old and up who can respect her boundaries.Mayberry enjoys going for walks and getting to smell everything along the way. We're working on leash manners and she is doing well so far. She's extremely playful and loves to run around in the backyard and play fetch for as long as you can throw. Her favorite toys to play with are frisbees, squeaky toys and plush animals. Mayberry has a high prey drive so a fenced yard will be required while she's in training. She may also do well in a home without a fence but enough land where other people and pets aren't nearby. She is a very spunky girl with lots of character and would love to be given a chance with someone who has time to work with her and be patient. If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
HI - I'M FREYA! I'm a sweet and gentle almost 2-year-old Belgian Malinois mix in need of a foster or forever home! I was rescued from a crowded California shelter in the nick of time. While there, I was kenneled with another dog, and was calm and gentle. I love playing with other dogs, and I also tested great with cats! (We have videos!) I would do best with an active person or people who can take me for long walks, hikes and other outings. I weigh about 55-59 lbs. I'm currently still in California, but can be transported to you in Minnesota. Please email for an application.
