ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Meet Chloe!!! She is a 1 1/2 year-old Black Mouth Cur about 54 pounds. Chloe is a sweet and friendly girl who will bark at you at first and then be your best friend after she sniffs you all over. Once she approves of you, watch out because she will give you tons of kisses. She may even push you over on the couch once you are sitting down of course to ensure you do not get up until she has finished giving you all the love and kisses. She is absolutely the best snuggler in the world. She loves her people and just wants to be near. Chloe enjoys the company of other dogs; however, she can be the only dog in the home too. She is playful with other dogs and loves catch, tug of war and running around the back yard. She is able to entertain herself too when given puzzle toys, and treat finding toys, she also loves kongs and tuff chew toys. Chloe co-habitats with children over 12. That is best for her as she can knock kids down when she is playing or trying to give her kisses. Most of all, Chloe loves her people. She enjoys sitting on their laps, next to them on the couch or laying next to their feet as they work from home. She is a people pleaser and wants to be around her people as much as possible. At bedtime, Chloe will snuggle up to you and keep you warm. Chloe is crate trained but does not like the crate. She does not like to feel closed in. She will get anxious in a crate, and we do not want her to feel that way. We understand this and do not want to force her to do anything she is not comfortable with. There are other ways to keep her from going into other rooms if needed. An interesting fun fact about Chloe is she enjoys eating fruit. She enjoys a good melon, watermelon, strawberry, bananas and more. While her foster family is outside enjoying their barbeque, Chloe is right by their side on the ground eating fruit or a burger. This lovable pooch is a true sweetheart. She is looking for a home where she can be loved and spoiled. She will be your best snuggly companion. She loves to eat any treats you offer, especially baby carrots! She is very treat motivated to learn new things and is very curious about the outdoors. Chloe's ideal home is one filled with love, attention and plenty of opportunities to play and explore. If you're searching for a loyal companion to bring joy and happiness into your life, look no further than Chloe! Story
Roo is a stray found in Raymond, Mississippi when she was about 4 months old. She has the most beautiful blue eyes and softest coat ever! She is golden brown in color with the long legs and ears of a hound. Roo is dog, people, and children friendly. She loves to play and is super sweet. Roo loves to run and play. She needs plenty of room to play, as she is a high energy dog; however, once she plays and expends her energy, she does settle down nicely. At one time, she was with a foster family who had 3 children and several dogs. She loved the children and dogs and played with them well. Roo is now boarding, and she desperately needs a forever home! Roo is being cared for in Mississippi but we do transport. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Meet Quinn of the Q pups! While her breed is a mystery, she is a loving pup who is ready for her own home. She and her siblings have loved life with mother, Baby (who is about 30 pounds) and her foster mom. She is learning about all the good things in puppy life, like running around outside and getting lots of love from everyone she meets. Quinn does well with other dogs and is young enough to learn about cats. The adoption fee for this puppy is $475, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. A $250 spay/neuter deposit is required at time of adoption. This fee covers spay/neuter at one of PetConnect's preferred veterinary partners. If the adopter chooses to use their own veterinarian, the deposit will be returned with proof of sterilization. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. Story
Penny is an active persons dream— she is an avid soccer player, runner, hiker, swimmer, walker. She is loose leash and follows commands and is very aware of her surroundings, especially leery of men in hats with sunglasses and people who may have questionable intentions. The perfect dog for a single lady who likes to get out and go but wants some extra protection at her side. She is friendly and happy but requires proper introductions for optimal response. Nothing wrong with that— just not a dog for a party, big social places, or dog parks. She gives amazing heartfelt hugs and knows a few tricks she is happy to show off for a treat. She looooooves the water, plays in her kiddy pool year round after a good game after kickball/soccer always returning the ball to you. Fenced yard required — she loves the outdoors and enjoys playtime in it. She is dog selective, doesnt like to be rushed in her face but does ok with low key dogs. She is an amazing athlete, loves a car ride and an adventure and a good workout, giving you a big smile with hugs and kisses to thank you for the attention paid to her. Penny lives in a large and busy foster home where she is kept separate due to the high energy level within the big pack. She deserves her own home, time beside her person/family, and being included in daily activity… she is a true gem that will give you her all — preferably in a more calm setting. Story
Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet, sweet boy ISO forever! LEANDRO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Leandro         Best Guess for Breed: Black mouth cur and shepherd mix    Best Guess for Age:  1 year 5 months as of July 2024        SEX:  Male    Approximate Weight: 60 lbs   Gets Along With:  Leandro lives with another dog in his Texas shelter foster home and is great with the dog and other dogs he meets! He hasn't been seen with kids or cats but can be tested   Currently Living at:  Texas shelter foster home   Special adoption considerations:  Because Leandro spent so much of his young life in the shelter - over a year - he was pretty timid and scared when he arrived in his Texas shelter foster home. He has been making great strides, though! Right now, we think Leandro will do best in a home where he has opportunities to interact with other dogs - a home with a welcoming resident dog, doggie day care, doggie playdates, etc.  All about Leandro, from his Texas shelter foster: Leandro's shelter foster cannot believe he spent over a year in the shelter - he is just such a great dog, Unfortunately, the number of dogs in his far south Texas location massively dwarfs the number of available homes - and the only way Leandro can get a forever home is by getting an adopter in the DC area.   His shelter foster says he is still timid right now but incredibly sweet. He is very affectionate, coming over to his humans to ask for pets and under the chin rubs all the time. He loves the resident dog and isn't reactive towards all the other dogs he meets - on leash, neighbors' dogs, etc.   He loves treats, he LOVES all toys, and he loves lounging with his humans - he's pretty chill.   He has his own crate where he gets treats and food. He goes in willingly and likes hanging out there with the door open. The fosters haven't tried closing the door but don't anticipate issues. He is also doing great with potty training!   The foster emphasizes that he is a very, very, very good boy who wants to please - and who has the world's cutest face. He just wants humans to love and be loved by.   What do you say? Can you see Leandro by your side? Are you his ticket into a forever home? Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
