Story
Hi, I’m Edgar! I’m a 3-year-old German shepherd/black mouth cur mix of a slender build, weighing in at 56 pounds. Let’s see…I love walks! Walks are so fun and my foster parents say I walk well with a harness! However, if we don’t have time for a walk, you can just let me out in the yard to do my business and I will come right back. I am a great listener and very obedient! Some other things I love are running around at the dog park, chew toys, bones, treats, giving side eye, and meeting new people. Actually, what I love most is people! I’m a cuddly guy who’s always down to curl up on the couch with the humans. I’ll greet them with one of my signature hugs and give them hugs throughout the day. My foster parents would describe me as a chill, quiet, medium-energy guy. I’ll bark once or twice when I hear someone at the door, but that’s what good guard dogs do, right? I’m fine with other dogs once I’m introduced to them but have trouble when on leash and could use some training.

Story
Now some of you youngsters might now remember the name… Little Jimmy Dickens.  He and Brad Paisley had a very special bond where Brad looked up (or down) at this little man who forged an unbelievable legacy in the country music world.  He was not even 5 foot tall but his spirit and his heart was a giant Red Oak.  But just like this short country music legend called Little Jimmy Dickens, this puppy named after him, has a much smaller stature than his siblings and doesn’t lack in personality or intelligence!  He will grow to be a 50-60 pound adult dog.  He is currently almost 3-4 months and well on his way to the ability to be potty trained and trained quickly.  Although these 4 pups were found roaming on a back road, they are far from wanders and have quickly settled into knowing their foster home rules and requirements to live harmoniously! These pups are not roamers or runner risks, but they never leave your side! They have been with small children, cats, other dogs, cows, and birds (guineas and chickens and are just best friends) and aside from an initial curiosity, Little Jimmy and his sibs are overall passive about other animals and kids!   If you would like to make this handsome easy going boy your family companion for the next 15+ years…then email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and ask for an application once you have given  them the location of where you live?  City and state. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 25, 2024, 10:11 am

Story
Ray Bay is a wonderful puppy who has a larger-than-life personality with a curiosity that knows no bounds.   This puppy who was found with his 3 siblings in the middle of a desolate rural Tennessee area, is the biggest of all personalities in his litter and as well he is the largest of the size!  Although they were found roaming on a back road highway in Tennessee, these pups are far from wanderers and have quickly settled into knowing their foster home rules and expectations.  This group of Black Mouth Cur puppies will never leave your side!  They have been with small children, cats, other dogs, cows, and birds (Guinea us and chickens) and aside from an initial curiosity they are overall passive about other animals and kids!   Ray Bay is 34 pounds at just 4 months of age and will be much larger boy than his siblings.  He will most likely top out at 70- pounds and will be the most handsome boy ever!   If you are interested to know more and fill out an application, please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and will send you an application.  Please tell us FIRST where you live, city and state. ** I am currently being housed at our New York Avenue location. Come meet me at 1201 New York Avenue NE, every day from 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. Hello, Burrito here, and just like the food, I have a solid foundation and am filled with many good things! My solid foundation is of course my good looks (glad you asked). Black mouth cur dogs are known to be handsome and I am no exception with my tan coat and then my gentle black face. And did you see that tiny white spot on my nose? On the inside I am filled with fun and love for my new people, with energy for good walks and play with other pups. What's not to love?I was found as a stray here in DC and a nice person made sure I got to the shelter. Initially I was a bit nervous here, but over time I learned that I could trust the nice people here. Treats and having another dog around to help me overcome my fear really helped! So, if you have some time and patience and an open heart for a cute pup like me, we can start our new life together today. I'll be sure to fill it with many good things!

About 3 years old, this tan and white pooch was a stray but she's not letting that stop her from being her best adorable self. She's a friendly, sweet and energetic girl. Give the dog a bone!

ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Meet Chloe!!! She is a 1 1/2 year-old Black Mouth Cur about 54 pounds. Chloe is a sweet and friendly girl who will bark at you at first and then be your best friend after she sniffs you all over. Once she approves of you, watch out because she will give you tons of kisses. She may even push you over on the couch once you are sitting down of course to ensure you do not get up until she has finished giving you all the love and kisses. She is absolutely the best snuggler in the world. She loves her people and just wants to be near. Chloe enjoys the company of other dogs; however, she can be the only dog in the home too. She is playful with other dogs and loves catch, tug of war and running around the back yard. She is able to entertain herself too when given puzzle toys, and treat finding toys, she also loves kongs and tuff chew toys. Chloe co-habitats with children over 12. That is best for her as she can knock kids down when she is playing or trying to give her kisses. Most of all, Chloe loves her people. She enjoys sitting on their laps, next to them on the couch or laying next to their feet as they work from home. She is a people pleaser and wants to be around her people as much as possible. At bedtime, Chloe will snuggle up to you and keep you warm. Chloe is crate trained but does not like the crate. She does not like to feel closed in. She will get anxious in a crate, and we do not want her to feel that way. We understand this and do not want to force her to do anything she is not comfortable with. There are other ways to keep her from going into other rooms if needed. An interesting fun fact about Chloe is she enjoys eating fruit. She enjoys a good melon, watermelon, strawberry, bananas and more. While her foster family is outside enjoying their barbeque, Chloe is right by their side on the ground eating fruit or a burger. This lovable pooch is a true sweetheart. She is looking for a home where she can be loved and spoiled. She will be your best snuggly companion. She loves to eat any treats you offer, especially baby carrots! She is very treat motivated to learn new things and is very curious about the outdoors. Chloe's ideal home is one filled with love, attention and plenty of opportunities to play and explore. If you're searching for a loyal companion to bring joy and happiness into your life, look no further than Chloe! Story
Meet Quinn of the Q pups! While her breed is a mystery, she is a loving pup who is ready for her own home. She and her siblings have loved life with mother, Baby (who is about 30 pounds) and her foster mom. She is learning about all the good things in puppy life, like running around outside and getting lots of love from everyone she meets. Quinn does well with other dogs and is young enough to learn about cats. The adoption fee for this puppy is $475, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. A $250 spay/neuter deposit is required at time of adoption. This fee covers spay/neuter at one of PetConnect's preferred veterinary partners. If the adopter chooses to use their own veterinarian, the deposit will be returned with proof of sterilization. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system.
