I'm in a FOSTER HOME! If you want to meet me, you can start the process by emailing my foster parent at: wilkinsonniki@hotmail.com to set up a time to virtually meet me.Catch a wave and you're sitting on top of the world is Surfer Girl's theme song. Yes, this beautiful summer pup knows where to find happiness. She loves to be loved, and she leans right in for pettings. Everyone here wants to say hello to this super friendly miss. Her smiley face is so inviting! Surfer Girl is a charming doggie who was found by a kind person. She arrived here so agreeable, and she was quite appreciative of the help. She has been a joy and we know she will be so happy to be adopted by an active household where she can be an important member. She has met other dogs here and seems fine with her canine pals. Story
Age: 10 months as of 4/28 Size: ~30 lbs Estimated breed: Black mouth cur mix Holly would be happiest with at least one friendly resident pup in the home!   Update from my foster 2/17: Holly and her brother Buddy came from a property of over thirty dogs in rural Texas. Holly would be happiest with at least one friendly resident pup in the home! Holly is suspected to be a Black mouth cur mix and is 7 months old. She has been already been spayed and is up to date on all her vaccines. Holly has learned a few tricks such as place (she will go into her crate), is crate trained, housebroken, will go potty on the "empty" command, knows sit, and is working on down. She loves to play hard and nap hard and once she gets comfortable with you she will nap between your legs and show affection by sniffing and nuzzling you. It takes her some time to warm up to new people but once she does, she is your very best friend. Holly would love a home with a patient owner willing to earn her trust and at least one friendly resident dog in the home to show her the ropes.    Holly and her brother Buddy came from a property of over thirty dogs in rural Texas. The owner of the property unfortunately passed away and understandably, his wife could not keep up with the care of the thirty dogs. The shelter reached out to rescue partners and asked if they could take the dogs directly from the property so they didn't have to end up in the already overcrowded shelter. We immediately said "yes" to helping these two puppies find their new forever homes!    As of 10/28, Holly is 4 months old and around 9 lbs. At best guess, she is some kind of black mouth cur mix, but we can never say for sure! Like all puppies, Holly loves playing hard and napping hard. She is learning all her manners in her foster home and can't wait to continue her training with her forever family. She has done well with all people and dogs. We have not seen her around cats or kids. Holly is looking for a forever family with the time, patience, and love to train er into the best girl she can be.    To adopt Holly, please apply on our website! www.keytolionsheart.org/adopt   Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our animals. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training.December 7, 2023, 6:05 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Teak is a goofy, playful, very loveable boy who gets along great with people and dogs! We learned he is most likely a Black Mountain Cur, and he fits the description of the breed perfectly :-) The Black Mouth Cur, named for his square black muzzle, is a short-haired ranch dog with a sweet personality. A jack of all trades, the Black Mouth Cur is a “utility” dog often used for hunting, herding, and other jobs. He became popular with early American settlers in need of help on their farms and ranches. His energy, intelligence, and tenacity makes him a loyal worker and companion, and his desire to bond with humans makes him a great family dog.  Teak is great around dogs and people, crate and house trained. He has not lived with children, and smaller ones might get knocked over but he has been very gentle and affectionate with all of our volunteers. Teak  did live with cats briefly with his former foster, and due to his prey drive, he would do best in a home without cats, as he is just too interested in them to be safe .   If you are not yet approved for Adoption, please complete an application at www.allshepherdrescue.com. Adoption fee is $350.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 6, 2023, 10:03 pm

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Ripley is 8yo, weighs 45lbs, is spayed, is microchipped, but is not up to date on her vaccines.  Since the move, poor Ripley is living in the in-laws' basement and although she has a tv, is visited by in-laws occasionally, and visited by human dad after work, she's essentially alone about 20 hours per day, which is distressing to her guardians.  Ripley is good in the car, can 'sit' and 'stay', dislikes/fears fireworks, loud bang noises such as bb guns/gun shots, rain, water, and being left alone.  Ripley had a litter in the past and was wonderful with her puppies, but because of the other dog attack, she's aggressive toward larger and older dogs. Ripley's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  Through no fault of her own, Ripley needs a new home because her guardians fell on hard times.  They had to downsize to an apartment, cannot afford the pet deposit/additional monthly pet fee and vet care.  Additionally, since there are 2 small babies in the household and Ripley often plays rough, she doesn't know her own strength and could knock over and hurt the babies.  Finally, there are many dogs in the new neighborhood and since Ripley's bite incident, she is aggressive to larger or older dogs. BITE INCIDENT:  Approximately 4 years ago, Ripley bit another dog who breached her territory and cornered her; the bite broke the skin, animal control was not involved, and the other dog was treated and is fine.  Ripley's guardian explains:   "About 4 years ago, a larger dog came into our yard and cornered Ripley.  Ripley acted in fear and self defense and bit the other dog on the mouth.  Since this occurred Ripley is very aggressive to larger or older dogs.  Other dog was treated and is perfectly fine, we paid the vet bills and there was no ill will."   Ripley's guardian offers a brief medical history:  Seasonal allergies on Ripley's paws from the grass. Ripley's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Ripley has lived with small children, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with small children, stating: "Ripley is currently residing with my in-laws in there basement until we can find her a new home.  We have brought our two daughters, (one is 17 months and the other 2 months) to visit her and socialize but we can't have the girls on the floor with her because she doesn't understand her own strength with playing   But when we're holding the babies, she does smother them with kisses and cuddles.  She loves them, just plays too rough.  She has been around kids around 4 and older and is perfectly great and sweet with them.  But she has intense zoomies where she can barrel through them so we steer them clear of her when she's running like that.  She also loves tug a war and she gets too into it and nips playfully when biting the toy and sometimes accidentally bites your finger and it hurts wayy to bad for a small child.  Even for an adult it hurts pretty bad." Ripley's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Ripley has lived with dogs, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating: "She is very aggressive to other dogs, except puppies.  She has had a litter in the past and loves babies so she is good with them if introduced correctly.  We got a puppy about 3 years ago and she raised him and loved him like a baby.  But other older dogs, or other dogs outside of our home, she acts very aggressive and barks and has incredibly intense anxiety.  You better have her on a leash or a very strong grip on her because it will be bad." Ripley's guardian states the following regarding cats:   Although Ripley has lived with cats, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating: "Ripley has always been good with cats and has lived with two in the past.  But I say no to living with them because she hasn't been socialized with them in a couple years and it really depends on if the cat is okay with dogs." Ripley's guardian describes her as: Very active Barks alot Playful Friendly Fence Jumper Likes to be touched Affectionate Protective Always at your side Indoor dog Outdoor dog House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Separation anxiety Ripley's guardian describes her ideal future home:  "Fenced-in yard, experienced owner, no pets or small children.
