Story
I'm in a FOSTER HOME! If you want to meet me, you can start the process by emailing my foster parent at: wilkinsonniki@hotmail.com to set up a time to virtually meet me.Catch a wave and you're sitting on top of the world is Surfer Girl's theme song. Yes, this beautiful summer pup knows where to find happiness. She loves to be loved, and she leans right in for pettings. Everyone here wants to say hello to this super friendly miss. Her smiley face is so inviting! Surfer Girl is a charming doggie who was found by a kind person. She arrived here so agreeable, and she was quite appreciative of the help. She has been a joy and we know she will be so happy to be adopted by an active household where she can be an important member. She has met other dogs here and seems fine with her canine pals. Surfer Girl is also a great zoomie runner so get ready for her moves. She is a terrific pup and so ready to sail off into the sunset with you.

Story
Lafitte will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) To learn more about Lafitte, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Arghhhh! Ahoy Matey! I'm Lafitte, the pirate! Just kidding, I'm a real sly dog, or am I? Come meet me and find out! I'm a happy dog, named after the famous Jean Lafitte, the New Orleans pirate! Just like my inspiration, I'm an active, energetic young dog with the lunging spirit of a rover! I love walks and short sprints, and have done well in the past on the leash, with minimal pulling, so they say. I LOVE playing. I LOVE games, adults, and other larger dogs. I play rough, so if you can't tango with me, prepare to walk the plank! I've played every game in the book, I love them all so much. I'd love to play tug-of-war, fetch, or just to chase a ball. I've done well in the past with larger dogs that can handle all my scheming moves, but I don't seem to like smaller dogs, they just can't play with us big dogs! I'd much prefer a home with older children and adults, because sometimes I want to play, and get too excited. I've been known to let out a few nips, I just want to play, so beware, and get ready to run around with me! I've also done well in the past in homes, and have done all my business outside, and have had no problem with my kennel. I have also lived with those crazy things they call cats in the past, but don't particularly love them, and you'll have to keep an eye on them. They are slimier than us pirates, and that's coming from a pirate! I've been described as food motivated, and have taken treats gently, but sometimes I get distracted, just wanting to play! I'm still learning all my manners, I've been working on "sit" for now, do you think you can teach me all the other cool tricks? Even though I'm a crafty buccaneer, I'd love to learn all your human quicks and maneuvers. Can you bring me into your home and teach me? I'll teach you the sea thief ways in return! Pirate's honor! If we have a deal, c'mon down to the ports, sorry, I mean events, and meet me!

Story
Age: 10 months as of 4/28 Size: ~30 lbs Estimated breed: Black mouth cur mix Holly would be happiest with at least one friendly resident pup in the home!   Update from my foster 2/17: Holly and her brother Buddy came from a property of over thirty dogs in rural Texas. Holly would be happiest with at least one friendly resident pup in the home! Holly is suspected to be a Black mouth cur mix and is 7 months old. She has been already been spayed and is up to date on all her vaccines. Holly has learned a few tricks such as place (she will go into her crate), is crate trained, housebroken, will go potty on the "empty" command, knows sit, and is working on down. She loves to play hard and nap hard and once she gets comfortable with you she will nap between your legs and show affection by sniffing and nuzzling you. It takes her some time to warm up to new people but once she does, she is your very best friend. Holly would love a home with a patient owner willing to earn her trust and at least one friendly resident dog in the home to show her the ropes.    Holly and her brother Buddy came from a property of over thirty dogs in rural Texas. The owner of the property unfortunately passed away and understandably, his wife could not keep up with the care of the thirty dogs. The shelter reached out to rescue partners and asked if they could take the dogs directly from the property so they didn't have to end up in the already overcrowded shelter. We immediately said "yes" to helping these two puppies find their new forever homes!    As of 10/28, Holly is 4 months old and around 9 lbs. At best guess, she is some kind of black mouth cur mix, but we can never say for sure! Like all puppies, Holly loves playing hard and napping hard. She is learning all her manners in her foster home and can't wait to continue her training with her forever family. She has done well with all people and dogs. We have not seen her around cats or kids. Holly is looking for a forever family with the time, patience, and love to train er into the best girl she can be.    To adopt Holly, please apply on our website! www.keytolionsheart.org/adopt   Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our animals. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training.October 3, 2023, 7:53 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Teak is a goofy, playful, very loveable boy who gets along great with people and dogs! We learned he is most likely a Black Mountain Cur, and he fits the description of the breed perfectly :-) The Black Mouth Cur, named for his square black muzzle, is a short-haired ranch dog with a sweet personality. A jack of all trades, the Black Mouth Cur is a “utility” dog often used for hunting, herding, and other jobs. He became popular with early American settlers in need of help on their farms and ranches. His energy, intelligence, and tenacity makes him a loyal worker and companion, and his desire to bond with humans makes him a great family dog.  Teak is great around dogs and people, crate and house trained. He has not lived with children, and smaller ones might get knocked over but he has been very gentle and affectionate with all of our volunteers. Teak  did live with cats briefly with his former foster, and due to his prey drive, he would do best in a home without cats, as he is just too interested in them to be safe .   If you are not yet approved for Adoption, please complete an application at www.allshepherdrescue.com. Adoption fee is $350.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 29, 2023, 8:17 am

ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 50 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: Chloe will bark at first and then sniff dogs, she loves to play with them and gets along well with them. Chloe can also be an only dog. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Chloe is currently in a foster home with kids ages 10 and up and she loves them. She cuddles with them and likes to hang around them. She also sleeps in bed with one of the kids every night. KNOWN COMMANDS: Chloe knows how to sit, lay and stay and is treat motivated. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Chloe is not completely house trained. She is working on feeling comfortable pooping outside. She likes privacy when she poops. The foster is currently working on that with her. Chloe is not crate trained as she is scared of being in one. She does not like feeling closed in; she needs to have space. KNOWN LIKES: Treats. Exercise. Mental and physical exercise. Dogs of all sizes. People of all ages once she gets to know them and feels safe and comfortable. Treats. Treats. Treats. KNOWN DISLIKES: Chloe does not like going into a car. She gets scared because she does not know where she is going. Once the car is moving, she settles down. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Meet Chloe!!! She is an 11-month-old Black Mouth Cur about 43 pounds. Chloe is a sweet and friendly girl who will bark at you at first and then be your best friend after she sniffs you all over. Once she approves of you, watch out because she will give you tons of kisses. She may even push you over on the couch once you are sitting down of course to ensure you do not get up until she has finished giving you all the love and kisses. Chloe enjoys the company of other dogs; however, she can be the only dog in the home too. She is playful with other dogs and loves catch, tug of war and running around back yard. She is able to entertain herself too. Chloe co-habitats with children over 13. That is best for her as she can knock kids down when she is playing or trying to give her kisses. Most of all, Chloe loves her people. She enjoys sitting on their laps, next to them on the couch or laying next to their feet as they work from home. She is a people pleaser and wants to be around her people as much as possible. At bedtime, Chloe will snuggle up to you and keep you warm. Chloe is still working on house training. She mainly goes to the bathroom outside but has the occasional accident indoors. With consistency and structure, she will become house trained. She just needs a loving person to continue to work with her. Chloe does not like the crate. She does not like to feel closed in. She will get anxious in a crate and we do not want her to feel that way. We understand this and do not want to force her to do anything she is not comfortable with. There are other ways to keep her from going into other rooms if needed. An interesting fun fact about Chloe is she enjoys eating fruit. She enjoys a good melon, watermelon, strawberry, bananas and more. While her foster family is outside enjoying their barbeque, Chloe is right by their side on the ground eating fruit or a burger. This lovable pooch is a true sweetheart. She is looking for a home where she can be loved and spoiled. She will be your best snuggly companion. She loves to eat any treats you offer, especially bananas! She is very treat motivated to learn new things, and is very curious about the outdoors. Chloe's ideal home is one filled with love, attention and plenty of opportunities to play and explore. If you're searching for a loyal companion to bring joy and happiness into your life, look no further than Chloe!
