Story
Fluffy on the outside and soft souled on the inside…Flora is your girl. She’s the kind of dog who makes people do a double take, not because she’s loud or rowdy but because she’s simply stunning. Eye catching, gorgeous, and incredibly gentle, Flora has a calm, welcoming presence that makes you feel at ease the moment you meet her.
Watch her video and see for yourself why everyone who meets Flora falls in love.

Flora is believed to be a Border Collie mix, approximately 2 years old, and currently weighs 42 lbs. Y’all this girl is the perfect medium size! Don’t let her fluffy photos fool you. Flora is not too big and not too small, she’s just right. As a rescue dog, her exact breed and age are our best estimates, and with any rescue, there’s always a bit of mystery we can’t guarantee but we think that just makes her even more special.
Flora is the kind of dog who prefers to take the world in rather than rush through it. She doesn’t demand attention, she quietly earns it. Once she bonds with you, she loves deeply. Beneath her fluffy exterior is a dog who is just as soft, affectionate, and devoted as she looks, forming connections that are truly special once that trust is built. The companionship comes with sweet kisses and pairs perfectly with some “back-it-up” booty scratches.
She is currently in a loving foster home, where she’s being adored while she patiently waits for the forever family lucky enough to call her their own. Flora is apartment-friendly and has wonderful, easy house manners. She is kennel trained, rides great in the car, and is learning her leash skills. Flora is independent in the best way, happy to relax peacefully by your side without needing constant attention but when she chooses to connect, it feels truly special. She melts into affection, especially for booty scratches she’ll even back right up into you to ask for more. Flora also loves to give sweet kisses, making those quiet bonding moments with her feel gentle, genuine, and deeply rewarding. And we can’t forget her long, floaty tail and beautiful coat that make her just as pretty in motion as she is in photos.
Flora is dog friendly. Her foster takes her to doggy daycare, where she’s around dogs of all sizes and personalities, and she does great there. She also lives with two small foster dog siblings and coexists beautifully with them. Flora is more of a calm companion than a rough player. She enjoys wandering, observing, and existing peacefully alongside other dogs, though she may engage in light play once she’s comfortable. She would be best paired with a medium-to-low energy dog companion who isn’t overly pushy but would enjoy her quiet company.
Flora has not been formally kid-tested yet. Based on her gentle, calm nature, we feel she may be best suited for a home with older, respectful children or teenagers who can match her laid-back personality. However, additional kid testing can absolutely be arranged to ensure she’s paired appropriately and set up for success in the right family environment.
Flora has met our house cat and showed curiosity when first introduced. She took time to sniff, observe, and get her smells in, and was able to coexist calmly once she settled. While she did show initial interest, she was able to disengage on her own and relax nearby comfortably. If a home has a cat, a dog-savvy feline would be ideal, and we’re happy to arrange a kitty sleepover to test and see how she does in a home setting and ensure the best match for everyone.
She is the kind of dog whose beauty draws you in but it’s her gentle heart that makes you stay. Her soft nature, quiet loyalty, and sweet little affectionate quirks, she’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a deep, meaningful bond. Photos truly don’t do her justice.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
