Story
Max is a 3-year-old border collie mix weighing in at a perfect medium size of 38 pounds. He has a soft heart and gentle spirit so he can be a little shy when meeting new people. But with a kind and caring approach, Max will warm up quickly. Max arrived in rescue after being surrendered when his owner passed away. Before coming to the rescue, he was living mostly outdoors in a small kennel. A lot of tender loving care has done wonders for Max, and he has shown remarkable progress.Once he feels comfortable Max will truly shine and is happy to show off his talents. His favorite hobbies are running around the play yard and chasing his favorite ball to burn off that border collie energy. As he is still building confidence, Max will benefit from continued socialization, but he is becoming more trusting and playful every day. He would do best in a calm, patient, and loving home so he can continue to make progress.Max does with dogs and children. He has not yet been introduced to cats so his relationship with them is unknown at this time. With a lot to learn and a new environment to get used to, all house, crate, and leash training is in progress for Max, but he is eager to please and with a little structure and consistency, he will thrive in a loving home. Now that he knows he is safe and cared for, Max is sure to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. If you are looking for a sweet and playful dog who just needs to know what unconditional love looks like, then Max may be the dog for you.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. Story
Meet Thea, a bright and social Border Collie mix who loves making new friends wherever she goes. With her friendly nature and active mind, she is happiest when she has people, playtime, and a little adventure in her day. Thea has a distinctive black and white coat and sparkling brown eyes that perfectly match her personality. At 7 months old and 40 pounds, we can only estimate her adult size. However, we believe she will likely be on the larger side of medium dog size, between 45 and 55 pounds when fully grown.Thea enjoys playing with other dogs and does well with kids. She thrives on activity and attention and would love a home where she can join in on walks, hikes, playtime in the yard, and other family adventures. If left to her own resources, Thea will climb a fence and also chase poultry or livestock which are attributes true to her breed. Because she is a smart and curious young dog, Thea will do best in a home that can keep her engaged and provide safe space to run and explore under supervision. She has not yet had the opportunity to meet cats since coming into rescue, so her compatibility with them is currently unknown. She is working on her young dog basics, including house training, crate training, and learning to walk nicely on a leash. Thea is eager to keep learning and growing alongside her forever family. All she needs now is an active and adventurous family ready to welcome her home. If you have been looking for the adventure of a lifetime with a warm and happy companion, apply for Thea now.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. Story
Meet Dutch🤎, a stunningly handsome and charming almost 2-year-old boy with a rich, chocolate-brown coat and captivating blue eyes that sparkle with kindness🥰. This loving boy was welcomed into a wonderful family in the San Diego area about 8 months ago. Initially, Dutch was more reserved and fearful when rescued from the shelter, but with time, he blossomed into a confident companion for his family, except for the husband, around whom he seems anxious and stressed. Despite the husband's patient and loving approach, Dutch remains wary, prompting his family to consider finding a new home where he can thrive without fear. With his current family, Dutch has formed strong bonds with the wife and kids, who adore him dearly, but they've come to realize that a woman-only household might be the perfect solution for Dutch to live a stress-free life. His family believes Dutch may have had a negative experience with a man in the past, which has led to his hesitation around men unless they exhibit familiar characteristics. Importantly, Dutch has never shown aggression and is great with cats and other dogs, making him an excellent addition to any household. He's potty-trained, crate-trained, and loves spending time in his crate and bed. Dutch is neutered, vaccinated, and chipped, and his current family is heartbroken but hopeful that he'll find a loving home🏡 where he can receive all the love and care he deserves. If you're thinking of adding a loving companion to your family and believe you'd be the perfect match for Dutch, get your application in ASAP! This gorgeous boy will undoubtedly capture your heart💗with his loving nature.😻 Currently being cared for in Southern California, Dutch can be transported to northern states such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, or other locations within the continental United States, where a loving family awaits to welcome him.
