Story
Name: Rebel Age: 11 months Breed: Border Collie mix Size: 45 lbs Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Rebel is an 11-month-old Border Collie mix with energy to spare and a personality that’s as big as his zoomies. Rebel was an owner surrender due to his owner being older and not being able to handle him being such an active dog. True to his name, he’s always ready for action—whether that’s chasing a ball, learning a new trick, or turning the yard into his personal playground. Smart and alert, Rebel thrives when his mind and body stay busy. Rebel will do very well with people who understand his breed and can give him ways to exert all of his expendable energy. He is the type of dog that would do well with a job. This bright young pup would love a home that enjoys an active lifestyle and can keep up with his enthusiasm for adventure. Border Collie mixes are known for their intelligence, and Rebel is no exception—he’s eager to learn and ready to impress with the right guidance and positive training. Rebel is still growing into the amazing dog he’s meant to be and would shine with a family ready to channel his energy into fun, learning, and plenty of playtime. Reble already knows basic commands and would definitely be able to learn more advanced commands. If you’re looking for a lively sidekick who will keep life exciting, Rebel is ready to lead the charge. 🐾 Rebel's $300 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. Name: Luna Age: 5 years old Breed: Lab/border collie mix Size: 45 pounds Luna needs a new home because she is struggling with territorial aggression and there are young kids in her current home Luna would do best in a home: -without kids- this is a requirement so that we can really help Luna thrive -with or without another dog- Luna lives with other dogs and has limited interaction with dogs outside of the immediate family. She does fine with those other dogs aside from some food possession issues, which can be addressed by feeding her separately from other dogs in the home. -with or without a cat- Luna lives with cats and while she likes to chase them, she never tries to hurt them (she just finds it fun.... but many cats won't!) -with a person that understand her territorial aggression and are willing to make changes to ensure she can thrive within their home. -she is crate-trained -she is house-trained -she is spayed and up to date on shots -she loves fetch, hikes, and attention

Story
COMING SOON IN TORRINGTON! Hi there! I’m Ryder. I am five (I think), 36 pounds of handsome, and I am a Border Collie mix. I’ve had all my shots and had that surgery on my unmentionables. Foster Mama says that like most Border Collies, I’m “a little intense.” I LOVE playing fetch. I mean, I LOVE playing fetch. I’ll fetch tennis balls, but my absolute favorite is a little squeaky football Foster Mama got me. My best quality is that I am very affectionate with people I like and trust. I love to be pet and to sit with and lean on my favorite people. I also give kisses and just want to be near you but I also like to explore. I will keep your yard bird free, cuz next to playing fetch with my football, chasing birds (and butterflies, leaves, air) is what I love best. Like most Border Collies, I am very sensitive to things that move or things that have changed. I have a routine for every time I go outside. I potty in pretty much the same place every time. I’m also a very fast learner and had the routine at my foster home down after one day. Once I figure out what you want me to do, I get it in a snap. I am on my best behavior in a crate. I don’t chew up my bed. Toys: Like I said, balls and anything I can fetch are my absolute favorite. I haven’t destroyed my plushies, but they’re just not my thing. I also don’t really care about the chew toys Foster Mama gave me. Sometimes I get really excited about my squeaky ball and I can get a bit grabby and jumpy when you try and take it from me, but I’m trying to remember to be good. Treats: I can be slow to eat when I’m nervous, but I love treats. Mama gives me these jerky treats I really love, and I also love pill pockets. Don’t know why they call them that, but maybe I eat them so fast I don’t even notice the pills in the pockets. They’re peanut butter flavored – YUM. Things you should understand about me: You should probably be experienced with / understand Border Collies if you’re going to adopt me. Foster Mama says I am not a first dog kind of guy, and I’m not the couch potato type. If you want a dog you can play with though, I’m your guy! I lived with kids, but am probably better with older kids since I can get a little grabby when I’m not paying attention. I am slow to trust strangers (although some people I like right away). If you have a lot of people come to visit you in your house, I may not be the best fit, or you’ll want to be comfortable with proper introductions for dogs like me that take some time to warm up to strangers. I don’t like it when there’s a fence between me and something I’m interested in, so I can bark and seem mean sometimes. And I love exercise. Foster Mama says that I should probably live somewhere that can give me at least an hour of exercise every day – fetch, or training, or frisbee, or something that gives me a job. Foster Mama and I play fetch about three times a day. I like being busy. If I get regular activity, I am really well behaved. Foster Mama is “housetraining” me to get used to pottying outside (I used to live in the city and use potty pads inside the home). So far I have not made one mistake! I am very sensitive to anything that changes. I have lots of zoomie moments and love to do laps around the yard when I’m outside. A fenced yard is probably best for me so I can get my zoomies out and not get into trouble with cars and people and pets going by. Mama says she’s still learning about me, and I’m going to have some sort of “test” to see if I can get along with other dogs. I hope it’s not written, because I can’t read or write. Foster Mama says that because I like chasing birds so much, I’m probably better off at a home where there aren’t other small animals like cats. I can’t help it – it’s fun to chase the birds and butterflies and watch them fly away. I have only been in foster care for a week, so it’s probably going to be another couple of weeks before I am available for my new furever family, but if you’re interested in learning more about me, please fill out the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to my new furever family.

Story
Bingo is a 3-year-old, 50-pound Border Collie mix with a bright spirit and a love for the outdoors. He came to Good Catch in late February after his previous family made the difficult decision to surrender him, believing he deserved a fuller, more active life. We couldn’t agree more. Bingo thrives outside and would happily spend most of his day there. In fact, sometimes he needs a little encouragement to come back inside! He loves splashing in the doggie pool and playing tag with the many dog friends he’s made in rescue. His cheerful, easygoing energy makes him an instant favorite with other dogs. Because he enjoys staying active and exploring, Bingo would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard and plenty of enrichment. At his foster home, he spends time “counting cows” and keeping a careful eye on the cats. Unfortunately, he’s not a fan of them and will chase, so a cat-free home is recommended unless the cats live safely separated in a barn setting. Inside the home, Bingo is the definition of a polite gentleman. This fuzzy tuxedo boy has wonderful house manners and can be trusted with free roam. At bedtime, he happily heads to his crate—door open—and settles in for the night. Bingo would make a wonderful companion for an active family, especially one with children. His previous home included kids, and he has proven himself to be a kind and playful friend to people of all ages. All of our adopted dogs are transported using only trusted, reputable transport partners to ensure a safe journey to their forever homes up North.

Story
What’s up, future bestie? I’m Billy, a 20-month-old Dutch Shepherd/Border Collie mix (yes, I swear the Dutch Shepherd is in there somewhere). I’m here to tell you why adopting me will be the most chaotic—and BEST—decision of your life. First things first: I’ve got boundless energy. Like, forget the Energizer Bunny—I’m on a whole other level. Some might say I’m “on crack” (but legally, it’s just my personality). I’m basically a dog-shaped Velociraptor with an Olympic-level zoomie game. If you’ve got a dog who loves to play and can match my level of insanity, we’ll be BFFs in no time. 🦖🐾 Cats? Meh, not really my vibe—unless your cat is super dog-savvy and can handle my velociraptor energy.
Small dogs? Nah, they’re not ready for this jelly.
Big dogs who love chaos? YES, LET’S GO. Now, about strangers... they’re weird, and I’m not always sure how I feel about them at first. But once I figure out they’re cool, I’m all in. Just give me a little time to warm up, and I’ll be their favorite Velociraptor, too. What else? Oh, yeah—I LOVE to play. Fetch? Yes. Tug? Yes. Games that haven’t been invented yet? Also yes. I’m always ready to go-go-go, and I need a human who’s just as excited about adventure as I am. Hiking, running, or just wearing each other out in the backyard—sign me up. So, if you’ve got energy for days, a sense of humor, and no small creatures who’ll scream when I zoom, let’s do this. Adopt me, and I’ll make your life as exciting as a Jurassic Park sequel (without the dinos eating people, I promise). Adopt Billy—because life is better with a little chaos. 🐾🦴
