Story
This handsome boy is Adriel. He is a one-year-old border collie mix and weighs 41 lb. This class clown is ready for his forever family! Adriel is an adorably lanky party animal who is equal parts silly and affectionate! He loves to swing his toys around and throw them. He keeps himself entertained and you laughing! Adriel brings a big grin to everyone's face when they meet him. He is also a lap dog, but not in the way you would expect. He loves to lay just his head in your lap while the rest of him is doing a "Downward dog" move! Adriel will thrive in an active household, preferably one with older children/teens. He walks well on a leash, but is still learning the right place for zoomies! Adriel is good with other dogs. We don't know what Adriel thinks of cats but can cat-test him if needed. Adriel is neutered, vaccinated and healthy. His adoption fee is $400. If you would like to meet/adopt Adriel, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms or stop by our shelter. We are open 10 AM to 4 PM seven days a week. The DAWS shelter address is 147 Grassy Plain St. Bethel. Email daws@daws.org with questions or if you wish to schedule an after-hours appointment. Adriel can't wait to meet you!

Story
Charity is a very intelligent Border Collie/Jack Russel mix. She is about 4yrs old and weighs about 20lbs. Charity enjoys being outside playing ball, she enjoys walks and also enjoys down time after some exercise. She can be leery of new people but warms up once comfortable. Charity has lots of Border Collie quirks, she will herd you if not paying attention to her.....she LOVES to play. The most suitable home for Charity is one without children, cats and she would like to be the only dog in the home. A home with Border Collie or Jack Russel experience preferred.

Story
🐾 Meet Rigatoni — Your Future Adventure Buddy! 🐾 Age: 9 months Breed: 22-breed mix (Small Border Collie look-alike!) DNA Results Available Weight: 36 lbs Training: Mostly house-trained, goes to the door when he needs out. Crate trained when alone at the house. Health: During his initial vet check, a heart murmur was detected. A follow-up appointment with a veterinary cardiologist confirmed that Rigatoni has mild Mitral Valvular Dysplasia. The cardiologist was not concerned, advised that no activity restrictions are needed, and noted that some dogs grow out of this as they mature. Rigatoni is otherwise healthy, up to date on vaccines, and neutered. 💙 Personality Rigatoni may be shy at first, but give him a little time and he’ll show you his true colors: a super snuggly, affectionate, and downright adorable pup. Once he trusts you, he becomes your shadow and your cuddle companion. 🐕 Behavior & Social Skills • Good with dogs — playful and social. Rigatoni would do well in a home with another dog. When he first came home from the rescue, he was very shy and timid, but the moment he met the resident dog, he completely came out of his shell. Having a confident canine friend truly helps him feel safe and brings out his happy, playful side. He would be ok in a house without another dog as well. • Cats: No known exposure • Kids: Has done well with young children (under the age of 5) during limited interactions • People: Needs gentle introductions; warms up with time and patience ⚡ Energy & Enrichment Needs Rigatoni is a high-energy, bright youngster who thrives with both physical exercise and mental stimulation. He’d love: • Active walks or runs/Play sessions/Puzzle toys or training games/A yard to explore (bonus!) 🏡 Ideal Home Rigatoni will thrive in a home with someone who is patient, understanding, and around often enough to help him build confidence and meet his high exercise needs. An active household that can give him regular physical activity and mental enrichment is ideal. He would do well with people who can provide gentle guidance, avoid overwhelming him, and help him continue growing out of his fear-based reactions. A calm, structured environment—with plenty of love, treats, and reassurance—will help Rigatoni become the confident, happy dog he’s meant to be. ❤️ Why You’ll Love Him Rigatoni is the perfect mix of goofy and sweet. Once he feels safe, he becomes a loyal snugglebug who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He’s smart, eager to learn, and full of youthful enthusiasm. And one of his most charming quirks? He sits in the most curious, hilarious positions—guaranteed to make you smile every single day. With patience, encouragement, and love, Rigatoni will reward you with endless affection and unforgettable moments. Rigatoni is still with his owner and this will be an owner to owner transfer. Please apply to adopt and we will put you in touch with his owner.

Story
DOB 1-29+2025 Gorgeous Evie loves to play with her friends and toys, she gets along with everyone and is social with all people. This girl of course has lots of energy, she is crate trained, around 50 [pounds and working on leash training. Evie is spayed, up to date on shots, Heartworm negative and has received a ProHeart6 preventative injection. Her adoption fee is 600.00 and transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, they run every other week to stops in the N.E. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Ms Lulu is quite the character! She is happy and funny and Loves to run and run. When she stops, she stops! She took over the house and yard the first day protecting and keeping all threats away from the fence. She is a snuggler and will sit on the couch and sleep in the big person bed or an open crate. She does prowl and protect through the night. She is house trained and uses a doggy door. Lulu is okay with small dogs but maybe no dog under 20lbs until proper intros are made - otherwise male or female dogs are fine. No idea about cats. She is a cattle dog and seems as if she may have been trained to herd beyond what comes natural? She got out of the gate once and was fine with the goat and chickens. Cattle and horses would be safe. She is an active working dog who would love an active lifestyle if you can provide it. She loves the water too. She will herd children by nipping on their heels so maybe a bit older children who understand that's just what her breed does and won't cry. She does pretty well on a leash, rides in the car like a pro, loves puppies because she was a mom a time or two. Her tongue hangs out and her jaw is a bit off (maybe birth defect or an injury) but it does not affect her appetite! She is spayed, HW negative and up to date on shots. Lulu is a really sweet dog and wants a home of her own. please apply at www.krrtx.org/forms Please note Lulu is in San Antonio, TX and is available to be transported to your location with Your TX Rescue Connection transport. The fee includes adoption and transportation fee.
