Story
THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN A FOSTER HOME WITHIN A REASONABLE DISTANCE OF OUR KENNEL IN WOBURN, MA. ONCE A POTENTIAL ADOPTER IS MATCHED WITH A DOG AND GOES THROUGH OUR REFERENCE AND INTERVIEW PROCESS WITH AN ADOPTION COORDINATOR THIS DOG WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO MEET BEFORE ADOPTION. IT IS OUR GOAL TO GET ALL LOCAL DOGS TO THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES WITHIN 7 DAYS ONCE MATCHED. **Please read Odali's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Odali - a 4 year old, Border Collie/husky mix, who weighs about 62 pounds (as of 12/20/25). This gal was previously a stray in Mexico before snooping her way to the local rescue and getting adopted here in New England. While she has gotten along with her foster’s puppy and family member’s dogs after proper introductions, we have found that Odali does not enjoy all dogs she meets so would be best to be the only dog or an applicant willing to have multiple meet and greets with their resident dog to make sure its a love match. Her foster shares that she's the most perfect companion: loyal, sweet, and chill. She's turned into quite the low-key house dog. She loves walks and adventures, but when she's home she's content to nap and isn't needy for play. We'd say that she's a medium energy dog. She really isn't interested in the dog toys we've given her and, actually, her favorite "toy" is her dog blanket. She's the queen of cozy! Despite being pretty low key, Odali LOVES a good dance party! So if you're prone to spontaneously busting a move in your living room or bursting into song like you're a star in a musical, Odali will happily be your backup dancer! And who knows? She might even takeover the whole stage and perform for you! Odali is also the best companion for the kiddos! While she lived with a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old, she gave them space and had endless patience with them. The little ones LOVED her, and they want all potential adopters to know that she "has the softest ears" and "is just a good dog!" She does well when left alone, isn't destructive, is fine being handled, and is food motivated which makes training so far very successful. She is quite strong and loves squirrels, so we've been working on counter conditioning her association with them, along with leash manners and she's made huge progress. She's affectionate but you won't have to fend off constant love attacks, which is great considering her size. Odali is a sweet and lovely girl that would be an awesome addition to your family! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Odali, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] ** PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.

Story
Rockstar Ms. Riley Ray didn’t get her name by accident — she earned it with heart, resilience, and a spirit that refuses to fade. This stunning 8-year-old purebred Border Collie has lived a life that didn’t quite match the energy she was born with. Adopted as a puppy by a loving older couple, Riley grew up surrounded by affection but very little structure. Long days indoors, extra bites of fast food and table scraps, and almost no exercise slowly took a toll.  Now this girl after just 3 weeks with us she is down 12 pounds and a nice 69 pounds and still on the way down.  All she needs is to walk daily for a few miles and then play fetch the ball and stay on a strict diet with no caloric treats.  Riley lives for fetch. The moment a ball appears, her eyes light up and her whole body comes alive. It’s as if she’s saying, “This is who I really am.” She is affectionate, loyal, incredibly smart, and still has so much joy and drive left to give. Riley is searching for an active home that understands Border Collies and will help her continue her health journey. She doesn’t want to sit on the sidelines anymore — she wants to run, chase, play, and finally live the life her breed was built for. Her past may have slowed her down, but it never dimmed her spark. Now she’s ready for the next chapter, one filled with movement, purpose, and a human who will see the Rock star she truly is.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 1, 2026, 12:09 pm

Story
🐶 Meet Milo! Breed: Border Collie mix Sex: Male Age: 1 year Weight: 45 lbs Adoption area: MA & NH only Contact: Apply at www.survivortails.org and email Katie at adoptions@survivortails.org (Survivor Tails is a licensed 501(c)3 rescue organization.) 💛 About Milo Affectionate, goofy, and eager to please — that’s Milo! This silly, lovable youngster has one mission in life: to be as close to his person as physically possible. Milo wants to be in your skin! He’ll sit in your seat the moment you stand up, curl into your spot when you go to bed, and follow you from room to room like your own personal shadow. This sweet boy’s favorite nicknames include Mylilo, Mymy, and Wild Man. He’s a cuddler through and through, happiest when he’s tucked next to you, on top of you, or keeping watch at the foot of the bed. Despite his snuggly nature, Milo is also an active pup who loves to play — he can wrestle with dog friends for hours or nap quietly until you’re ready to have fun again. 🦴 Foodie Favorites Milo enjoys Iams Lamb & Rice (2 cups/day) and is transitioning to Hill’s Lamb & Rice. Treats he loves include: • BetterBones — his absolute favorite • Cheese • Carrots • Peanut butter • Dried chicken strips • Dehydrated venison • Training treats 🏡 Home Life Milo is fully crate trained and currently uses a large wire kennel. He responds to “Go kennel” and eats all his meals inside. His crate is very much his safe space — he can be defensive if another dog approaches him while he’s resting, but he has never shown aggression toward people. He’s fully potty trained, though if he really has to go while you’re out, he may eat his poop afterward. This behavior often improves with routine and confidence. Because Milo is still young and figuring out the world, he may bark at loud or unfamiliar noises. He’ll look directly to his person for guidance — he’s incredibly smart and watches your reaction to learn how to respond. With new people, he can be nervous and bark at first, but after a good sniff he melts into a total lovebug. He gains confidence quickly when another dog is present and will often watch how they react before deciding someone is safe. 🐾 Activities & Skills Milo LOVES other dogs! He is a phenomenal playmate — gentle with small or senior dogs, and full-throttle fun with young, energetic play buddies. He’s very submissive and accepts corrections appropriately. Some of his favorite things include: • Wrestle time • Playing with dog friends • Rolling in leaves and scratching his back under pine branches • Cuddling absolutely anywhere • Chewing a bone while sitting beside you • Jumping into “your spot” on the bed or couch • Pretending belly-up time is the perfect moment for play He hasn’t tried swimming yet, but with proper introduction he’ll likely be a water-loving adventurer. He’s also a model citizen for nail trims, brushing, and baths — he holds still, stays gentle, and just wants his person nearby. ✏️ Ongoing Training Milo is young, brilliant, and bursting with potential. He would thrive with basic obedience, structured exercise, and fun enrichment like scent work or agility. His “areas to polish” include: • Leash walking: Currently pulls like a sled dog due to excitement. • Recall: He sometimes thinks he’s in trouble when called and backs away — confidence building helps. • Skittishness: Cars, movement in the distance, and unfamiliar objects can startle him. • Kennel guarding (toward dogs only): Because his crate is his safe place. He is absolutely young enough — and smart enough — to overcome all of these with consistency, reassurance, and training. ❤️ In Summary Milo is a tender-hearted, cuddly, playful young dog with endless love to give. He wants nothing more than to follow his person, learn from them, and share in every part of their day. Milo will flourish with an adopter who can continue his training, build his confidence, and give him the structure and affection he craves. This sweet boy could be your loyal companion, adventure partner, and snuggle buddy all in one. Could Milo be the one for you? 🐾
