Story
Louie is about 5 years old and originally from Houston, TX. A neighbor put him out on the street because he was considered “too much trouble,” and we took him in. He has been with our family for about 4 years. Louie is neutered, microchipped, and has had basic training. Unfortunately, my mom was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, and as painful as this decision is, we are no longer able to care for our dogs the way they deserve. Louie is very active and loves going on walks and running. He’s also a great climber. He does well with kids( I have a toddler and a baby). He will bark when he needs to go outside to relieve himself. He is still working on recall and tends to pull on the leash during walks. Louie already has a groomer he is comfortable with, and if you are local, we would love for him to continue seeing her since he is used to her. We are hoping to find a loving and active family or individual who will have the time to take him on walks, hikes, and give him the attentio

Story
Cody's a great dog full of energy and always wants to play. He loves the outdoors and once he knows you he will follow you everywhere. He is house trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. I would like to find a good a home for him with someone that is experienced dog owner, has a yard so he can run around and play. I will happily bring him out to meet you for a formal introduction. My schedule is hectic so I feel sad that I don't have as much time for him as before. He is loving and carrying he is like family so he needs the same love and carrying from his new family.

Story
Lucy is a beautiful one year old from TX. She appears to be a Border Collie mix and her blue eyes are stunning! She's very sweet and great with other dogs. This little girl was found as a stray MANY miles away from home address on her microchip. She was not traced to an owner so sat in the shelter until coming to Save A Dog in hopes of a new family. She is spayed and we believe housetrained. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and we will get right back to you. ·

Story
Cassava—“Sava” to those who love her—is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart and then never lets it go. This lovely 3-year-old Border Collie/Basset mix, weighing 34 pounds, is the perfect blend of charm, intelligence, and easygoing companionship.   Sava’s story is one of love and doing the right thing. She was adopted from a local humane society by a young man who adored her, but as life settled in, his long workdays—often 10 to 12 hours at a time—left Sava spending too much time alone. Wanting more for her than he could provide, he searched for help and never gave up until Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in to change the course of her life. Now Sava is ready for her true forever home—and what a gem she is.   She has a beautifully balanced personality: playful when it’s time for fun, but just as happy to relax and cuddle when the day winds down. She enjoys being active and would love regular exercise, but she’s not high-strung or overwhelming. While she’d certainly enjoy having a yard to run in, she’s proven she can adapt to apartment living as long as her physical and mental needs are met. Sava is housebroken and crate trained, and she settles well when crated during longer absences. She’s still polishing her leash skills, but with a little consistency, she’ll be a wonderful walking companion. Like many clever dogs, she has a playful streak—especially when it comes to paper products—so a dog-savvy home setup is always a plus.   When it comes to companionship, Sava checks every box. She’s gentle and loving with children, social and playful with other dogs, and even respectful of cats. Her temperament makes her an easy addition to many types of households.   Sava isn’t just a beautiful dog—she’s the kind of loyal, loving companion who will be by your side through it all, whether you’re out exploring or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home.    If you’ve been searching for a dog who brings together personality, adaptability, and heart, Sava is ready to meet you.   To learn more or request an application, please email: ccrnewengland@gmail.com       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 27, 2026, 12:23 pm
