Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: Unknown, likely yesGood with kids: Yes, dog savvy childrenCrate trained: YesHouse Trained: Yes Audie Murphy is a sweet, gentle, and submissive little guy. He craves positive attention and affection. He has a medium energy level with bursts of higher energy. His ideal home would be a patient one to allow him to learn to trust humans at his own pace.Audie enjoys being in a home with other happy dogs but slow intros with new dogs help him gain confidence. He loves stuffed squeaky toys, deer antlers and chews, and especially regular meals and a clean crate to call his safe space. Audie would be good with older, dog savvy kids since he can be shy at first and prefers a calmer environment. He has seen outdoor cats and showed no interest, so would likely coexist with a feline sibling.Audie is both crate and house trained and is used to being in his crate when home alone. He walks well on a leash in familiar surroundings, but might hang back in new places.Audie has come a long way since leaving shelter life behind him. He would love a new family to make him feel safe and he will give so much love in return! Could your family be the perfect match? Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. Meet Miloh! His favorite things are walks with dog friends, treats, curling up on comfy bedding, and pets once he warms up. Miloh is ahappy, bouncy, and super wiggly pup, looking for a family to bring endlessjoy! Miloh enjoys a good walk like any dog, but definitely likes to settlein at the end of the day. Miloh has enjoyed spending time around othermellow dogs at the shelter, so we think they may do well with a caninesibling that is comfortable with a more calm friend. Miloh has been through a few transitions recently, and may need a gentlestart, but once they feel secure, theyll reward you with endless loveand loyalty!

He requires a lot of attention, he’s very smart. I’ve taught him some tricks. He’s good with the right trainer to teach him to be good with other dogs. I prefer him to be the only dog in home, previous owner told me that he was good with all other pets.

Story
Meet Fern! Some dogs are simply waiting for a family. Fern is waiting for her people—the ones she'll happily follow through every adventure life has to offer.Fern is an 8-month-old Border Collie mix, born around the middle of November 2025, and currently weighs 29 pounds. She'll likely mature to around 40 pounds—the perfect size for hiking trails, road trips, neighborhood walks, and curling up at your feet after a day well spent.Fern and her identical sister were adopted together as tiny 6-week-old puppies. Unfortunately, their family realized they couldn't give the girls the time, attention, and exercise they deserve. Now Fern is searching for the forever home she's always deserved. This beautiful black-and-white girl has a sweet, easygoing personality and is happiest when she's included in whatever her people are doing. She loves children, enjoys the company of other dogs, and is always ready for a new adventure. She hasn't met cats yet, though she and her sister have been known to chase chickens—something that may disappear once she's no longer teaming up with her mischievous sibling!Like many Border Collie mixes, Fern is happiest when both her body and her mind are engaged. She'll thrive with daily walks, backyard games, hiking adventures, or even dog sports like agility, flyball, or dock diving. She doesn't need a perfect life—just one where she's loved, included, and given opportunities to learn and explore.Imagine having a loyal companion who's waiting by the door when it's time for a walk, riding shotgun on weekend adventures, making your kids laugh in the backyard, and greeting you with a wagging tail after every workday. That's the life Fern is hoping for—and the life she's ready to give back with endless love and devotion. If you're looking for a best friend to share life's adventures, Fern may be the missing piece you've been searching for.To learn more or request an adoption application, email ccrtennessee@gmail.com and be sure to include your city and state. Story
Meet Artsy Marcy – A Survivor with a Brilliant Mind and an Even Bigger Heart     Artsy Marcy is a beautiful Border Collie mix, around 2 years old and weighing 55–60 pounds. Her life began with unimaginable hardship, yet she has never let her past define her. It is believed that Marcy and her siblings were abandoned in a remote rural area of Tennessee. While trying to survive on their own, tragedy struck when they were hit by a train. Her sister did not survive, and Marcy was left with a severely dislocated hip. Thanks to a compassionate foster who refused to give up on her, Marcy received the surgery and care she desperately needed. Today she has only a slight limp—a small reminder of just how far she has come.     Marcy is everything you would expect from a Border Collie mix: incredibly intelligent, observant, athletic, and eager to be part of whatever her people are doing. She loves hiking, exploring, and would thrive in an active home where she can exercise both her body and her mind. She has a natural herding instinct and enjoys having a job or purpose.   She is wonderful with people and genuinely enjoys human companionship. While she may be a little shy during first introductions, she warms up quickly and forms strong, loyal bonds. Once she trusts you, she is affectionate, devoted, and eager to please.     Marcy has lived around cats, but she does have a prey drive, so any home with cats should be experienced and committed to proper introductions and management. She also does well with some dogs but can be selective about her canine companions. Like many intelligent, confident working breeds, she appreciates respectful introductions and clear leadership. She would do best with an adopter who understands Border Collie personalities and will provide consistent structure, training, and outlets for her energy.     Marcy isn't looking to be just another dog lying quietly in the corner. She is looking for someone who will appreciate her intelligence, celebrate her spirit, and give her the freedom to be the amazing Border Collie mix she was born to be.   Against all odds, this remarkable girl survived when she easily could have been another forgotten statistic. Now she deserves the happy ending she has fought so hard for.   If you'd like to learn more about Artsy Marcy or speak with the foster mom who saved her life, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.     Could you be the person who gives this extraordinary survivor the forever home she's been waiting for?       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 31, 2026, 11:13 am

Story
Looking for a dog who's just as excited about a Saturday morning hike as she is about relaxing at your feet afterward? Meet JoJo!This girl pup is an 8-month-old Border Collie mix with striking black-and-white markings and an even more beautiful personality. At 29 pounds, she's expected to grow to around 40 pounds—a wonderful medium size that's ready to jump into the car whenever adventure calls. Her story started with hope when she and her identical sister were adopted as young puppies. Sadly, their family realized they simply didn't have enough time to meet the girls' needs, so JoJo is getting a second chance to find a home where she can truly thrive. She  is a wonderful blend of playful and easygoing. She loves kids, enjoys other dogs, and is always up for exploring somewhere new. She hasn't been introduced to cats yet, and while she and her sister have had a little too much fun chasing chickens together, we suspect that without her partner-in-crime, she may be much more interested in staying close to her people than stirring up barnyard trouble! As a Border Collie mix, JoJo is smart, athletic, and happiest when life includes activity. Daily walks, games in a fenced yard, hiking, camping, trips to the park, or learning new skills will help her shine. She'd likely have a blast trying agility, flyball, or dock diving alongside her future family. What this girl wants most isn't perfection. She wants someone who sees her as part of the family—a dog who gets to tag along on errands, explore new places, celebrate life's little moments, and always have a place to call home.If you've been thinking your life could use a little more laughter, a walking buddy, a travel companion, and a loyal best friend, JoJo might be exactly who you've been waiting for.   To learn more or request an adoption application, email ccrtennessee@gmail.comand be sure to include your city and state.
