Hi! I'm Anabelle. I'm a 9 year old Border Collie Black Lab mix. She is a gentle and loving dog who likes to be around people. Anabelle loves to go on walks and be outside. She is afraid of storms and the sound of shooting guns and will want to be inside if either of those occur. She is great with kids and people and when properly and slowly introduced to dogs she is fine. She is looking for a loving home where she can get the attention she deserves! This gal loves people and dogs. She is an energetic and happy pup. She will do best in a home with another dog pal her size that likes to play. She is crate trained, leash trained and likes car rides. She will do best in a home with an active family and with a securely fenced yard. Piglet is kennel trained and good with other dogs but he'd really love to sit on your lap and soak up some love! He has a vrry sweet demeanor and playful personality. I’m Baxter — a 7-year-old border collie/retriever mix with a big heart and an even bigger desire to belong. After spending my whole life with one family, everything changed when they moved and couldn’t take me along. I didn’t understand why at first. One day I was home… and the next, I was starting over. It’s been an adjustment, I won’t pretend otherwise. When you’ve loved the same people for seven years, the world feels a little shaky without them. But the staff here at Animal Ark have shown me so much kindness that I’m beginning to feel steady again. They scratch behind my ears, tell me I’m a good boy, and remind me that this is just the beginning of my next chapter. My old family said I was warm and affectionate with people I knew, but a little unsure around new adults. I’m trying my best — I really am — and once I trust you, I’ll be your shadow, your teammate, your loyal companion. I’ve always gotten along well with other dogs and even cats, whether they were familiar or brand-new friends. The border collie in me means I’m driven, loyal, and happiest when I have a job to do — even if that job is just playing fetch until we’re both tired and happy. I’ll curl up for cuddles once the “workday” is done, but I thrive when I have space to run and think and explore. A home with a large, fenced yard would make my tail wag nonstop. Apartments just don’t give a collie’s mind and body enough room to breathe. I can be sensitive to noise and quick to alert you when someone’s at the door or walking by — it’s my way of looking out for my family. And the retriever side of me? That’s where my friendliness and eagerness to connect come from. I want to love and be loved. I want to belong again. If you think we might be a match, I’d really like to meet you. We adopted Ozark from cocos heart rescue in 2020 when he was 4 months old. From the beginning he has been a loyal friend. He is built like a horse with endless energy. He could run all day without showing any signs of needing to stop or slow down (even at 6.5 years old). We have loved bringing him on hikes, runs, paddle board adventures, etc. He is most happy when he is outside. We now have 2 children and have needed to slow down a bit which has been difficult for Ozark to adapt to this new lifestyle. We are looking for a loving home that he can run free. He plays well with other dogs but is too rambunctious around kids. He is collar and kennel trained.
