I want to meet everyone! I love people, other animals, everyone!My favorite thing is being the life of the party! I often get complimented for bringing the energy to the dog park. I like to be chased and can get almost any dog to play with me: older dogs - yes, puppies - absolutely, herding breeds - try and catch me! Although I don’t need another dog in my future home, I do love having another pup to play and cuddle with.Cuddling is another happy place for me. I love to be held and cuddled. Despite my size, I consider myself a lap dog. If I can’t be in your lap or right next to you, holding my paw is sufficient. I will try and get in your lap or put my front paws on your chest. I am realizing this is not acceptable behavior and working on it. I also will give you puppy nibbles if you stop petting me, don’t pet me or I am overly stimulated, another thing I am working on. If you give me a chew toy I can easily be redirected. I especially love tug ropes, kongs, benebone/nylabones and puzzles.Ugh, the crate. Do we have to go there? It is a love/hate relationship. I will go in there, I will hang out in it but I don’t like the door closed and/or locked. I am sure I could get over this and learn to enjoy the crate, if necessary.If you need a companion in the car, pick me! I will go anywhere! Wherever you are planning to go a road trip from coast to coast, a spin around the block, errands, or sporting events I want to come along too. Meet Poncho!! Intelligent, energetic and sweet, Poncho is a 2.5 yr old Border Collie mix. He has a young, happy heart and lights up like a kid on Christmas morning while playing with his ball or rope tug toy. He is loyal to his core, loving his family with everything he has. In fact, his theme song is “I’ll Stand By You” by the Pretenders. Poncho was a little too well loved in his prior home and is making progress toward achieving a healthy weight. His goal is around 50# from a current 56#. Luckily, he is excited to take his people for walks and show them around town. He pulls on leash for the first few minutes, then settles in nicely. It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy strolls before or after work (or both) with this handsome lad. Like many highly intelligent dogs, Poncho wants to use his big brain in addition to getting daily exercise. He enjoys puzzle toys and working on basic obedience skills. He can’t wait to take classes and be the star pupil! His foster family is helping him learn how to relax by using a mat for downtime where he enjoys chewing on bones or working on a Kong. Poncho is a great fit for families that appreciate and understand smart, engaged herding dogs. He can live with dog-savvy kids roughly 10+, and hopes they enjoy playing fetch! Halo has been a beloved family dog since the day we brought her home. She is attached to me at the hip and is my most loyal companion. She’s always shown those typical Australian shepherd tendencies of being reactive to specific things. Once you get to know what makes her uncomfortable she is easily managed. We recently had a baby and I was worried to say the least. But she did AMAZING with our newborn I was so beyond thankful. But now my baby is 10 months old… she’s getting Mobil, she’s getting grabby, and Halo is becoming uncomfortable being around her and I don’t trust her as she has nipped other dogs before and ONLY at people when they put there face into her face… she does NOT like that and will nip. This is not a chance I’m willing to take when it comes to my baby. I’m heartbroken to say the least. I want nothing but the absolute best for Halo to have a long and happy life even if I’m not the one that can provide that for her as I had planned…
