Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.NJMeet Spooky! Spooky is a beautiful 2-year-old Border Collie–Terrier mix with a gentle soul and a heart that's growing a little braver every day. After being found wandering the streets, she's now safe in foster care and learning what it means to be loved. Spooky is doing wonderfully in her foster home. She's incredibly sweet and has been coming out of her shell more and more as she settles in. While she doesn't love strangers walking right up to her, a little patience goes a long way. Once she feels comfortable, she warms up and shows her affectionate, loyal personality. She gets along great with her foster family—just on her own timeline. One thing that's clear: Spooky absolutely loves other dogs. She takes comfort in having canine friends around and would likely thrive in a home with another friendly dog to help continue building her confidence. Spooky loves her crate and sees it as her safe place. She enjoys walks, exploring the outdoors, sniffing all the interesting smells, and keeping an eye on squirrels. She's also remarkably quiet—her foster family has yet to hear her bark! Spooky is looking for a patient, understanding home that will let her settle in at her own pace. In return, you'll get the joy of watching this sweet girl blossom into the confident companion she's meant to be. Spooky is fixed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Her adoption donation will be $500. - Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animal have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2026, 11:02 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.NJ Jack is a handsome 75 pound, 3 year-old pointer/border collie mix coming to us through our owner surrender program. He is a very good boy who gets a little too exuberant around his baby human brother and for that reason needs a new home with older children.  Jack is playful and loves to chew on his squeaky toys, kongs, and bones. He also loves his leash walks although he can pull a bit and can use some training in that department. Jack is crate trained but is also well behaved when left alone outside of the crate.  He is good in the car and for baths.  He does not chase outside cats or other animals.  Jack is a cuddler with his humans and is happiest when they are all together. He loves belly rubs! He does get excited and jumpy when visitors come over but will settle down quickly. Jack could happily live with another playful dog or alone with an active family. He is here in NJ and ready to find his new family.  Jack is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. He has been neutered and has a microchip. His adoption donation is $500 .    -Trainer’s Note -   Jack is a Border Collie / Pointer mix, which means he’s a true working breed with a brilliant, busy mind. The right home for Jack is one that understands and embraces that.   Jack thrives with structure, clear and consistent boundaries, and appropriate outlets for his drive. Here’s the good news: he does NOT need to be run ragged or entertained around the clock to be happy. What he needs is intention.   Roughly 1 to 2 hours of meaningful daily activity that works both his body AND his mind — a walk, some training, scent work, a puzzle, a game with rules — and Jack becomes a dog who settles beautifully, gives endless love, and will genuinely amaze you with his intelligence and his intuitive connection to his person.   He is not a project. He is a partner waiting for someone who speaks his language.   Give Jack structure and purpose, and he will give you his whole heart.   Assessment provided by Liia of Lounge & Lead, Jack’s foster trainer.   - Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. Story
Farrah is a 2-year-old Border Collie Mix weighing 38 pounds. This very shy, but very sweet delicate flower needs time to blossom. Not very social out of the gate, she’ll require time and patience before she is comfortable. Good news is when she’s ready, Farrah is an affectionate little fox who will ask for gentle pets by reaching out her paw to you. A calm and quiet home would help this nervous nellie feel at ease! Currently, Heartworm Positive, Farrah will need to have limited exercise and be the only spoiled pet in the home as she undergoes her treatment. She is a furry little shadow ready to be your new bestfriend!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.MONROE and her 6 siblings were saved from a large hoarding case in Northern Texas (April 2026) where the American Humane were involved due to the scale of abuse and neglect. After getting vetted and healthy they arrived safely to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine on 28 May 2026. We welcome adopters from across the East Coast and Canada — many of our families travel to meet and take home their new best friend! Health & Background Estimated date of birth: 2 February 2026 ✅ Spayed ✅ Rabies and core vaccines up to date ✅ Monthly preventatives ✅ Microchipped with FiNano - registered with Free Pet Chip Registry. ⚖️ Weight approx 20 pounds at end of May MONROE is a sweet puppy, very goofy as to be expected for her age, lots of fun and very affectionate. She does walk on the leash and rides good in the car. I cannot say she is house-trained as she has access to outside pretty much all day and does go outside, but she won't know to let you know she needs to go out - so you must be prepared to help her learn. We are looking for an active family who understands the need of mental stimulation as well as the physical exercise for this intelligent active girl Our adoption fee's are $550 per dog/pup or $1,000 for two. Adoption Details Location: Dover-Foxcroft, Maine Families must complete and submit an adoption questionnaire. Once approved, you’ll be invited to schedule an appointment to meet and hopefully go home together. ⏱️ Applications are generally processed within 24-48 hours Click here for our Application Form!   Want to See More of Pictures?
