Story

Brio is a real sweetheart who needs a home that will give her attention and lots of love. Brio is from Washington state and is now staying with me in New Jersey. I am heartbroken that I am unable to keep her due to my housing situation but I hope that she can find happiness with a new family. Brio needs someone who understands anxiety and respects boundaries because she has had a rough past. That resulted in her having spots on her body that are triggering when touched. When she feels like her boundaries are being pushed she will freak out and show her teeth and look like she's trying to bite you, but she's never actually bit anyone- she just does this to protect herself. Brio would do best in a home without other dogs although she is able to live with them- she came from a farm with 2 other dogs. Part of her anxiety comes from her being attacked by a dog so she is hesitant with other dogs and doesn't like to play with them. However she LOVES to play with humans.

Meet Charlotte, a 2-year-old Border Collie/ German Shepherd mix who is originally from Jordan. Charlotte was rescued off of the streets of Jordan and spent time being cared for by her rescuers. She is a loving dog who knows her commands. She loves taking walks and is great on a leash, but can bark at dogs that are passing by. We are currently addressing through training sessions that we hope to continue with her adoptive family. She loves cuddling on your lap and playing outside. She is good with adults, but needs a patient approach with some men. She can get the zoomies so adults need to keep her calm and controlled around young children. She should be the only dog in a home. Due to her sensitive nature, she may get nervous and guarded in new environments, but once she warms up she is a dream! Charlotte needs a home with an active lifestyle. If you are a jogger or runner, Charlotte would love to accompany you on your journeys. She would also thrive in activities like agility training. Charlotte needs a loving and patient home with someone with a calm demeanor to help her acclimate to her new environment. Will you give her a chance?

Meet this goofy girl Gordy! She is about 6 to 8 months old and is about 25 to 45 lbs. She is a mix of what we believe is a border collie/bull terrier mix. She was dropped in the middle of a field and left there to starve to death. She was so scared of people and did not trust us at first. She was never wanting to bite, but was for sure scared of people. We got her more comfy with being around everyone, but will need a slow introduction. She is good with other dogs and kids, but with chase a cat when it runs, not to get it, but just to play. She is working on those manners. She is a great girl and deserves all the love she can get.

Patriot is a 3-year-old crate- and house-trained Border Collie/German Shepherd mix. He's quite handsome with his big brown eyes and medium-length black and white coat. He’s a sweet boy, full of love, compassion, and loyalty. He has the biggest heart and is very protective, but he requires an experienced dog owner because he can become anxious at times. Patriot likes to settle into a routine and would thrive in a calm household. He is a very active boy and loves to go for walks, but may require some reassurance along the way. Patriot will be a wonderful companion for the right owner. This is Walker, a Border Collie mix. He’s around 3 years old and weighs between 45 and 50 pounds. If you look closely at him, you’ll see his heart in his eyes. That’s because he is a true lover and an old soul, despite his young age. Walker wears a medium length, white and black coat which suits him well. In addition to his good looks, this boy is also a dog of great temperament; he gets along well with other dogs, kids and his foster’s cat. Walker would be a fine family dog. Starsky is very friendly but a little shy until he gets to know you. He is good with other dogs and would be fine with kids. He has not been cat tested. Starsky is up to date with his vaccines, heartworm negative and on Proheart-12. He has no known health issues and walks well on leash. He is quiet and does very well in a crate.
