Story
Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, December 13th, 2025 at Paradise Island in Staten Island from 11am - 3pm! "Meet Evera! Evera is a 13-week-old, 14-lb Shepherd Mix with bright curious eyes, soft puppy paws, and the sweetest personality. She’s playful, affectionate, and already so eager to learn and connect with her people. Her superpowers include being a quick learner (already sleeping through the night and picking up potty training beautifully), bonding easily with kids and adults, and having the happiest little spirit. She absolutely adores my 7-year-old — they can play together for ages. One of Evera’s cutest habits? She loves to play fetch. She’ll bring you her toys, gently place them in your hands, and trot backwards waiting for you to throw them. It’s her favorite game and she’ll happily entertain herself and you with her little fetch routine. Evera can be shy for the first minute with new people, but she warms up quickly and becomes her cuddly, goofy self. She’s still learning leash walking and basic commands like sit, stay, no, and leave it — but she tries her best and loves praise. Some of her favorite things are fetch sessions, playing with kids, cozy naps in her crate, exploring new spaces, and curling up next to her humans when she’s all tired out. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, eager-to-learn puppy who will shower you with affection and grow into a loyal companion, Evera might be your perfect match. ❤️🐾 Currently being fostered in Staten Island. The adoption fee for this animal is $550. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet this goofy girl Gordy! She is about 6 to 8 months old and is about 25 to 45 lbs. She is a mix of what we believe is a border collie/bull terrier mix. She was dropped in the middle of a field and left there to starve to death. She was so scared of people and did not trust us at first. She was never wanting to bite, but was for sure scared of people. We got her more comfy with being around everyone, but will need a slow introduction. She is good with other dogs and kids, but with chase a cat when it runs, not to get it, but just to play. She is working on those manners. She is a great girl and deserves all the love she can get.

Story
Meet Betty! This beautiful 5 month old Border Collie/Shepherd mix is absolutely stunning! She weighs about 40 pounds and we expect her to be about 60 full grown! Betty is a super smart girl, she already has her basic manners mastered! She is housebroken, crate trained and great on a leash. This girl is a high energy, super agile dog. She needs a fenced yard so she can stretch her long legs & she's a bit of an explorer so a secure fence is recommended. She loves to play and snuggle with her canine foster brother and is good with the resident cat. She also is great with all people she meets. Betty would be better with kids age 10 and up as she like to herd her people and might be a little much for younger kids. This girl would be perfect for a family who likes to hike and go on adventures - Betty is up for anything and a fast learner! Think she might be a good fit?
