Story
Macy is 7 years old, 85lbs. She is THE PERFECT DOG. She does NOTHING wrong. We adopted her as a “Border Collie Mix” 6 years ago and seems she is mixed with a larger breed due to her size (though she could stand to lose a few pounds). She adores children and warms up to people quickly. Macy loves walks (does great on leash), tennis balls, sticks, belly rubs and treats. She is trained and follows commands (sit, place and come). She gets along great with other dogs she gets to know and is also happiest just being wherever her humans are.

Story
Meet Ruby! Ruby is being fostered in Fort Mill, SC., near Charlotte, NC. Ruby is a sweet, young, fun loving, energetic Border Collie/Aussie mix that is looking for her forever home. She is 2 yrs. old, weighs 26 lbs., and is an absolute love bug! She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, and current on heartworm and flea & tick prevention Ruby loves to run, race and play! She loves to play fetch with her foster family and play chase, bitey face and tug with her foster home dog buddies! Ruby loves to go for hikes in the woods and for walks in the neighborhood. She loves to stay close with her people and pack, share lap time, snuggles and get belly rubs! She walks well on a leash and rides well in a crate in the car. Ruby has learned so much while being in her foster home for the past several months, but will need continued training and supervision in her new home. Ruby is eager to learn and is easily corrected with gentle, clear communication and positive training methods. Ruby needs slow introductions when meeting new people and dogs, and has shown to be afraid of small children and sometimes young men. Ruby sleeps well in her crate overnight with no accidents, but does not like to stay in her crate while home alone more than 3 to 3 ½ hrs., after which she begins to have separation and crate anxiety. The best home for Ruby will be one with calm, patient owners that are home a lot, have a large fenced yard, and have time, patience and knowledge to work with a high energy herding breed. Ruby will do well in a home with another young, active, playful dog of similar size and play style. Ruby will also do best in a home without small children. Any children in the home should be at least 12 yrs. old and understand how to interact with herding breeds. Ruby has a high prey drive with squirrels, rabbits and birds, so will probably not be a good fit with cats or other small animals. A good introduction to the adopter’s other dog(s) and family members is required before adoption. If you think Ruby will be a good fit for your home and family, please fill out an application with Australian Shepherds Furever! https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family.

Story
Zoey is approximately 10 years old, and shes the very definition of a good girl. Her health is excellent&fully up to date on all vaccinations, and shes been a regular at both the vet and the groomer, always impressing everyone with her calm and loving demeanor. Shes the kind of dog that people remember because she radiates kindness and sweetness. Zoey is incredibly smart and responsive to commands, and shes happiest when shes with her humans, whether that means curling up on the couch for a movie night or quietly resting by your side while you work or read. Shes low-maintenance in terms of exercise&while she enjoys sniffing around the yard or going for a gentle stroll, shes more than content to head back in for a cozy nap. She would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with no young children or babies. Zoey gets frightened around small kids, which is why, with heavy hearts, we are seeking a new home that better suits her comfort and needs.

This girl is petite and easy to handle on the leash. She is VERY SMART. Knows sit, wants to please and looks to you for next moves/direction. Loved chasing tennis balls in the yard. Has fun energy but still has some puppy mouthiness. Very treat motivated, training will be easy. She kept finding random things on the trail to pick up and carry, and would look back at me like she was doing her job.
