Story
Meet Mr. Johnny – Your Loyal Ranch Hand in Fur! 🐾🐄 Mr. Johnny is a 5-year-old ranch-raised sweetheart with a heart as big as the Texas sky. This handsome boy was trained to work cattle and takes his job seriously—herding them from pasture to pasture and keeping a watchful eye to make sure everyone is safe and well-fed. He’s the kind of dog who thrives outdoors, happiest when the sun’s on his back and the land stretches out around him. Johnny is incredibly friendly with people and gets along great with other dogs. He’s currently undergoing heartworm treatment using the gentle, slow-kill method and is no longer contagious. He’s still got plenty of life and love to give! Important Notes: Johnny is not a fan of cats (he’ll chase them!) and chickens are a no-go (he sees them as snacks 😬). But if you’ve got a ranch or country property and are looking for a loyal companion who knows his way around livestock, Mr. Johnny just might be your perfect partner. 📍 Currently located in Texas and ready to ride off to his next great adventure—hopefully with you.

Story
Honey is a sweet, healthy girl who did not come from a nice home environment. Her current adopters need to rehome her as their older dog is not friendly at all with Honey. They did their best by giving her the care she never really got with the original owners. The adopters, who are a couple of seniors, realize that Honey needs a younger family who are active, a friendly but calm dog-friend, and younger kids who will play with her and give her lots of belly rubs. This couple tried their best to provide her a safe home but in achieving this, they also find that the fit is still not quite right. This is terribly heartbreaking for them and their decision is not an easy one. They have realized for a while now that Honey deserves better and not just "existing." Hence, our rescue was contacted to help them with rehoming. Honey plays well with the neighbor dogs and is not aggressive at all. She is quite good around children as the adopters have granddaughters ages 3, 2, and 1. She is definitely great with leash walking, is house trained and just a lovable "honey bear." Let's find her a last forever family and home!! The adoption fee of $250 includes the vet exam, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, heartworm prevention, and a spay. We prefer Austin, TX adoptions but will consider nearby cities. A fenced backyard is a must.

Story
Looking for a lovable goofball to brighten your days? Meet Ronin! This sweet, silly boy is the total package: dog-friendly, cat-curious, and full of doofy puppy charm. He’s currently crashing with three dogs and two cats in his foster home, and he’s doing great with all of them (even the grumpy old dachshund who wants nothing to do with him!). Ronin is doing a fantastic job learning the ropes of being a house pup! He’s mostly house-trained, sleeps soundly through the night in his crate, and has already picked up fun tricks like “sit” and “shake” (especially if there are treats involved!). He’s a quick learner with a curious mind and absolutely loves toys—whether he’s tossing them in the air, playing tug, or parading around the yard with his favorite stuffed prize. He adores his people and likes to keep tabs on you—he’s the type of pup who will follow you room to room just to make sure you’re doing OK. He’s affectionate without being clingy and will lean into you for pets or curl up nearby for a nap after a good play session. He may not be a full-on cuddler yet, but he’s got that “check-in” sweetness that makes your heart melt. Ronin’s ideal home? One with someone who’s home a good bit, maybe a dog buddy (but he’s cool solo too), and a human who’s excited to teach him new tricks and continue his training. He’s smart, eager to please, and already showing what a brave, happy, and resilient boy he is. Follow his adorable journey at @adopt_ricearoni and get ready to fall in love. 🐾
