Skyler is a young, playful Boxer/Husky mix with a happy-go-lucky personality and just the right amount of goofy charm. Clever and a little mischievous, he has a way of making people smile without even trying. He’s always up for fun and adventure, but he also knows how to settle in for a cozy movie night on the couch. DNA tests show Skyler is officially half Boxer and half Husky, and he somehow got the best of both worlds. He has more of the Boxer build with short, incredibly soft fur that hardly sheds, while his striking coloring and soulful eyes lean more Husky. And those eyes? They have a way of pulling you in — especially when he follows up with one of his gentle little kisses. At just over a year old, Skyler is still young and learning, but he’s eager to please and responds well to guidance. He walks fairly well on leash and is easy to redirect, though excitement will get the better of him when he sees another dog or a squirrel. True to his Husky side, Skyler can occasionally be an escape artist. He was adopted and returned after escaping multiple times. We found him in our yard during Christmas and have since been caring for him after no response to the posts we made about him being found. Due to how emaciated he was, we assume he was abandoned. He had no collar, tag or chip.He's very sweet. He has stage 3 kidney disease makes him pee a lot. He has been neutered and microchipped.The vet says he may live 3-5 years since his body has adapted to his kidneys. He is currently up to date with all of his vaccines.He needs a big open yard he can run around in so he can run around and freely pee. He loves other dogs too very playful and very much a puppy. He loves to chase a ball and frisbee.He is crate trained, and he responds to his name, sit, and touch. He is warming up to cats, but he does focus on them too much and does chase them (mostly for play, but he's a large dog that it can turn dangerous if not separated) Currently we have him out of the bedroom where the cats stay with a baby gate on one door and his kennel blocking the other.
