Story
Skyler is a young, playful Boxer/Husky mix with a happy-go-lucky personality and just the right amount of goofy charm. Clever and a little mischievous, he has a way of making people smile without even trying. He’s always up for fun and adventure, but he also knows how to settle in for a cozy movie night on the couch. DNA tests show Skyler is officially half Boxer and half Husky, and he somehow got the best of both worlds. He has more of the Boxer build with short, incredibly soft fur that hardly sheds, while his striking coloring and soulful eyes lean more Husky. And those eyes? They have a way of pulling you in — especially when he follows up with one of his gentle little kisses. At just over a year old, Skyler is still young and learning, but he’s eager to please and responds well to guidance. He walks fairly well on leash and is easy to redirect, though excitement will get the better of him when he sees another dog or a squirrel.  True to his Husky side, Skyler can occasionally be an escape artist. He was adopted and returned after escaping multiple times. He has not tried to escape at all in his foster home, but he’ll need a family committed to helping him continue his training and keeping him safe and secure. Skyler absolutely loves other dogs and would do best in a home with another young dog to play with. He has a gentle play style and often takes the more submissive role during playtime. He would also do well with children who can match his fun-loving energy. One thing future adopters should know: Skyler’s zoomies are legendary. Out of nowhere, he can launch into full-speed puppy mode — ears pinned back, eyes wide, and pure joy taking over his whole body. He commits completely. If you happen to be standing in his flight path, consider yourself warned… Skyler occasionally forgets that brakes are a thing. He isn’t the type of dog who needs to be glued to your side every minute of the day, but when Skyler decides it's snuggle time, you feel it. His affection comes naturally and on his own terms, which somehow makes those moments even sweeter. One of Skyler’s cutest quirks? He gets the hiccups — a lot. Usually when he’s excited or first sees his foster in the morning. Somehow it never stops being adorable. This joyful boy is ready to bring laughter, companionship, and a whole lot of personality to his forever home. Skyler is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and available for adoption with a donation of $250. Fill out an application to meet Skyler! https://www.southpawrescue.com/adoption-application

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Fred! Fred and Ethel were found running around a neighborhood in San Bernardino. A friend of Cause for SB Paws took them in and asked us to help find them a good home.Fred is such a sweet mushy face! He looks part Boxer and maybe part Pitbull/Staffie. He is good with other dogs, cats unknown. Because he is a big teenager (still a baby at only one year-old), he's probably best in a home with no small children, only because he could knock them over in his playful excitement. He would be a great dog for someone looking for a playful hiking buddy. It would be amazing if Fred and Ethel could be adopted together, but they can be protective over each other, so adopting separately probably works out better anyway! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Pretty Ethel! Fred and Ethel were found running around a neighborhood in San Bernardino. A friend of Cause for SB Paws took them in and asked us to help find them a good home. She is around 2 yrs old, house broken, and crate trained. Ethel just wants to be by your side. She is eager to please, smart and very affectionate. She could fit in with any family as long as she can get enough beauty sleep. As you can tell it works well for her!  It would be amazing if Fred and Ethel could be adopted together, but they can be protective over each other, so adopting separately probably works out better anyway!
