Story
Rocky is a sweet, medium-sized energetic dog who loves people, including kids, and dogs. He loves to run around outside and play fetch so he would do best in a home with a fenced yard. He loves to play with his humans and be silly. He would make an EXCELLENT family dog! He adores and is remarkably gentle with the one-year old child he lives with. He’s so careful about taking treats and toys from his hands gently. At just over a year, Rocky does sometimes mistake the child's toys for his own, so if you have young kids, you'll have to keep the stuffies up high, but he's improving as he matures. Rocky is crate trained and extremely food motivated. In fact, he will snag any food left unattended for too long! He loves walks and knows a few commands (here, sit, lie down, down, fetch). Rocky is smart, rambunctious boy, so he will need a home that can provide him lots of physical and mental stimulation, but also enjoys just lying down and hanging out with the family while playing with his stuffed animals. We haven't cat tested him, as he chases after cats, raccoons, and squirrels outside, but that doesn't necessarily mean he would do that with an indoor cat. If you have a dog-friendly cat, we can try and safe intro. Rocky had a dna test done and he’s a total mix of a variety of breeds. The great news is that he also didn’t show any genetic predispositions for any of the health problems they tested! Rocky is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. Story
Daisy Boo is a 3 year old little love bug that only weighs 45 lbs. She was found as a stray. In a heartbreaking turn of events, we were able to locate her original owner who could no longer afford to keep her. She is longing for a family again as she wants nothing more than to just hang out with you! Daisy Boo is a low-maintenance dog that would be perfect for apartment or home living and would be a great choice for a family with children. She is smart, super fun and loves her stuffies! She’s currently enrolled in training sessions to master leash walking in urban environments around other dogs. Her former owner said she played well with other dogs. Daisy Boo would LOVE to meet you! Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Izzy (short for Isabella because I’m so bella!)   ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I’m a gorgeous girl!    HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born on November 29, 2018.
WHAT BREED ARE YOU? Just the most perfect Boxer/Pit Bull mix! HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I’m 80 pounds of pure love!  WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I’m a classic, fawn Boxer beauty with soulful brown eyes and natural black eyeshadow.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I’ll pretty much eat anything but have a soft spot for cheese! Can you blame me, though? Cheese is life! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am goofy and playful but also love a good cuddle sesh. I’m loyal to my humans and adore little kids!  DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: Oh that’s easy! My perfect day would start with a long walk, popping some bubbles or chasing a ball, then some quality couch time with my humans, followed by a nice long nap. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Anything that squeaks will not squeak for very long when I get my paws on it!  DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I’m good with the basics, sit, stay, leave it, and wait! I am very food motivated, so if you want me to learn more, bring on the treats! WHAT SCARES YOU? On leash, I am sometimes nervous about other dogs, so I tend to react to tell them to stay away from me and my human!   HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I LOVE children, especially little ones! I am so tolerant of their shenanigans, although I appreciate when my humans step in when they start to get a little handsy with me!  DO YOU LIKE CATS? Oh, no thanks. I’ll pass on cats!  HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? With slow, structured introductions, I should be alright with large dogs, but I do not want little dogs in my space. As I mentioned earlier, I can get uncomfortable with some dogs when on leash. I’m practicing and getting better, treats can help!    IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? It doesn’t matter where I am as long as we’re together. Right beside my human is the best place in the world!  HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m very healthy!   WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with two adults and two children under five years old. My foster mom is my super-favorite person in the world right now, although those littles sure are a lot of fun!   WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I chill. Sometimes on the couch, sometimes on the floor. I take myself out and like to find cool spots in the house.   WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Pretty flexible! Couch, floor, dog bed. A crate if I must, but I like crates the least. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? A leash means walks! I love walking on a leash!    DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? Sometimes when I’m on leash I have a hard time telling between friend or foe. Even though I’m big, that doesn’t stop me from acting like a puppy. I am willing to learn, so let’s spend some time working together and have some fun bonding while you teach me what you want me to do!   ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) Yes, I am! No problems there! Make sure you tell me where and I’ll stick to it.   DO YOU LIKE WATER? I’m not much of a swimmer but I love getting in the water and playing with the hose. Maybe you can teach me how to swim?   WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love spending time with my foster family, especially all the cuddles. The best is when I get to hang out with the kids. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOUR FUTURE ADOPTER? I’m SO ready to start the next phase of my life with my forever family! Let’s do this! **IZZY’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300.** If you are interested in adopting Izzy, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
Watch out, world - here comes Cheerio! Cheerio is estimated to be just under a year old. She is a ball of fun who is eager to go on adventures and make new friends. She is the cuddle master and thinks that naps are way better with a buddy. She is an active girl looking for a family who can keep up with her puppy antics. Cheerio weighs about 40lbs and we think she is still growing, so our best guess is that she will be around 50-60lbs when fully grown. Cheerio came to us from an overcrowded Central California animal shelter. She was found as a stray, and no family ever came for her. She was at the shelter for about a month and was then placed on the euthanasia list simply due to a lack of space. We quickly were able to find a foster home to take her in, and she has been settling in well since coming to us. Cheerio is a total lovebug who thrives on human attention. She can be a tad cautious when she meets a new person, but she is quick to warm up and cover your face in kisses. She has a hilariously goofy personality, and there are never any dull moments when she is around. She loves to play fetch! Cheerio has mastered a few basic manners, like sit and down, but would benefit from some continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. Cheerio has done well living with other large dogs and could be a great wrestling buddy for another playful pup. She also wouldn't mind being your one and only - more treats and cuddles for her! Cheerio thinks kitties are fun to chase, but with a slow introduction and proper supervision, she has learned to live with dog-savvy cats. Cheerio could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Cheerio has been doing great with her housetraining. Cheerio has done well being left alone in her crate for short periods, but very much prefers when one her foster family members can work from home. She is happy to sleep through the night in her crate. Cheerio is such a fantastic dog, and she can't wait to meet her fur-ever family! If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Cheerio's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. Story
At two and a half months old, Bingo was found alone in a field and scared. It was discovered shortly after that that he had two congenital heart defects. Right now, one compensates for the other. We do not know what this means for Bingo long-term, but he has no idea he is sick and lives life to the fullest. Bingo is a playful young dog that is approximately one year old. Bingo enjoys his dog and human friends. He has no exercise limitations, so we allow Bingo to self-regulate. Although he would not make a good hiking or running companion, he loves running and playing with friends. He has never met a toy that he doesn’t love. He can self-entertain with a ball for a long time. Bingo is crate-trained but can also be left in the house freely without concern for destruction. He loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping on the human’s bed. Bingo has been raised in a home with several dogs and would prefer to live with another doggy resident. Bingo enjoys outings to the park, lake, and patio restaurants. He is a great companion and snuggly buddy!

These pups are in Elk Grove, California too!

Story
Kirby is a male, mixed breed,8 ish yrs old. Got him as a puppy from Los Banos shelter. The shelter told me he was a Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier mix, i had a DNA done and report said 50% American Bulldog,25% Dachshund, 12.5% Jack Russell, 12.5% Chihuahua. He gets groomed every month. Enjoys walks and is a loving dog. When he's asleep, you can't pick up and carry, he has an attitude. Same when asleep when you go next to his crate scares him. He also likes to bury himself slowly under a blanket and sleep on couch. Still has zoomies. He sleeps in crate, he knows as "his room". He grew up with 2 dogs-a chiweenie and frenglish bulldog. I'd like to rehome him preferably bonds more to females, who can spend more time with him and maybe be the only dog. But maybe ok with 1 other dog, no cats.

Story
It hurts so bad to type this. I’m rehoming my baby, Loki. When he was 3 months,I found out my kidneys were failing. I went into a deep depression-stopped leaving the house, etc so he wasn’t socialized. By the time I pulled myself out I tried(unsuccessfully) to get him to tolerate other dogs.He LOVES people. He’ll protect you, & cuddle with you all day if you let him. LOVES fetch. Or to run for any reason, but he’ll also veg out with u..Why I cant keep him: a dog next door attacks our fence constantly. He usually runs in the house immediately to not get in trouble. But last time it happened, he attacked my girl (redirected aggression) & refused to let go. Luckily she wasn’t badly hurt, but I got bit breaking it up. I have a compromised immune system & a bite could kill me. He needs a strong & experienced owner with no other dogs. He loves cats & kids12+ he loves younger kids too, but just wanna be safe. He’s truly a such a loving boy, ALWAYS wants to please you.

Story
Gronk is such a great boy. We are just in dire need to rehome him. He really loves to snuggle and lay on your lap while on the couch. He loves to go on walks and play with his Kong toys. He is great with people and kids who respect and treat dogs well. He sleeps every night with our 10 year old daughter. He is also good in the car. He is a great boy who would be at his best in a home where he is the only dog, but, can do well with laid back female dogs.
