He recently spent a 3-night sleepover with one of our foster couples in their Sun City home. They discovered that XO is a sweet, gentle, and loving companion. He met their neighbor's dogs on the first morning and enjoyed his daily morning walks with these dogs. He even play-bowed and flirted with the younger dog, proving this old dog can make new friends. XO is 100% house-trained, he went potty in the backyard and also on his neighborhood walks. He enjoys cuddling on the sofa, going for car rides, sunning himself in the backyard, and meeting new people. XO was well-behaved in the car, enjoying sniffing the air when the window was rolled down a few inches. He easily hopped into the back seat of the car. XO slept through the night curled up at the foot of the bed, and also used the dog bed in the bedroom. A sweet, easy energy girl. A nice medium size. Walks easily on leash.Polly Pocket is lovable and cuddly and a little mischievous. She loves giving and receiving hugs and kisses and loves her belly rubs. She has a real sense of FOMO and will follow you around the house to make sure she knows what’s going on! She loves going on long walks and meeting new people. Everyone who meets her thinks she’s sweet and adorable. It could be because she rarely barks. She is still learning how to play well with other dogs so she may do better in a home where she is the only dog. Recently she made friends with an younger large breed dog and may just prefer bigger dogs. Gumbo recently went on a two-night sleepover at one of our volunteer foster homes, and they learned that Gumbo is a happy, playful, easy, sweet, affectionate, and well-behaved companion. He had a great time meeting the neighbor's dogs and enjoyed his morning walks with these three dogs in their Sun City Roseville community. Gumbo has lovely leash manners, no pulling on the leash. Gumbo enjoys playing with soft squeaky toys, retrieving a ball in the backyard, cuddling on the sofa, going for car rides, getting a bath, leaning in for petting, romping around the backyard, and welcoming visitors in the home. Gumbo never barked at the wildlife or the golfers from our backyard facing the Sun City golf course. Gumbo is house-trained and had no accidents in this foster home. He loved getting a bath in the walk-in shower, standing patiently throughout the wash - and then wiggling with happiness while being toweled dry. He hopped into the backseat of the car and was well-behaved during car rides. He loves to put his nose out the window when rolled down halfway. Gumbo doesn't always enjoy having his feet touched, so we are requiring that any children in his new home are age 10 or older. Alyssa is a happy, playful, sweet, affectionate, and loving companion who has been on a few outings with Placer SPCA volunteers to get a break from shelter life. Most recently she was hosted for two nights by two of our foster volunteers in their Sun City home. They shared that, "Alyssa met the neighbor's dogs on the first morning and enjoyed a walk with them. She enjoys playing with soft squeaky toys, chasing a ball, cuddling on the sofa, going for car rides, romping around the backyard, and meeting new people. Alyssa is house-trained and was well-behaved in the car, enjoying sniffing the air when the window was rolled down a few inches. She easily hopped into their SUV, but needed a lift out of the car as she was cautious of the big step down. Alyssa used a doggie step to get onto the sofa and up to the bed. She sleeps through the night curled up at the foot of the bed, and each morning she greeted our volunteers with a wagging tail and warm cuddles. She was asked to "sit" and "wait" while her food bowl was set down for her. Overall, Alyssa is an obedient, well-behaved, and happy dog with polite manners. She is great company on the sofa, lying next to you and rolling over for belly rubs (she loves belly rubs). Our volunteers live on a golf course and she never barked at golfers or wildlife." Alyssa is recommended for kids age 5+.
