Daisy Boo is a 3 year old little love bug that only weighs 45 lbs. She was found as a stray. In a heartbreaking turn of events, we were able to locate her original owner who could no longer afford to keep her. She is longing for a family again as she wants nothing more than to just hang out with you! Daisy Boo is a low-maintenance dog that would be perfect for apartment or home living and would be a great choice for a family with children. She is smart, super fun and loves her stuffies! She’s currently enrolled in training sessions to master leash walking in urban environments around other dogs. Her former owner said she played well with other dogs. Daisy Boo would LOVE to meet you! Story
Joy is mixed Boxer, German Shepherd, Pittie and Chow. She is hilarious, high energy, super cuddly, and ready to explore. Our family adopted her when she was 6 weeks old through a local rescue; she will be 6 soon. Joy is ridiculously smart, well trained and good with recall, but sometimes needs reminding. She love cats, playing with water in all forms, squeak toys, chasing squirrels and her ball. She will go hard fetching her ball and then sleep for hours. She enjoys kids, but with 68 lbs of muscle, take caution. Joy needs to be an only dog. She "resource guards" her toys and her humans. This is why we are seeking a new family to love her. We are now divorced, living in two different cities. One home has another dog she fights with, and in the other she will be alone for 12 hours a day. Joy just needs a place she can romp and run, and lively, loving humans to hang out with. We wish to hear updates from adoptive family.

Update- sweet Joey had surgery to correct his cherry eyes. He`ll get his cone off soon and his photo will be updated. Right now, his favorite thing to do is grab a soft toy to chew on while hanging out in your lap. He is adorable :)  Meet Joey !At just 8 months old, Joey is already checking all the boxes for `best friend material.` This handsome brindle Boxer mix is nearly done growing and is expected to settle into that perfect medium-sized package—big enough for adventures, small enough to fit comfortably into most homes.Joey is still very much a puppy, which means life with him comes with plenty of fun, laughter, and the occasional puppy shenanigan. He`s playful, curious, and eager to explore the world around him. Whether he`s zooming around the yard, investigating every interesting smell, or looking for someone to play with, Joey approaches life with enthusiasm and joy.Like any young dog, Joey will benefit from continued training, structure, and patience as he learns the ropes of being a well-mannered adult. The good news? Puppies are adorable, and Joey has that covered. His goofy personality and sweet face make it hard not to smile when he`s around. If you`re looking for a young companion to join you on walks, adventures, and lazy days on the couch after playtime, Joey may be the perfect fit. He`s ready to trade shelter life for a family of his own and start making memories with the people lucky enough to call him theirs.Come meet Joey and see if this brindle bundle of fun is the missing piece in your family!Joey has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out his playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. Story
Rocky is a sweet, medium-sized energetic dog who loves people, including kids, and dogs. He loves to run around outside and play fetch so he would do best in a home with a fenced yard. He loves to play with his humans and be silly. He would make an EXCELLENT family dog! He adores and is remarkably gentle with the one-year old child he lives with. He’s so careful about taking treats and toys from his hands gently. At just over a year, Rocky does sometimes mistake the child's toys for his own, so if you have young kids, you'll have to keep the stuffies up high, but he's improving as he matures. Rocky is crate trained and extremely food motivated. In fact, he will snag any food left unattended for too long! He loves walks and knows a few commands (here, sit, lie down, down, fetch). Don't let that furrowed brow fool you - Rocky is a happy boy! He is smart and energetic, so he will need a home that can provide him lots of physical and mental stimulation, but also enjoys just lying down and hanging out with the family while playing with his stuffed animals. We haven't cat tested him yet. He does bark at the feral cats and squirrels, but does not chase them, yay! According to his DNA test, Rocky is 1/4 mastiff, 1/4 "herding dog lineage," 1/4 boxer, and the remaining 1/4 includes spitz, and pointer, spaniel. The great news is that the test revealed no genetic predispositions to illness! Rocky is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. To meet Rocky in person, please fill out an adoption application. If you are using Adopt-a-Pet, you may click on the "Apply Online" button. Story
We adopted Coco from an animal shelter in February 2025. She was so calm, sweet and didnt bark once in the middle of all those barking dogs. She was 18 months old, 60 lbs but clearly starving before going to the shelter. She weighs 100 lbs now and loves to fetch the ball, go on walks, enjoys any amount of petting, patting, etc. She sits on the couch with me and my kids. Looking for an owner or who can give her an hour or two of daily exercise and a lot of love who wants a loving, loyal companion who will stay by your side or on your lap. She's friendly, playful, and active.

Story
Watch out, world - here comes Cheerio! Cheerio is estimated to be just under 2 years old. She is a ball of fun who is eager to go on adventures and make new friends. She is the cuddle master and thinks that naps are way better with a buddy. She is an active girl looking for a family who can keep up with her puppy antics. Cheerio weighs about 64lbs and is fully grown. Cheerio came to us from an overcrowded Central California animal shelter. She was found as a stray, and no family ever came for her. She was at the shelter for about a month and was then placed on the euthanasia list simply due to a lack of space. We quickly were able to find a foster home to take her in, and she has been settling in well since coming to us. Cheerio is a total lovebug who thrives on human attention. She can be a tad cautious when she meets a new person, but she is quick to warm up and cover your face in kisses. She has a hilariously goofy personality, and there are never any dull moments when she is around. She loves to play fetch! Cheerio has mastered a few basic manners, like sit and down, but would benefit from some continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. Cheerio has done well living with other large dogs and could be a great wrestling buddy for another playful pup. She also wouldn't mind being your one and only - more treats and cuddles for her! Cheerio thinks kitties are fun to chase, but with a slow introduction and proper supervision, she has learned to live with dog-savvy cats. Cheerio could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Cheerio has been doing great with her housetraining. Cheerio has done well being left alone in her crate for short periods, but very much prefers it when one of her foster family members can work from home. She is happy to sleep through the night in her crate. Cheerio is such a fantastic dog, and she can't wait to meet her fur-ever family! If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Cheerio's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. June 10, 2026, 11:30 pm

Story
At two and a half months old, Bingo was found alone in a field and scared. It was discovered shortly after that that he had two congenital heart defects. Right now, one compensates for the other. We do not know what this means for Bingo long-term, but he has no idea he is sick and lives life to the fullest. Bingo is a playful young dog that is approximately one year old. Bingo enjoys his dog and human friends. He has no exercise limitations, so we allow Bingo to self-regulate. Although he would not make a good hiking or running companion, he loves running and playing with friends. He has never met a toy that he doesn’t love. He can self-entertain with a ball for a long time. Bingo is crate-trained but can also be left in the house freely without concern for destruction. He loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping on the human’s bed. Bingo has been raised in a home with several dogs and would prefer to live with another doggy resident. Bingo enjoys outings to the park, lake, and patio restaurants. He is a great companion and snuggly buddy!

Story
Zeus is very smart and playful, he loves toys and learns routines quickly. Zeus loves to play chase and tug anytime. He is learning his manners well, but he still barks and gets excited easily so he may do best somewhere he has a little space to play on his own. He is very friendly with other people, he wants to play and will go get his toys and attempt to engage you in tug of war. He likes to chase balls but is still learning “drop”. If you have a couple toys to alternate with, he will fetch. He loves belly rubs. Zeus loves his treats but is pretty mellow about mealtimes. He will take food from your hand gently. We give him food 3 times a day and he often eats it slowly throughout the day, he doesn’t gobble food or overeat. When we need to give him pills he will eat a spoon of peanut butter with meds with no problem. Zeus crates well; he will go in there easily if you point inside and often takes naps in there on his own. His foster parents are home a lot so he is a little spoiled with attention, but he is used to being in his crate alone for a few hours at a time. He is both affectionate and sometimes self-sufficient. He likes to be with you or cuddle, and he also seems comfortable napping in the ‘other’ room. We have not tested Zeus with cats but he has a strong chase/hunt instinct and always goes after birds or squirrels. Zeus is sweet but he does get excited and can jump or be a rough player. He is learning not to jump up so much, but he does seem to like standing up on his hind legs. He is also pretty vocal when he is playing

Story
Tug is a fun-loving, affectionate young pup who’s equal parts playful and sweet. True to his name, he’s always ready for an adventure—whether that’s a walk, a game of fetch, or just tagging along for a car ride (where he quickly settles in for a nap after the fun). He’s friendly with adults and loves attention, often handing out kisses and soaking up all the affection he can get. Tug is treat-motivated, enjoys toys, and has a curious, playful personality that makes him a joy to be around. He’s done well in home settings, relaxing, exploring, and bonding quickly with his people. With other dogs, Tug has shown he can be playful and social with the right match, though he may need guidance and slow introductions, especially with dogs he’s unsure about. He can also be vocal or reactive in busy environments, particularly around his kennel, but settles once he’s out and engaged.Like many young dogs, Tug can get excited and may pull on leash or jump up to say hello, but he responds well to structure and will benefit from continued training. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Tug will keep life full of fun, cuddles, and plenty of laughs ??
