Story
This is Stahli - to know her is to absolutely love her! Stahli is a 3 year old boxer/boston terrier mix up for adoption in Minneapolis, Minnesota!! Not only is she stunningly pretty with a shiny black coat, she's also very smart. She loves performing tricks and pleasing her people when asked to do things. She craves adoration and accolades! Her favorite things are: snuggling, playing with dogs & toys and watching the neighborhood comings and goings. She has a goofy playfulness to her when combined with her adorable underbite, makes her simply irresistible! Gotta love a good snaggletooth! Stahli will thrive in a stable home without a lot of commotion and chaos. At this time, we are unsure if she would thrive in an apartment setting. She has a hard time processing new people entering her space which can overwhelm her at first. She needs to be allowed to approach people on her own terms. This applies at home and in crowded places. She enjoys going places & car rides, but needs you to advocate for her out in public if people rush up to her... otherwise, she'll vocalize her anxiety herself. She tends to recover quite quickly in public and recently enjoyed a fun evening out at a dog-friendly brewpub. To summarize Stahli: does she have a slight case of stranger danger, yes. But when Stahli loves you, she loves you with every fiber of her being and that will never waiver. She is a smart girl though and remembers people, so if she mistrusts someone, it can be hard to change her opinion. She is currently in a great foster home that is helping to build her confidence when meeting new people. Her new family will need to implement this new routine when visitors are coming over and coach new people through how to interact with her. AND drumroll ::: Stahli is on Facebook + Instagram ::: she'd love it if you'd follow her. She loves being a star! @adoptstahli Stahli is being fostered in NE Minneapolis. To meet her in person, please fill out an adoption application. We will reach out to you within 72 hours to arrange a meet-n-greet. If you get to pet her cute spotted belly, you've won her over! Story
Watch out, world - here comes Cheerio! Cheerio is estimated to be just under a year old. She is a ball of fun who is eager to go on adventures and make new friends. She is the cuddle master and thinks that naps are way better with a buddy. She is an active girl looking for a family who can keep up with her puppy antics. Cheerio weighs about 40lbs and we think she is still growing, so our best guess is that she will be around 50-60lbs when fully grown. Cheerio came to us from an overcrowded Central California animal shelter. She was found as a stray, and no family ever came for her. She was at the shelter for about a month and was then placed on the euthanasia list simply due to a lack of space. We quickly were able to find a foster home to take her in, and she has been settling in well since coming to us. Cheerio is a total lovebug who thrives on human attention. She can be a tad cautious when she meets a new person, but she is quick to warm up and cover your face in kisses. She has a hilariously goofy personality, and there are never any dull moments when she is around. She loves to play fetch! Cheerio has mastered a few basic manners, like sit and down, but would benefit from some continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. Cheerio has done well living with other large dogs and could be a great wrestling buddy for another playful pup. She also wouldn't mind being your one and only - more treats and cuddles for her! Cheerio thinks kitties are fun to chase, but with a slow introduction and proper supervision, she has learned to live with dog-savvy cats. Cheerio could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Cheerio has been doing great with her housetraining. Cheerio has done well being left alone in her crate for short periods, but very much prefers when one her foster family members can work from home. She is happy to sleep through the night in her crate. Cheerio is such a fantastic dog, and she can't wait to meet her fur-ever family! If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Cheerio's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. February 7, 2026, 7:37 pm

Story
Zeus is very smart and playful, he loves toys and learns routines quickly. Zeus loves to play chase and tug anytime. He is learning his manners well, but he still barks and gets excited easily so he may do best somewhere he has a little space to play on his own. He is very friendly with other people, he wants to play and will go get his toys and attempt to engage you in tug of war. He likes to chase balls but is still learning “drop”. If you have a couple toys to alternate with, he will fetch. He loves belly rubs. Zeus loves his treats but is pretty mellow about mealtimes. He will take food from your hand gently. We give him food 3 times a day and he often eats it slowly throughout the day, he doesn’t gobble food or overeat. When we need to give him pills he will eat a spoon of peanut butter with meds with no problem. Zeus crates well; he will go in there easily if you point inside and often takes naps in there on his own. His foster parents are home a lot so he is a little spoiled with attention, but he is used to being in his crate alone for a few hours at a time. He is both affectionate and sometimes self-sufficient. He likes to be with you or cuddle, and he also seems comfortable napping in the ‘other’ room. We have not tested Zeus with cats but he has a strong chase/hunt instinct and always goes after birds or squirrels. Zeus is sweet but he does get excited and can jump or be a rough player. He is learning not to jump up so much, but he does seem to like standing up on his hind legs. He is also pretty vocal when he is playing

Story
At two and a half months old, Bingo was found alone in a field and scared. It was discovered shortly after that that he had two congenital heart defects. Right now, one compensates for the other. We do not know what this means for Bingo long-term, but he has no idea he is sick and lives life to the fullest. Bingo is a playful young dog that is approximately one year old. Bingo enjoys his dog and human friends. He has no exercise limitations, so we allow Bingo to self-regulate. Although he would not make a good hiking or running companion, he loves running and playing with friends. He has never met a toy that he doesn’t love. He can self-entertain with a ball for a long time. Bingo is crate-trained but can also be left in the house freely without concern for destruction. He loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping on the human’s bed. Bingo has been raised in a home with several dogs and would prefer to live with another doggy resident. Bingo enjoys outings to the park, lake, and patio restaurants. He is a great companion and snuggly buddy!

Story
Meet Walter - A Gentle Old SoulWalter is a 9-year-old sweet boy who came to the shelter as a stray and has been nothing but polite and easygoing. He’s quiet in his kennel, well-mannered, and has a calm presence that makes him a joy to be around. He recently participated in dog-to-dog introductions and did well overall. He was a bit too interested in a potential kennel mate (he’s not neutered yet), so pairing wasn’t the right fit at that time.During his Jog-A-Thon adventure, Walter showed he is walker, not a runner. He loves to sniff, explore at a gentle pace, and soak in the world around him. He can get a little spooked on leash at first, but once settled, he enjoys his strolls. He takes treats gently, is learning “sit,” and seems to be potty trained. This sweet guy is underweight and could use some TLC (and extra treats). He’s also dealing with some tummy troubles likely related to shelter stress, staff and the vet team are already on it. He’s affectionate, gentle, not a barker at all, and truly has excellent manners. Walter is a quiet, loving companion just waiting for someone to give him the comfort and stability he deserves.Walter`s adoption fee has been paid for with a donation from Anna Kay
