Courtesy Post – Rehoming Needed This dog is not at the shelter. Meet Luka – a joyful and energetic 1.5-year-old female Boxer (fawn with black and white markings). &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Spayed/Neutered: No (on a waitlist for spay before Boxer Rescue can take her) &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Vaccines: Current &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Potty trained: Yes &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Crate trained: Yes Luka has been with her family since she was a young puppy. She is a well-socialized, affectionate, and playful girl who loves children, enjoys people of all ages, and thrives in an active environment. She has lived around dogs and kids. Luka is incredibly athletic and sometimes uses her strength and energy in ways that can be difficult to manage—such as chasing or getting too rough with small animals. Because of this, Luka will do best in a home without livestock or small critters. If left indoors provide toys to help stimulate her and redirect her energy. Her family describes her as loving, eager to please, enthusiastic, and curious. She greets visitors with joy and excitement, always hoping for playtime, pets, or a game of fetch. Luka would be a wonderful match for an experienced adopter who can give her structure, training, and outlets for her high energy. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Luka, please contact her owner, Tezerash, directly: Phone: (916) 539-3534 Email: jjjjorgens@yahoo.com All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Story
*Courtesy Post**Courtesy Post - Nala is not at the shelter, if you are interested please contact her current owner at nathanmadden164@yahoo.com*  Meet Nala! Nala is a friendly and energetic 1 year old boxer mix looking for a new home where she can thrive. She’s been part of her current family since she was 10 weeks old and has been well-loved, but her owners feel she would do best in a home where she can get the one-on-one attention she deserves. She has lived as an inside dog and is used to being part of the family. She does not like being alone and has jumped her owner's fence when left by herself in the yard.  Nala gets very excited when meeting people and may jump in her enthusiasm, so she’s often crated when small children are around to prevent accidental tumbles. She’s looking for a new family who can provide her with consistent training, patience, and lots of love. With the right attention and guidance, Delta has so much potential to be a wonderful companion. If you’re interested in meeting Nala, please contact Nathan at (530) 828-1024 or email nathanmadden164@yahoo.com. Let’s help Nala find her perfect forever home! All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Story
Watch out, world - here comes Cheerio! Cheerio is estimated to be just under a year old. She is a ball of fun who is eager to go on adventures and make new friends. She is the cuddle master and thinks that naps are way better with a buddy. She is an active girl looking for a family who can keep up with her puppy antics. Cheerio weighs about 40lbs and we think she is still growing, so our best guess is that she will be around 50-60lbs when fully grown. Cheerio came to us from an overcrowded Central California animal shelter. She was found as a stray, and no family ever came for her. She was at the shelter for about a month and was then placed on the euthanasia list simply due to a lack of space. We quickly were able to find a foster home to take her in, and she has been settling in well since coming to us. Cheerio is a total lovebug who thrives on human attention. She can be a tad cautious when she meets a new person, but she is quick to warm up and cover your face in kisses. She has a hilariously goofy personality, and there are never any dull moments when she is around. She loves to play fetch! Cheerio has mastered a few basic manners, like sit and down, but would benefit from some continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. Cheerio has done well living with other large dogs and could be a great wrestling buddy for another playful pup. She also wouldn't mind being your one and only - more treats and cuddles for her! Cheerio thinks kitties are fun to chase, but with a slow introduction and proper supervision, she has learned to live with dog-savvy cats. Cheerio could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Cheerio has been doing great with her housetraining. Cheerio has done well being left alone in her crate for short periods, but very much prefers when one her foster family members can work from home. She is happy to sleep through the night in her crate. Cheerio is such a fantastic dog, and she can't wait to meet her fur-ever family! If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Cheerio's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. September 4, 2025, 5:11 pm

Story
Zeus is very smart and playful, he loves toys and learns routines quickly. Zeus loves to play chase and tug anytime. He is learning his manners well, but he still barks and gets excited easily so he may do best somewhere he has a little space to play on his own. He is very friendly with other people, he wants to play and will go get his toys and attempt to engage you in tug of war. He likes to chase balls but is still learning “drop”. If you have a couple toys to alternate with, he will fetch. He loves belly rubs. Zeus loves his treats but is pretty mellow about mealtimes. He will take food from your hand gently. We give him food 3 times a day and he often eats it slowly throughout the day, he doesn’t gobble food or overeat. When we need to give him pills he will eat a spoon of peanut butter with meds with no problem. Zeus crates well; he will go in there easily if you point inside and often takes naps in there on his own. His foster parents are home a lot so he is a little spoiled with attention, but he is used to being in his crate alone for a few hours at a time. He is both affectionate and sometimes self-sufficient. He likes to be with you or cuddle, and he also seems comfortable napping in the ‘other’ room. We have not tested Zeus with cats but he has a strong chase/hunt instinct and always goes after birds or squirrels. Zeus is sweet but he does get excited and can jump or be a rough player. He is learning not to jump up so much, but he does seem to like standing up on his hind legs. He is also pretty vocal when he is playing

Story
At two and a half months old, Bingo was found alone in a field and scared. It was discovered shortly after that that he had two congenital heart defects. Right now, one compensates for the other. We do not know what this means for Bingo long-term, but he has no idea he is sick and lives life to the fullest. Bingo is a playful young dog that is approximately one year old. Bingo enjoys his dog and human friends. He has no exercise limitations, so we allow Bingo to self-regulate. Although he would not make a good hiking or running companion, he loves running and playing with friends. He has never met a toy that he doesn’t love. He can self-entertain with a ball for a long time. Bingo is crate-trained but can also be left in the house freely without concern for destruction. He loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping on the human’s bed. Bingo has been raised in a home with several dogs and would prefer to live with another doggy resident. Bingo enjoys outings to the park, lake, and patio restaurants. He is a great companion and snuggly buddy!

Story
Meet Gunther, the lovable goofball with a heart as big as his energy! If you’re looking for a dog who can keep up with your adventures and melt into your lap afterward, Gunther is your guy! This affectionate, energetic, and endlessly curious pup is the definition of a happy-go-lucky companion. On his Doggie Day Out, Gunther started the morning ready to drive the car himself (don’t worry, he settled for being co-pilot). Once out and about, he greeted everyone like a long-lost friend and quickly became the star of every stop, from the coffee shop (where he devoured his pup cup) to lunch at Mas Taco, where he won over the waiter with his charm and snuggles.Gunther is strong and full of energy, so he’ll need someone who can help channel that enthusiasm through positive training and regular exercise. He can pull on leash and gets vocal around other dogs, but his excitement seems rooted in curiosity and friendliness, he just wants to meet everyone! After a day full of walks, pets, and love, Gunther showed his softer side: cuddly, sweet, and happiest when he’s close to his person.Gunther is looking for an active, experienced adopter who’s ready for a loyal best friend full of love, kisses, and goofy joy. With patience and training, this big-hearted boy will make an incredible companion!Gunther`s adoption fee has been paid for with a donation from Tim Pantle

Story
Ariana aka Ari / A716448 I went to a foster home with 2 of my siblings in July. We were about 2 months young. I was adopted by my Foster Mom’s (FM) friend in late August. She was teaching me leash manners & working on potty training me. Sadly, she passed away in November. I’m now back with my FM & am getting better with potty training. The shelter listed us as Pit Bull mixes, but I sure don’t look like one. I have a long, slender body, & my legs are really long too. My snout is long, & my ears stand up straight, most of the time. One folds over when it’s being ‘lazy’.My FM has an 11 year young dog plus an 8 year young foster dog, Tootsie. Tootsie & I play nonstop even though she’s half my size. I like all the dogs I’ve met & all the humans too. I’m generous with kisses, & I love sleeping on your feet or lap. My FM doesn’t think I’d be good with cats. I’d love a family who would play with me & take me for walks. I sure love my toys & will come with some of my favorites. Oh, I’m good riding in the car too. I love playing in the backyard with the other dogs, but I do NOT like that ‘wet stuff falling from the sky’! FM puts potty pads in the house & in the garage, so we don’t have to get wet. Yes, we’re spoiled!
