Story
Watch out, world - here comes Cheerio! Cheerio is estimated to be just under 2 years old. She is a ball of fun who is eager to go on adventures and make new friends. She is the cuddle master and thinks that naps are way better with a buddy. She is an active girl looking for a family who can keep up with her puppy antics. Cheerio weighs about 64lbs and is fully grown. Cheerio came to us from an overcrowded Central California animal shelter. She was found as a stray, and no family ever came for her. She was at the shelter for about a month and was then placed on the euthanasia list simply due to a lack of space. We quickly were able to find a foster home to take her in, and she has been settling in well since coming to us. Cheerio is a total lovebug who thrives on human attention. She can be a tad cautious when she meets a new person, but she is quick to warm up and cover your face in kisses. She has a hilariously goofy personality, and there are never any dull moments when she is around. She loves to play fetch! Cheerio has mastered a few basic manners, like sit and down, but would benefit from some continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. Cheerio has done well living with other large dogs and could be a great wrestling buddy for another playful pup. She also wouldn't mind being your one and only - more treats and cuddles for her! Cheerio thinks kitties are fun to chase, but with a slow introduction and proper supervision, she has learned to live with dog-savvy cats. Cheerio could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Cheerio has been doing great with her housetraining. Cheerio has done well being left alone in her crate for short periods, but very much prefers it when one of her foster family members can work from home. She is happy to sleep through the night in her crate. Cheerio is such a fantastic dog, and she can't wait to meet her fur-ever family! If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Cheerio's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. August 6, 2026, 4:44 pm

Story
Grayson is a big, white hunk of love! He is the biggest love bug and cuddly boy you will ever meet. He is a licking machine and will try to give you kisses any chance he gets. And don’t be deceived by his size, all 73 lbs. of this affectionate boxer boy loves to cuddle and act like he’s small enough to be a lap dog. He will play ball, go for walks/hikes, jog with you, or play in the backyard. He’s also a chill boy in the house and will lay in his bed or cuddle with you in yours. He can be active outside and mellow inside, best of both worlds! He loves going on outings and gets excited to go for car rides. Grayson is the ultimate adventure buddy and is always up for anything! Grayson does get a little anxious when left alone and would prefer someone who can hangout with him most of the day and take him on fun adventures! He is very food motivated so you cannot leave him unattended in a room with food or he will find it (and eat it lol)! Grayson loves all people, including kids, and would be a great addition to any family. He can be jumpy when he gets excited, so dog savvy children would be better for him. Grayson does get along with some dogs but can be reactive with others. He is mostly reactive when on the leash but if out in a yard he is very playful and friendly with dogs. We have found that he is great with small dogs male or female! He is a very good playmate and friend to the resident small female dog that lives with him. He can be selective when it comes to bigger male dogs. Overall, Grayson could thrive in a home without other dogs, with small dogs, with dogs who are submissive, or as an only dog. If you think Grayson could be a good fit for you, please apply online to meet him. He is awaiting his forever home that will embrace his loving, goofy self!

Story
Gypsy has been waiting for her forever home since she was just a puppy at the Milo Foundation Sanctuary. Through it all, she has never stopped hoping that the right person will come along. Gypsy is an active, loyal girl who is happiest by your side. She would thrive with someone who enjoys hiking, running, exploring new trails, or simply spending time outdoors. If you're looking for a dedicated adventure partner and workout buddy, Gypsy is ready to join you every step of the way. Because Gypsy loves having her person all to herself, she would do best as the only dog in the home. In return, she'll give you her whole heart and become a faithful companion who wants nothing more than to share life's adventures with you. This wonderful girl has been waiting far too long for the chance to experience the love and comfort of a home of her own. Could you be the one she's been waiting for? Story
Sweet 9.5 month old blue nose pitbull puppy. She has lots of energy. She is crate and dog door trained. She can sit, lay down, and shakes on command. If you tell her place, she will get onto a bed or place board. She responds to a come command and is still working on her stay commands. Unfortunately she doesn't get enough interaction with our schedule, so we are hoping she can go to her new forever home where she can receive the attention she deserves.

Story
Lucky Charms is the definition of a sweet, cuddly, eager-to-please good boy. He loves being close to people, soaks up affection, and has that special kind of loving energy that just makes you want to keep him by your side. He’s also a smart and willing learner who truly wants to please. Once he’s fully healed, we think he’s going to thrive as an active companion who enjoys training, learning new tricks, and joining you on life’s adventures. Right now, Lucky Charms is on bed rest while his leg continues to heal from a fracture—and he’s been doing great. We also believe Lucky Charms may be deaf in one ear, but it doesn’t slow him down at all. Dogs like him are incredibly resilient and often build even stronger connections with their people through communication and trust. Lucky Charms came to Oakland Animal Services before coming to Heart Dog Harbor. Despite everything he’s been through, he has remained incredibly loving, gentle, and trusting. He’s truly a special dog—so sweet, so loving, and so ready for his next chapter. He is the very definition of a good boy!
