Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Izzy (short for Isabella because I’m so bella!)   ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I’m a gorgeous girl!    HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born on November 29, 2018.
WHAT BREED ARE YOU? Just the most perfect Boxer/Pit Bull mix! HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I’m 80 pounds of pure love!  WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I’m a classic, fawn Boxer beauty with soulful brown eyes and natural black eyeshadow.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I’ll pretty much eat anything but have a soft spot for cheese! Can you blame me, though? Cheese is life! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am goofy and playful but also love a good cuddle sesh. I’m loyal to my humans and adore little kids!  DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: Oh that’s easy! My perfect day would start with a long walk, popping some bubbles or chasing a ball, then some quality couch time with my humans, followed by a nice long nap. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Anything that squeaks will not squeak for very long when I get my paws on it!  DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I’m good with the basics, sit, stay, leave it, and wait! I am very food motivated, so if you want me to learn more, bring on the treats! WHAT SCARES YOU? On leash, I am sometimes nervous about other dogs, so I can be very protective of my humans.   HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I LOVE children, especially little ones! I am so tolerant of their shenanigans, although I appreciate when my humans step in when they start to get a little handsy with me!  DO YOU LIKE CATS? Oh, no thanks. I’ll pass on cats!  HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love playing with other dogs, especially puppies. As I mentioned earlier, I can get uncomfortable with some dogs when on leash. I’m practicing and getting better, treats can help!    IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? It doesn’t matter where I am as long as we’re together. Right beside my human is the best place in the world!  HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m very healthy but getting some arthritis in my hind legs because I’m a big girl.    WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with two adults and two children under five years old. My foster mom is my super-favorite person in the world right now, although those littles sure are a lot of fun!   WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I chill. Sometimes on the couch, sometimes on the floor. I take myself out and like to find cool spots in the house.   WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Pretty flexible! Couch, floor, dog bed. A crate if I must but I like crates the least.
DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? A leash means walks! I love walking on a leash!    DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? I love my family! Sometimes when I’m on leash I have a hard time telling between friend or foe. Even though I’m big, that doesn’t stop me from acting like a puppy. I am willing to learn, so let’s spend some time working together and have some fun bonding while you teach me what you want me to do!   ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) Yes, I am! No problems there! Make sure you tell me where and I’ll stick to it.   DO YOU LIKE WATER? I’m not much of a swimmer but I love getting in the water and playing with the hose. Maybe you can teach me how to swim?   WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love spending time with my foster family, especially all the cuddles. The best is when I get to hang out with the kids. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I was born in an animal shelter in Oakland. I had a wonderful family and was very loved. But they had to move out of the country and couldn’t take me, so now NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is helping me with this next chapter of my life. I would love to meet you and be a part of your family forever!   **IZZY’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300.** If you are interested in adopting Izzy, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
Introducing London! She is a beautiful boxer/American bulldog mix (per dna test) who was out of time in the shelter. Her estimated dob is 3/1/24 and should be around 50 to 55lbs full grown. London is doing well.  She is a typical puppy who needs rules and boundaries. London needs proper introductions to strangers.  She is easily redirected to her toys and has been good about not chewing things in the house  She does like to dig a little and explore the yard.  She is doing great with the other pack members in the house and loves her visits to another foster to play with a group of youngsters!.  She is an exhuberant player. And London really likes the water! We are walking in the neighborhood daily.  She is also learning basic commands. She is now on to the Intermediate obedience class and is picking up the commands quickly.  London stays in a crate at night and when her foster mom is away from the house. Potty training has been conquered. And London uses a dog door.  Car rides are also going well.  Cats are unknown. London's wish list: 1.   secure yard 2.   no small children 3.   Obedience training ongoing 4.   Daily walks 5.   Continued socialization   6.   A playful dog friend would be good too!   Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Meet Baloo, your snuggle girly! 💖 Baloo is a beautiful 3-year-old Boxer/American Staffy mix with the softest cuddles and the silliest personality. This girl is searching for a patient, loving home where she can truly shine. Baloo is incredibly gentle and absolutely wonderful with children. She has a calm, tender spirit that makes her a great fit for families. She does best with older kids or younger children who can understand and respect her boundaries. This cutie is very eager to learn! She picks up on routines quickly, responds beautifully to praise, and genuinely wants to please. Baloo can be timid when meeting new people, but once she feels safe, her sweet, cuddly personality blossoms. She thrives with someone patient, gentle, and willing to build trust at her pace. In terms of the perfect home, Baloo would flourish in a place with no other pets, or with a calm, larger neutered male dog who gives her space and helps her feel secure. Ready to meet this cuddle bug? (spay on 12/29)

Courtesy Post – Rehoming Needed This dog is not at the shelter. Meet Luka – a joyful and energetic 1.5-year-old female Boxer (fawn with black and white markings). &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Spayed/Neutered: No (on a waitlist for spay before Boxer Rescue can take her) &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Vaccines: Current &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Potty trained: Yes &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Crate trained: Yes Luka has been with her family since she was a young puppy. She is a well-socialized, affectionate, and playful girl who loves children, enjoys people of all ages, and thrives in an active environment. She has lived around dogs and kids. Luka is incredibly athletic and sometimes uses her strength and energy in ways that can be difficult to manage—such as chasing or getting too rough with small animals. Because of this, Luka will do best in a home without livestock or small critters. If left indoors provide toys to help stimulate her and redirect her energy. Her family describes her as loving, eager to please, enthusiastic, and curious. She greets visitors with joy and excitement, always hoping for playtime, pets, or a game of fetch. Luka would be a wonderful match for an experienced adopter who can give her structure, training, and outlets for her high energy. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Luka, please contact her owner, Tezerash, directly: Phone: (916) 539-3534 Email: jjjjorgens@yahoo.com All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. *Courtesy Post**Courtesy Post - Nala is not at the shelter, if you are interested please contact her current owner at nathanmadden164@yahoo.com*  Meet Nala! Nala is a friendly and energetic 1 year old boxer mix looking for a new home where she can thrive. She’s been part of her current family since she was 10 weeks old and has been well-loved, but her owners feel she would do best in a home where she can get the one-on-one attention she deserves. She has lived as an inside dog and is used to being part of the family. She does not like being alone and has jumped her owner's fence when left by herself in the yard.  Nala gets very excited when meeting people and may jump in her enthusiasm, so she’s often crated when small children are around to prevent accidental tumbles. She’s looking for a new family who can provide her with consistent training, patience, and lots of love. With the right attention and guidance, Delta has so much potential to be a wonderful companion. If you’re interested in meeting Nala, please contact Nathan at (530) 828-1024 or email nathanmadden164@yahoo.com. Let’s help Nala find her perfect forever home! All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Story
Watch out, world - here comes Cheerio! Cheerio is estimated to be just under a year old. She is a ball of fun who is eager to go on adventures and make new friends. She is the cuddle master and thinks that naps are way better with a buddy. She is an active girl looking for a family who can keep up with her puppy antics. Cheerio weighs about 40lbs and we think she is still growing, so our best guess is that she will be around 50-60lbs when fully grown. Cheerio came to us from an overcrowded Central California animal shelter. She was found as a stray, and no family ever came for her. She was at the shelter for about a month and was then placed on the euthanasia list simply due to a lack of space. We quickly were able to find a foster home to take her in, and she has been settling in well since coming to us. Cheerio is a total lovebug who thrives on human attention. She can be a tad cautious when she meets a new person, but she is quick to warm up and cover your face in kisses. She has a hilariously goofy personality, and there are never any dull moments when she is around. She loves to play fetch! Cheerio has mastered a few basic manners, like sit and down, but would benefit from some continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. Cheerio has done well living with other large dogs and could be a great wrestling buddy for another playful pup. She also wouldn't mind being your one and only - more treats and cuddles for her! Cheerio thinks kitties are fun to chase, but with a slow introduction and proper supervision, she has learned to live with dog-savvy cats. Cheerio could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Cheerio has been doing great with her housetraining. Cheerio has done well being left alone in her crate for short periods, but very much prefers when one her foster family members can work from home. She is happy to sleep through the night in her crate. Cheerio is such a fantastic dog, and she can't wait to meet her fur-ever family! If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Cheerio's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. September 4, 2025, 5:11 pm

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! My name is Fig!   ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am the MOST adorable young lady!   HOW OLD ARE YOU? Best we can tell, I was probably born around May 2024.   WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a super cute low rider bully mix.   HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? My ideal weight is around 35 pounds. I am working hard to attain that weight through a low calorie diet because I have gained a few extra pounds as I have gotten healthy and comfortable in foster care. At the moment, I weigh 40 pounds.   WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I have a wrinkly face, a cute underbite, and short, chubby legs. My coloring is fawn, and, in the sun, I glow like a beautiful star. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention my gorgeous light green eyes!   WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? As I mentioned, I am watching my calories, so my foster parents feed me a good quality, low calorie kibble.   WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am the sweetest girl ever! One of my favorite things to do is cuddle with a human on the couch because I love the attention. Attention is really the thing for me…I want to be the center of attention, the star of the show, and the life of the party! I am still young, so I have a lot of energy for walks and playtime. Let’s play fetch or tug with my toys!   DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: I am pretty chill in the morning and will wait patiently for my humans to start the day. After dealing with the morning business, I love to go for a walk or a car ride, followed by lots of couch cuddles and naps. After some playtime with my foster brother, we both like to bake in the sun like the potatoes that we are! In sum: naps, cuddles, playtime, and sunbathing would be the perfect day for me.   WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I love pretty much all the toys! Nibbling on my squeaky stuffies is the current favorite, though.   DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? Yes! I know how to sit and stay, and I will “go to apartment,” which is my fancy bedroom pen where I eat my meals and sleep. Oh, and perhaps my best trick is getting any and all humans to sit down on the couch and let me get up on their lap! I am an expert at that trick!   WHAT SCARES YOU? Oh, I am definitely not a fan of loud noises. I am slowly making friends with the vacuum cleaner and the blender—but those things still seem pretty suspicious, if you ask me. To help keep me from getting too scared when I’m alone, my foster mom makes sure I am relaxed and comfortable by turning on the television with soft music.   HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I have hung out with some older kids (over 12 years old) and I did very well. That was fun! I do tend to get excited and jump up on people to get their attention, so it would probably be best if I am in a home with older kids only.   DO YOU LIKE CATS? I haven’t been around any cats, so I can’t say one way or the other. It is probably best that we stick to dog friends for me, thanks.   HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I live with two other dogs in my foster home and we get along great. Introductions were taken slowly to set us up for a successful friendship, and I think that slow intros are key for me. It will help me to have time to get used to a new home, then gradually increasing exposure to any resident dogs in stages. I am playful and fun, and if we do this right, I will be an amazing friend for your dogs!   IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I would be on the couch, lying comfortably right next to my human or, better yet, lying comfortably ON my human! I will fall asleep as the happiest little nugget in your arms!   HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am a strong and healthy girl! After I get to my goal weight, I will just need to maintain it and we are good to go!   WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster parents, my foster brother Fez, and my foster sister Hazel. My closest companion is my foster mom, who is my cuddle buddy on the couch as she reads or watches television.   WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I am really great in my “apartment” when my humans leave the house! I settle quickly on my bed and calmly wait for them to return.   WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep comfortably in my cozy apartment. We have occasional slumber parties where we all pile into my foster parents’ bed, and I am such a good girl! I sleep through the night like an angel.   DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I love walks! I get really excited to see my leash come out and then it is so much fun to get out and about in the neighborhood. Sometimes I will just stop mid-stride to spend some time taking in the amazing smells (who doesn’t love all the smells, right?).   DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I mentioned above that it’s all about me getting all the attention, right? Yeah, that’s the thing. I have a habit of nipping fingers and jumping up on people when I greet them. I am working on not doing this because I know I should be sitting quietly waiting for people to pet me. It’s hard because I love people so much and want to get their attention right away. I hope to learn how to control my excitement better. I will benefit from a forever home that will continue to work with me on my manners and training for good behaviors.   ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? My foster parents make sure that I have access to the backyard on a regular schedule to help prevent accidents in the house. I’ve done great! I sleep through the night with no problem (yay, me!) and I will take myself outside if the door is open. But it is helpful to have a reminder to “go potty” because I sometimes get caught up in all the fun that is happening inside the house and forget to go out.   DO YOU LIKE WATER? I don’t like the hose at all. But I absolutely love a warm, soapy bath. I get all blissed out to the point that I actually fell asleep while bathing the other day!   WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that my foster family makes me feel safe and loved. While I am learning good behaviors, they are so patient with my training. I feel very lucky to have a foster family that is helping me get used to a whole new, wonderful way of life. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I was found roaming the streets of San Francisco. I was extremely skinny and was brought to SF Animal Care and Control. Luckily, I didn’t have to stay at that place very long before NorCal Bully Breed Rescue got me out of there and brought me to my foster home. While in foster care, I have gained weight, my coat is shiny, I give wet sloppy kisses, and I am a great companion dog now. It is time for me to find my forever family! Are you ready to bring me home with you? **FIG’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300.** If you are interested in adopting Fig, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). I can be shy when meeting new people, but I am quick to warm up and then I am everyone’s best friend! I love attention and “talk” a lot to make sure that everyone knows I’m supposed to be getting the MOST attention! 🤭 DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day is hanging out with my people and playing with my foster brother, Sage, until we are tired. Then it’s nap time! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I really enjoy bones of all sorts. I also like to play fetch with stuffies that my foster mom throws for me. That is the MOST fun!🧸 DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I will sit like such a good girl in exchange for a yummy treat! I am food motivated, so I would love to learn more tricks if you’d like to feed me more! WHAT SCARES YOU? I am cautious around new people and dogs. With slow introductions, I will figure out that I don’t need to worry about new things, so please show me patience. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? Yes, I have! I have been around some 11-year-olds and I do very well. Because I am a bit uncertain about new things, it is probably best for me to hang out with older kids rather than little ones, since the little ones will not understand my need for taking things slowly. DO YOU LIKE CATS? Oh, no thank you. I am not a fan of cats. 🐱 HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? If you set me up for success with slow, safe introductions, I would love to have a dog to play with. My foster brother and I have lots of fun playing together.🐶 IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? With my forever family and possibly a foster sibling! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? When I was rescued, I had some injuries to my shoulders and pelvis, but those have healed up nicely. When I run, I have a bit of a hitch in my giddy-up, but that doesn’t stop me from having fun! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom, foster sister, their three resident dogs, three resident cats (who I do not like), and another foster dog sister. My closest companion is Sage, my foster brother Rhodesian Ridgeback.💕 WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? When I am home alone, I am either in the kitchen/living room area for short periods of time, or in my X-pen in the garage. No matter where I am, I do not have a problem being alone. I am such a good girl! WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my cozy X-pen in the garage.😴 DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I do not mind walking on a leash. I get a bit overexcited when I see other dogs on a leash, but if you take the time to work with me, I will learn to temper my excitement.🐕‍🦺 DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I am an enthusiastic playmate and sometimes get a little excited, but I'm still learning my boundaries. I prefer to enjoy my meals and bones in peace, and I appreciate when my space is respected during those times. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes! I am house trained and will wait for my foster mom to take me out to go potty. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I do! Sometimes I get to play with water when my mom is washing her car, and that is so much fun! I am also a very good girl when it comes to bath time! 🛁 WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? My foster family has been so wonderful helping me recover from my injuries and helping me not be scared. I am learning what it feels like to be safe and loved, and that’s the most amazing feeling! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I actually don’t remember too much about the “before times.” I got hurt and ended up in a shelter, which wasn’t very fun. But then NorCal Bully Breed Rescue swooped in and got me out of that place so I could heal in a safe, comfortable, loving foster home. Now I am feeling so much better and it is time for me to find my forever family! I would love to meet you and come home with you for cuddles and loves! 💖 ⭐️SALT’S ADOPTION FEE IS $ 100.⭐️ If you are interested in adopting SALT, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County).
