Story
** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING ** ** SAM IS LOCATED IN THE CENTRAL VALLEY ** Once Sam knows you are his person, he will be your devoted side kick. Samwise (aka Sam) is a handsome young adult Boxer/Malamute/Husky (DNA sequencing available) mix stray for a family to call his own. Sam was abandoned on a rural property. The property owner had him scanned for a microchip and contacted his owners who did not want him back and surrendered him. His benefactor was kind enough to keep him from euthanasia in a shelter and is caring for him while looking to place this lovable young man in his furever home. Sam is estimated to be twenty months old and weighs 68 pounds. Sam is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped (medical records available). Sam has been in the same home for the past three months, but the family is unable to keep him due to other commitments. Sam is accustomed to being inside and is housebroken (of course he would need to learn the rules at your house.) He is active outside, entertaining himself and those around him by tossing the ball to himself, playing in the sprinklers and the kiddy pool. He enjoys walks and playing with other dogs. Sam is submissive with other dogs and usually rolls on his back when playing. Sam is very tolerant, however due to his size and playfulness, he is best suited for older children. Sam can be initially shy of strangers, but once he knows he’s safe he is confident and friendly, even with delivery personnel such as the Amazon driver and the postal person. More than anything, Sam loves people and enjoys cuddling on a lap or being brushed, as well as just being in the same room as humans and “watching” them work. Sam may have a prey drive, so a home without cats is recommended. Sam has almost 100% recall when off leash. He is very pack oriented and will not leave on pack walks even when he is off leash. He is also quite an adventurer, loving car rides, kayaking and tent camping. While Sam knows his basic commands (sit, down, stay, come), he tends to pull on the leash. He is attending a seven week training course with his foster mom and would benefit from training with his new family. If you think your home is a good match for Sam, please email Sue at s2springer@hotmail.com and describe a bit about the home you would provide for this young man.

Story
Hi Neighbors We’re heartbroken to say we are looking to re-home our sweet pup Winnie, a 70 lbs Boxer mix. Winnie is a lovebug who is wonderful around people, loves her toys, rolling in the grass and being close to her humans. She rarely barks, sleeps through the night, is house trained, doesn’t chew anything, and is up to date on vaccinations. She’s also a smart one! She learned to command to lay down in one afternoon! While she’s well behaved on walks and out in public (bars, restaurants, stores), she seems to be territorial of her own home/space. She would do best as the only dog in the home. If you or anyone you know is looking to adopt a sweet girl, please send me a message. We will continue to foster her until we find the right forever home for her.

Story
Lentil is a 10 month old medium sized beautiful boxer pit mix with a whole lot of love to offer. She is such a lover and she has a lot of puppy energy. She tries to be a lap dog regardless of her size. She loves to cuddle, go for walks, play with her doggy friends, and play with her toys. Her favorite games are fetch and tug! Lentil gets along well people and with dogs of all sizes. Due to her energetic personality I wouldn’t recommend her for family’s with children under 10 years old. She is a big funny goof ball and doesn’t fully understand her size. Lentil is crate trained at night, potty trained, leash trained, knows basic commands, and does great in public settings. She is very egger to learn and please. She craves human affection so she will need someone who has a lot of time for her and is experienced in this breed. Lentil is currently scheduled to be spayed on August 21st. Animal Rescue Recon makes sure that each dog is current on its vaccinations, has been or will be spayed or neutered, and is microchipped to help keep pets out of the shelters and get them back home where they belong. Story
Myrtle is a sweet senior Boxer gal who would love a quiet, calm household to retire to. She still has quite a bit of pep in her step and could do with a fair bit of activity! She has done well being left alone in her foster home but she does hope to find a home that will want to spend a lot of time at home, relaxing on the couch or window watching. Myrtle enjoys her walks and does well on leash, however she does enjoy the occasional squirrel chase though, so she needs a home that can handle her squirrel excitement on leash. We can't stress enough what a love bug this gal is, she is eager to find a soul mate to call her own! Myrtle would do best as an only dog. (She's house trained, too.)
