PERSONALITY A more perfect pintsize pup, one would be hard pressed to find. T-Bell is a petite girl but don't let her size fool you, her love of life and all things dog is XL. T-Bell is as sweet as she is small. One of T-Bell's most impressive talents is her ability to jump...super high. While this is great for catching balls and playing with other dogs it does mean her new home will need to have a tall and secure fence. Despite having a rough start to life she greets each new person and situation the same way she greets every new day, with curiosity and exuberance. One could not ask for a better partner in crime as T-Bell is a total social butterfly. She also enjoys cuddles, sunbathing, toys and other dogs. Overall T-Bell is a truly wonderful, happy girl who is ready to share her big heart and even bigger personality with a furever family. GROOMING NEEDS T-Bell has short fur and needs only basic grooming. Monthly baths, bi-weekly nail trims and brushings are all T-Bell needs to be her most handsome. That said, she is always up for a little extra grooming TLC. Did we mention that adorable underbite?! *Please note, we have witnessed some resource guarding around food with other dogs from T-Bell. From her awesome foster: " Taco-Bell (t-bell) is such a sweet pup. She has a little bit of anxiety at times with new people, especially men, but warms up very quickly if greeted slowly! She thinks she is a lap dog and loves to be cuddling by you. She is also a velcro dog and will love to follow you around. She struggles with her anxiety a little bit in the crate as well, so I have been leaving her out and she just hangs out on the couch and hasn't been destructive at all. She's pretty much potty trained and has just had a few accidents because we didn't get outside in time. Overall, she is a big love bug and would do great with an active lifestyle because she can be full of energy! ADOPTION FEE: $425 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Story
Meet Balboa! This adorable and happy boy is ready to find his forever home! From his foster: " Mr. Balboa aka Bo aka Boba aka Boa This young man has been an absolute joy to foster. Balboa loves to play with other dogs, humans, and is very gentle with the 7 month old baby in our house. He knows what he is allowed to chew on and play with, and hasn't even attempted to chew on any shoes, furniture, etc. Balboa uses the dog door and has never had an accident in his kennel or chewed up his fluffy bed (knock on wood). When he is ready for a nap, he excuses himself to his kennel or a sunny spot on the carpet. His puppy dreams are the sweetest. He loves to snuggle up at night time with our fluffy dog or any human with a free lap! He is used to helicopters flying overhead as we live right next to the hospital. He also chats with the neighborhood chickens through the fence when not attending other Balboa activities. ADOPTION FEE: $500 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. I got this puppy 2 weeks ago in a parking lot, he came from a Wy ranch & was headed to a shelter. I believe he was only 6-7 weeks old. He uses puppy pads successfully most of the time but prefers to do business outdoors. He is still too young for much history. He deserves a loving home with someone who knows about puppies & can provide him with proper care/training.

Meet Pita! He is a 2 year old Boxer mix and weighs 35lbs. *Pita is the most lovable pup who's easily grown into a staff and volunteer favorite with his big smile and full body wiggles! *Pita has excellent leash manners and is super smart. He is on an additional training plan to help keep him sharp and boy does he impress us! Pita has solid basic obedience skills and easily picks up on new commands in the first session. *He would greatly benefit from joining a household that is willing to provide him with plenty of physical exercise and mental enrichment. Due to some handling sensitivities mentioned in his previous home, he will need to go home with adults only. *After the perfect meet and greet, Pita would absolutely love to have another very tolerant dog with a rough and rowdy playstyle to keep him company and tucker him out so he's ready for cuddles and snoozin when its bedtime.May 27, 2024, 4:45 pm

Story
Just try and resist those eyes! Oz is a 7 month old, 45 lbs, Boxer mix. Yes, that’s an educated guess as the surrendering owner said French Bulldog, but I mean, I just don’t see it. Oz is a skeptical, sensitive boy. His brother, Marvel, has made the rules most of their lives. As young pups they entered a southern Colorado shelter and were recently transferred to our care because the shelter shut down. Oz is learning about home living. He even uses the doggie door now! He is slower to warm up, but he’s learning to trust and he finds his humans to be quite interesting to observe. Oz likes to play with dog toys and, given his age, is always down for a good doggie chew! He is also doing well with his crate training. Oz will thrive in a patient, loving home with a fenced yard and at least one other dog. A calmer environment would be best for him while he adjusts to his new world. Oz is in foster in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/oz. Story
Hi There! My name is Maggie and I am a two year old Boxer mix with the most wiggly butt and nub tail you could possibly imagine. I love my adult and teenage foster humans, but will need a home with kids ages 15+. Little kids are just so cute, but man they make me super nervous so my next home needs to be kiddo free–including visiting grandchildren. In my spare time, I am an avid TV watcher. My favorite shows are the NatGeo documentaries, Disney movies with animals, Netflix documentaries that feature older people, and the Amazing Race. I was captivated for almost an hour on Thanksgiving watching the National Dog show. I was really rooting for the boxer to win! My perfect home is one with with a strong routine as that is when I thrive! My day is like clockwork and that makes me super happy. I always know what to expect! I quietly lie on my dog bed with the four resident dogs in my foster humans’ home office during the day. I also love chewing on my Benebone. I get up to use my dog door, then go lie back down. Sometimes I play with my foster brother, then we snuggle together. The older lady dogs in the house don’t really want to play, so I 100% respect them and always leave them alone. When the work day is over, I have my dinner and then later that evening it is time to hang out on the couch and guess what…watch TV! I am crate trained and housebroken. I also attended a three week board and train with Colorado K9 in Castle Rock where I learned lots of commands and a strong recall skill! I also attended doggie day care there and found my favorite dogs to play with. I love my foster humans and give them love, but I am not needy at all. New people can frighten me some, so I will need a home who is ok with me taking time to get comfortable around new people. My foster mom can tell you exactly how to do that! I will also need a home with a playful dog companion. I really love one of my foster brothers and look to him for guidance in new situations and new people. And we play all the time!! I’d love a new dog sibling like this. My home will need to be small animal free as I have a high prey drive (cats, squirrels, fox, etc.). Speaking of that drive, my new home will need a six foot fence or shorter fence paired with an invisible fence cause I got hops! I cleared a four foot fence easily in hot pursuit of a squirrel and climbed out of a five foot one to chase deer. But if my new home doesn’t have a yard and we just go on walks and such, that is totally ok too! I walk beautifully on with my harness and love that time with my peeps exploring the neighborhood! Do you hike? I do and would love a family that goes on adventures like that! I know I have some quirks, but I am a very good girl and low maintenance dog that would love to finally find my forever home. Maggie is in foster in Castle Rock, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/maggie/. We found the cutest little peanut at Roswell Animal Control and we’ve named him Harold. Harold is an 8 month old, male, Boxer mix. He’s teeny tiny at only 25 lbs! Harold is obsessed with his humans. He wants to snuggle and play all the live long day. Harold is good with other dogs – but needs to dine alone. He’s also kid approved! While he doesn’t enjoy going into his crate he settles nicely once he’s there. Most importantly for Harold is a family of his own to love. If you aren’t sleeping with Harold tucked right into your arms under the covers, well, then you’ve not truly slept. Meet Chief! This handsome boy is ready to find his forever home! From his wonderful foster: "Chief is goofball with so much love to give. He is very food motivated and learns quickly with treat training! He is the ultimate cuddle baby and will want to be next to you at all times. He is incredibly affectionate and loves belly rubs and kisses. He has done amazing with the other household dog and does not bark on our walks when he sees other dogs. He walks great on leash and loves to take it slow to sniff around! He would be so happy in a home where he can get lots of affection and attention! Chief is excited and ready to find his forever family! Previous shelter staff notes: What a sweet and loving boy! The way to Chief's heart is with food and he loves everyone he meets! He did great in a large playgroup today and had no issues with toys or treats with the other dogs! He even tolerated my dress up shenanigans and he was a very polite gentleman today! Story
Meet Mimzy! She is a sweet medium sized girl that adores other dogs! She even played with a small dog and is such a happy and smiley girl! She was surrendered to our rescue partner because her family were moving and couldn't take her with them. She's great on a leash and is a social butterfly! From her current foster: " Mimzy is a fun, loving & super playful girl! She is very easily self entertained and plays with toys by herself sometimes. She loves to cuddle and will curl up right next to you if you let her. She is a big fan of treats and loves to receive any form of praise. She is not the biggest fan of skateboards & bicycles or other fast moving things (people running by her) but can be calmed down and responds very well to positive reinforcement when these things approach. She loves her crate and will lay in it occasionally just to relax/calm down, she never barks when in the crate and always is excited to see us when we return. She is very social and loves all people so much, she is a little iffy when it comes to other dogs with a big personality but with some time she comes around and plays well. As a whole Mimzy is a sweet pup who just wants someone to play with her and love her! From her previous foster: "Mimzy is a super sweet energetic dog and she wants to be around people all the time! She loves her stuffed toys and can keep herself occupied for quite a while with them. We are working on leash manners and not pulling but she is making good progress and is very treat motivated. She does great in her crate and does not bark while she is in there! She is not a huge fan of bikes and skateboards while she is on walks, but is redirected fairly easily with treats and pets and is working on barking less at passing people."
