Story
Kona is a beautiful boxer mix who will be 3 years old this May. She is full of love, joy, and personality, and she has the biggest heart. She forms strong bonds with her people and truly just wants to be close to those she loves. She is a high-energy girl who needs space to run, play, and be herself, so a home with a backyard is very important for her. Kona would do best as the only pet where she can soak up all the love and attention, though a calm, small dog may be okay with the right match and slow introduction. She is house trained and crate trained. She would thrive in a home with a family or individual who is home most of the time and can give her the time, exercise, and companionship she needs. Kona is loyal, people-focused, and wants nothing more than to be someone’s constant companion. March 9, 2026, 3:20 pm

Story
Luigi is one of those dogs that you just can’t get enough of! He’s lovable, friendly, perfectly pint-sized at only 35-40 lbs, and he’s just so dang happy! Luigi joined MHCR in November of 2025. Why in the heck is he just NOW preparing to find his forever home? Well, let’s just say he needed a little work done. Luigi had a horrible hip on one side due to prior unknown injury and needed an FHO. He recovered absolutely beautifully from that surgery and is medically cleared on that side. His OTHER back leg had a really badly luxated patella and he needed a 2nd surgery to get that leg all dialed in. He’s 6 weeks into his recovery and is expected to be cleared in early June. We’d love for him to be able to transition directly into his forever home when that happens! At only around 2 years old, Luigi is still very playful and puppy-like in nature. He ADORES children and would thrive in a home with a family of his own. He’s incredibly dog friendly and we feel it’s an absolute must for him to have at least one canine companion in his new home. Luigi has been house trained and crate trained in his foster home and we expect him to demonstrate the same in his adoptive home when he learns the routine. We aren’t entirely sure what his breed mix is, but he’s built like a small boxer (longer, skinny legs, deep chest) with the head of a Frenchie. He definitely has Boxer/Frenchie vibes and would be a fun addition to either breed enthusiast…plus he can breathe properly which makes him a great adventure buddy! Luigi is being fostered in Brighton, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/luigi/. Story
Hi. I’m Stella! I’m basically the full package: beauty, brains, bounce, and just a touch of dramatic flair. At 62 pounds, I’m what you might call “athletic goddess meets goofball roommate.” I’m about a year old and my foster mom thinks I’m a pittie/boxer/mastiff mix! 💕 About Me 🏃‍♀️ My Ideal Match You’re active. You like walks, hikes, adventures, maybe a little backyard zoomie time. I’m young and full of energy, and I’d love a family that’s excited to do life with me. 💪 Fun Fact (The Comeback Story) When I arrived in Colorado, I had a mystery broken hip. Plot twist: I’m healed now! I had surgery and don’t have a femoral head on one side, which just makes me unique. Think of it as a custom upgrade. It doesn’t slow me down from living my best life — it just makes me extra special edition. 🛋️ My Guilty Pleasure I may lie, cheat, and steal… I’ll lie right on top of you. I’ll cheat on you with any comfy couch. And I’ll steal your spot the second you stand up. But I do it in the absolute cutest way possible, so honestly, you’ll probably thank me. If you’re looking for: ✔️ A dog who loves other dogs ✔️ A big personality in a gorgeous 62-lb package ✔️ A loyal best friend once she trusts you ✔️ A comeback queen with a heart of gold Then congratulations. You just found your match. Stella is being fostered in Castle Rock, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/stella/. Story
Moose is a sweet and goofy dog. He is approximately 2 years old. He is super food motivated and therefore very trainable despite having a tough start at life. His previous owner rescued him when he was a puppy who was being abused and then running as a street dog in Texas and brought him to Colorado to rehome him. He and my other dog have not been getting along well enough for him to stay with me. Moose would likely be okay with a more submissive dog, but my other dog isn't a good fit for him. Moose is great with people, has been good with older kids (I dont know how he would be with infants or toddlers as I haven't had the opportunity to try him with any). Moose is also good with my cats. He is great on a leash but defensive with other dogs when on one. He is also a notorious counter surfer and will need someone who is good about putting food away. He is neutered, up to date on shots, has a year's supply of heartworm prevention, and had a negative heartworm test in April.

Story
Quinn is a 4 year old Pit mix. Due to a change in living situation we can no longer provide the time and attention she needs and deserve.Quinn is an amazing pup who was found outside emaciated and fostered back to health. She is fun, active and independently curious. She will be right by your side in whatever you’re doing but also love cuddling on your lap. She is the happiest with her people. She’s very playful and loves to fetch the ball or go for walks. She’s the brave leader and first to check out whatever you’re up to. She is friendly with older kids/teens but needs a home as a solo dog. I'm looking for a loving family who is willing to give her the time and attention she deserves. She is use to being kenneled during the workday and spend time with her humans after work. She would do best in a home that has a fenced yard to run around in and who can give her the attention she craves. She would do best in a home without small kids or other pets.

Story
Conan is a Pitbull mix, who loves his people. Because of his disability (with a bum front leg- birth defect), he is limited on activities, but he still lives a full life?! He loves to explore the yard and lay in the sun. He loves car rides, is house trained, loves playing with people and is good with kids. Conan does ok with the other dogs in his foster home, but would be best as an only dog in his future home (since he wants his people's attention all to himself). Conan has his funny moments were he does zoomies. Poor guy has been waiting for a forever home for 521 DAYS?! Please apply to meet this sweet and special boy. He is waiting in Aurora and available through Big Bones Rescue.

Story
Hi! I’m Bugsy, guessed to be an American Bully mix full of love and energy. At 1.5 years old, I adore playing with kids and going on exciting adventures. I’m super smart and treat motivated, which makes learning new tricks a breeze. Cuddles? Absolutely, I’m all in for a good snuggle session after a playful day. I'm great in a vehicle, love meeting other dogs, and I take direction pretty well. I'm also not a big barker. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion, I’m your guy! Come see me in Windsor!
