Hi, I’m Hunter! I’m a curious, playful, 6 week old pup. The shelter folks think I’m a Boxer/Pit mix. When I was only a couple weeks old, someone brought my mom, me, and my brothers and sisters to very noisy and scary shelter. My mom was so nervous, but some nice folks came and got us and brought us to a place called Colorado. We love it here! My foster mom says I’ll be ready to find a home of my own on September 16th. If you want to meet me, I’d love to meet you, too! Meet Sequoia! This sweet 2-year-old Boxer/Pit mix has already proven what a good mama she is. Sequoia arrived at a high-intake shelter in Houston with her seven neonate puppies and, despite doing everything she could to care for them, they all landed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a foster stepped up and gave this little family the second chance they desperately needed. Now that her puppy days are behind her, Sequoia is ready for a life where she gets to be the baby! She is incredibly social with people, loves kids, and seems to take the whole “making friends” thing very seriously. She’s also been non-reactive with her canine companions. Sequoia is smart, food motivated, and rides well in the car. She is a sweet, people-loving girl who has been through a lot and deserves nothing but the best from here on out. Her next chapter should involve plenty of love, comfy couches, and absolutely zero more puppies! He loves to cuddle, loves laying next to you, and just wants to be close to his people. He's a little timid when meeting other dogs, but once he gets comfortable, he warms up pretty quickly. He absolutely loves kids and people. He's excellent on a leash, and for me he's always done great off leash as well. The only time he really struggles is when he's scared. Thunder is probably his biggest enemy. When he's nervous, he'll either chew on something out of anxiety or come running over because he wants you to protect him from whatever has him worried."

We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience.
