Story
DIDA IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE ADOPTED! Say hello to Dida! She is a 2-3 year old boxer. Dida is about 45lbs. Dida entered her foster home as if she had always lived there. She loves each and every one of her foster siblings. It took a few days, but she showed us all how to really play with toys. Dida has been uncrated in her foster home from day one and is FOOLPROOF. She walks well on lead. Her house manners are impeccable. Understandably, Dida is still cautious around new folks, but quickly warms up. Her boxer dancing and prancing are a joy to see. If you love the breed, DO NOT miss the chance to love this girl all the rest of her days. The best home for Dida will have a secure fence. Kids over 10 and with excellent doggy manners would be ok. Another well temperamented dog would be fabulous. An excellent history of vet care for current or previous pets is required. Previous specific breed experience will be given preference. She is fully vetted including spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. Her adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to CT. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Dida up north to her new family. Story
Lucy had a hard life, and has the scars to show it. She was picked up from animal control and spent some time in doggie jail. She was lucky to cross the path of a kind person to get her out and got her vetting done. Heart worm treatment was done so she came into foster care. She is now looking for the perfect home to call her very own. Lucy is a bundle of energy. So a fenced yard would be great for her. A family that can take her on outdoor adventures would make this girl happy. She will need some training in manners, she likes to jump up & doesn't realize how big she is. She loves her stuffies and has not torn a one up. She gets along very well with all the dogs in foster care, little ones & big ones. She takes cues from them very well and doesn't push her luck when they say nope don't want to play. A buddy would be great for her that has the play power as her. She would love to find her forever home and putting her old life behind her. Lucy is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested posfor heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. Story
Miranda is a very sweet young girl who is living life as a queen now. She hadn't been able to live that life before rescue stepped in. She has learned to trust her human and gets along great with all the other foster dogs/pups as long as they aren't the dominant type. She is completely housetrained and will sit for treats. She loves to give kisses and loves to receive them as well. Watch her video on youtube - https://youtu.be/TvQD6IpMO8Y You can tell by watching the video, she is a people-pleaser and loves to listen to her human and receive the love and affection she can get! Miranda is crate and house-trained and has learned how to use a doggie door. She is very smart and is a fast learner. She is shy at first and is learning that she can trust humans again. Once she gets familiar with her surroundings, she does well. She would make a great addition to any family. Consideration should be made when she is around the littles as she is very strong and may knock them over without meaning to. She would be a lap dog if allowed:) She would love to stretch her legs by going on a walk, jog, or hike with her human. Miranda does enjoy being a couch potato and enjoys snuggling with her human but is just as pleased to snuggle up on her doggie bed for a good nap. If you are looking for a great companion that is already housetrained, then look no further than Miranda! Miranda has been cat-tested and passed with flying colors!! Her foster mommy has several videos of her and 3 different cats. So, apply to adopt this beautiful girl as she would be a great companion!! Miranda is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has been treated for heartworms, and is ready to be adopted. Story
Meet Lottie - an adorable female dog with a heart of gold and an abundance of love to give. This gentle and friendly pup is full of affection, and she's sure to win over your heart with her playful antics and goofy personality. Car riding is high on her list of likes, as is meandering along on a sniff walk. Lottie loves spending time outdoors and is always up for a game of fetch or an adventure in the park. She is particularly fond of water and will eagerly splash around in any nearby pond or pool. One of the sweetest traits about Lottie is her calm and gentle nature, making her an ideal companion for those seeking a peaceful and low-maintenance furry friend. Whether she is emptying the toy box of treasures or using her massive head/ nose to crazily roll a ball around the yard, Lottie is a master of self-entertainment Lottie is crate-trained and housebroken or she can be trusted to be left out unattended all day long in the house. If you are looking for a four-legged friend who will bring laughter and joy to your life, Lottie is the perfect match for you. Don't let this special girl pass you by - apply to adopt Lottie today and open your heart to unconditional love and endless cuddles! During Lottie's spay appointment, the vet noticed a slight limp in her front right leg. An X-ray revealed a bullet causing secondary arthritis. The vet advised against removing the bullet and also said that Lottie would need a daily anti-inflammatory for the rest of her life. Lottie doesn't let her arthritis stop her. She loves to run and play. We think it might be one of the reasons she loves the water. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested positive for heartworms and has been treated in our care. Story
Bishop - Needs Foster or Forever home Male Pit bull type dog About 6 years old House trained Crate trained Walks well on a leash Knows basic commands Can live happily with another dog of similar size Needs a home with older children Up to date with vaccines Neutered Bishop came to us as an owner surrender. He had been rescued from a bad situation by a Good Samaritan who could not keep him. We saw him advertised on a free pets' site and contacted the owner, who was thankfully was willing to work with a rescue. After spending time in boarding while we searched for a foster home for him, Bishop has spent time in foster-based training. He has done great! Bishop loves his walks, and needs a family who will take him on adventures and continue to introduce him to new people, places, and things. He would love a family who is at home for at least part of the day - a stay-at-home parent, a retired person or couple, or someone who works from home would be ideal for him. He is happiest when he is with people. He is an absolutely wonderful, happy, affectionate dog who will make a wonderful family member. Story
Axel is an ittie bittie mixtie! We guess that he’s right around 1 year old, and he is neutered and vaccinated. Axel has had a rough start in life. We’ve been told that his initial owners were arrested for animal cruelty. He was then adopted from Animal Control, but due to a change in circumstances (not to do with Axel), his new family reached out for help. Axel is a Velcro pup, sweet as can be and looking to his humans for guidance and reassurance. He’s cat, dog, children and everyone he meets safe. He’s crate and house trained. Axel loves snuggles (with humans or other dogs) and when he’s comfortable he’s a good conversationalist.
